Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
As expected:
There is talk that the current angle where Damien Sandow is looking for an apprentice may lead to someone new being called up from WWE developmental. As of a week ago, there were still plans for Sandow to be paired with Cody Rhodes when he returns in early 2013 but that could change.Comment

Why can't it be both? Sandow and Rhodes mentor the up and comer. Then you can go a couple ways.
When the up and comer is ready, have him turn on Sandow and Rhodes as a face. Then you give the young face one or two really good guys to work w/ and put him over.
Or, when you're ready for the team to split, have the up and comer side w/ one depending on what you want him to be.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Possible mid-card names:
"It was reported Saturday that some familiar faces could be returning to WWE in the coming months as there has been a push from several top talents for the organization to bring back some "solid hand" wrestlers that were previously released. Two specific names in mind are MVP and Shelton Benjamin as organization officials have discussed bringing the former Superstars back to the fold.
Since being released from WWE in April 2010 in a cost-cutting measure, Benjamin has kept busy in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling. MVP also competes in New Japan, where he teams with Benjamin under the tag team name 'Black Dynamite.''Comment

WWE did an injury angle with Randy Orton at the Smackdown tapings on Tuesday night in Bridgeport, Connecticut. A segment took place backstage of The Shield attacking Orton. Matt Striker later said Orton suffered a "separated shoulder and concussion." According to wrestling media reports, Orton suffered some kind of an injury (believed to be to his wrist) at the Tribute to the Troops taping on Sunday in Norfolk, Virginia. No word at this time on how long he will be out.
Prowrestling.net is reporting that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was being advertised for the upcoming Elimination Chamber PPV on 2/17 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Rock was featured in an advertisement shown during halftime of the New Orleans Hornets game on Tuesday.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
It's about time:
"WWE officials are looking to be more edgier with RAW. The feeling is that Vince McMahon isn't behind the new push but obviously is on-board with it. Vince realizes that numbers are down and it's said that he is open to suggestions.
With the low ratings, WWE officials want to put out a product that's a little different than what we've seen over the past year or so. We can also expect to see more wrestling-heavy WWE programming."Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
This the right move. They have to do something to get people back. It doesn't have to be attitude era trash, but I am tired of seeing promos where one wrestler says I'm gonna kick your butt and take your title this Sunday, and the other says no way fella. They need to have people at each others throats, they need guys trying hurt other guys. Something that makes you have to tune in the next week.
They also need to add shock value. I'm not talking about how dirty they can get, I'm talking about a major title change on Raw or Smackdown. Make you think you have to watch because you never know when something big can happen.
Some factions wouldn't hurt either. I like the Shield, that's a good start.
And then there's the writing. ugh. It seems like no one is on the same page. That seems to be the biggest issue with it.
Hope they do something soon.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
I think they need to go back and look at how they do stables too. The best stables have a group of guys that all have something going on of their own. The orginal DX had HBK fighting for the WWE Title, and Triple H was feuding with guys over the European Title. The 1998-99 DX had the Outlaws and X-Pac who had their own feuds. Evolution had their own stuff going. Orton had a great feud with Foley during that run, with Evolution being there, but he got to do his own thing as well. It's what makes stables exciting and good for pushing talent.
The stables we've gotten lately (the last 3 years or so when they've tried to make some stables again) have been all about the main guy. The Straight-Edge Society. The Nexus. The New Nexus. We'll see how the Shield goes, but I bet is goes about the same way. Ambrose is obviously a main eventer, imo, and Rollins might be too, but I'm thinking as time goes on, at least for now, they'll probably end up being more of a tag team with Reigns as a bodyguard/enforcer type than a real stable.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
I want stables that aren't "Oh were just going to come destroy everything 3v1 or whatever then leave" the WWE's recent run with those type of stables has left me bored and frequently changing the channel. Having another stable to go up against would be nice, that seemingly hasn't been done in ever.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
They need to bridge the Attitude era with today. Give us something interesting to want to watch each week. They just don't have enough people to have many stables is the problem to help build some feuds. Like I said in another thread, at Wrestlemania 14, there were 15 legit tag teams. That would be more than half the active roster today (I counted 64 total minus 12 that are injured or aren't around these days) . Even watching these old Raws, I have no idea how they got enough of these people on TV consistently, or maybe there aren't as many people as it seemed. Part of it was most of the TV matches were 5 minutes or less and ended in DQ. With 5 hours each week now, there is no reason why they can't get more people on the main shows. If you can have more people, you can have stables, you can have people with a purpose. Hell, I might start watching Smackdown again.
Something else we don't really seem to have any more is managers, at least manager-like figures. In early 1998, I've seen Sable with Mero, Luna with Goldust, Sunny with LOD, Bearer with Kane, Tennessee Lee with Jarrett, Cornette with the NWA wrestlers, Chyna with Triple H and Michaels, Jackyl with Kurrgann (and Truth Commission at one point), and sort of Lawler with Brian Christopher. I haven't gotten there yet, but Kaientai had a manager as well. We have how many today, 3 maybe? Rosa with Epico and Primo and Ricardo with Alberto, Heyman and Punk? AW got fired. I'll throw Brodus in there, but his two just stand and scream at ringside. All the people I listed were actually involved some how.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
There is at least some talk of turning Alberto Del Rio face, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The company badly want a new Hispanic babyface, with Sin Cara missing the mark.
I've been suggesting that for months. He could really use it so hope they go through with it.
