Well, WWE still has CM Punk merch everywhere on their shop website, until that starts getting removed I'm going to take the stance that he's not really gone for good.

Probably just trying to milk him as long as possible, or just getting rid of their stock. They know people will still buy his merch.

True, but then why pull down his Best in the World DVD from Netflix? They have to pay Punk each time is merch is sold, regardless of how much that can make them, I'd still think if this wasn't a work, they wouldn't want to pay him a dime, even from merch.

Most WWE stuff is getting pulled off Netflix because of the network.

He's still under contract until July whether he ever shows back up or not, so there's no reason for them to just trash that stock. Plus, short term sales will likely go up on it now and they know that too.

Let's be serious here, clearly all a work. WWE is playing up this whole we don't listen to our fans complaint. It's been an elaborate angle years in the making. Bring fans to a boiling point, which most fans finally are, get the fans really upset over the most over wrestler since Austin not being pushed (Even though I argue he still is being pushed like crazy), put out a story where the most universally loved wrestler of the last couple years just leaves (notice how there are no facts yet somehow this was 'leaked'). With one of the biggest Wrestlemanias coming (XXX) and the launch of their network, they are creating buzz that EVERYONE is talking about including TMZ and other media outlets.

Granted nothing I said is probably true but it does make sense so I guess you never really know (Yes I'm always optimistic about wrestling and don't get bent out of shape when things don't go my way because I don't have any money or anything important riding on it).

Netflix has to keep contracts running to keep stuff up, it's not like they can just throw whatever they want up willy nilly.

If it wasn't getting streamed as much (considering it's a pretty niche genre) they could have decided to not keep it up. It's not the first time WWE docs have dropped off the Flix.

I agree with this as well. Would be a hell of a storyline, right up there with Brian Pillman and his work/shoot '96.

The more I read about it, the more I tend to agree with you. Deep down I hope it's a work, but who knows. All of this came out during the Smackdown! tapings which is about 24 hours after this incident took place. I would think that CM Punk actually quitting would've broke before that...
