Did Chris have any other children?

In some of the interviews, namely Stephanie and Chavo, they mention "kids" instead of kid.

Not sure if that means anything, but I was just wondering.

If this is inappropriate mods, just delete it.

Chris has two other children from a previous relationship, and they were still in Canada, I believe.

According to lead investigator Lt. Tommy Pope, of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, in Fayetteville, Ga., the deaths of WWE Superstar Chris Benoit, wife Nancy and son Daniel were the result of a double murder-suicide, WWE.com has learned.

Benoit failed to appear both at Saturday’s live event in Beaumont, Tx., and WWE’s Vengeance: Night of Champions in Houston Sunday night, after informing WWE of a family emergency. Several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning prompted concerned friends to alert Richard Hering, VP of Government Relations for WWE, Inc. Hering, in turn, spoke with Fayette County sheriffs Monday, and requested that they respond to the Benoit residence to check on him and his family.

Authorities representing the Sheriff’s Department initially had a difficult time entering Benoit’s new Fayetteville home Monday afternoon, which had been guarded by two large German Shepherds roaming freely around the property. Once authorities entered the residence, they quickly located the bodies of Benoit, Nancy and Daniel. WWE was notified of the discovery at approximately 4 p.m.

At 10 p.m. Monday night, Lt. Pope held a press conference in conjunction with Scott Ballard, the district attorney for Fayette County. The press conference officially ruled authorities’ findings as a double murder-suicide from within the home.

WAGA, a FOX-owned and operated television station in Atlanta, reported that investigators believe Benoit killed his wife and 7-year-old son over the weekend, then himself on Monday.

The three bodies have been received by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s crime lab, in Decatur, Ga., where autopsies will be performed Tuesday morning. Toxicology reports will not become available for at least two weeks.

WWE.com has further information relating to both the investigation and the cause of death, but the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department has requested that WWE.com not release any additional details at this time.

...and as far as those people who are criticizing WWE for putting on a 3 hour tribute, look at it this way. At 8pm tonight, nobody had a clue what really happened. They had to make a call, so they went with the tribute idea.

At around 10pm, more details starting coming in. What were they going to do? End the show early because of what a few newspapers and TV stations were reporting? No. You finish the show and move on.

It'll be VERY interesting how WWE handles this down the road. Surely, they can't continue the tribute on Smackdown and ECW. I mean...how do you honor a murderer?

So let's say they abandon the tribute...what do they do? Do they acknowledge it? Do they ignore it? It's a very tough spot. Probably the toughest spot WWE and Vince McMahon has ever been in.

I personally think this speculation on the pics is ridiculous. It's a well known fact that people portray their emotions into what they see, so in this case, people saw a tragedy, the pic looked good, they now see a murderer, the picture now looks evil.

Take a good look at it again, it's almost identical. if anything, the second picture shows more of the Rabid Wolverine we've always known, and that's what I think the WWE is trying to do.

Everyone needs to settle down. I think the original intent of not straying into the unconfirmed reports was the best course of action because now, without full knowledge of reasons, etc, everyone's making up their minds, and that's not healthy.

Whether fans of Wrestling or Benoit, we're all hurting. But I think we can all do ourselves a favor by stepping out of this a bit and see what comes up. If it turns out Benoit was a controlling evil maniac, then fine he's evil. If it turns out we find out Benoit had a history of mental illness, then we'll know it's not ok what happened, but there is a reason.

There could be a bazillion reasons for what happened, and a bazillion reasons why it shouldn't have happened. Whatever the case, I hope the present media reports are wrong. That's all I have to say on this issue. There is no doubt he was a great wrestler and a great entertainer. We'll find out soon enough if he was a decent human being who cracked, of maybe worse.

That's true. Nothing justifies murder. There's always a 'reason' though. Something in the killers mind that triggered the events.

Sometimes it can be the most incredibly minor thing.

That's the thing though. Most people don't want to find the reason. They will just say "screw them" and forget about it, until something tragic like this happens to someone they know. Then all you want is answers and reasons and "how can we prevent this."

Chris killed. Period.

As to why we won't know, but hopefully they can find something to explain it so maybe people can learn from it and know what to look for or hell even someone that could possibly kill will seek help before they harm someone since they see the warning sign in themselves..

Again, the sad thing is that his Career and Legacy will forever be tarnished because of his actions. He is a Hall of Fame wrestler that probably won't be inducted now or for a long time becuase of what he's done. It's sad considering he's been one of the best ever to be in a Pro Wrestling Ring.

I've read every single post in this thread and have been keeping up with this story. My interest in wrestling has waned over the past couple of years, but I was a huge follower in the 80's and 90's (especially WCW in the 90's). This news is actually keeping me up right now. At first, when the news broke I was stunned and saddened...Two athletes dying two days apart (Benoit and Rod Beck). Now the recent news stories have me sick. All I can think about is his son and what must of have been going through his head.

I think some of the debate here is seriously misguided. A woman and a child lost their lives. That's a 7 year old who never got a chance to live his life. Bottom line, no matter what the events, that kid won't be around. It doesn't matter why, if, or how he did it. The lives lost are what matters.

To be honest bro...I couldn't care less about his sporting legacy.

If he did kill a woman and a 7 year old...he deserves all the dislike that comes his way.

The man was a giant. A 7 year old is tiny. A woman can't fight back. It's just wrong in every way possible.

This is a VERY good point. I wonder what will the WWE do come tommorrow. Obviously, you want to honor Benoit's in-ring accomplishments.. but the violent outcry and backlash stemming from the reports is also very troubling.

This is just downright bizarre, have no clue what to think to be honest.

Something doesn't add up, everything you've ever read or heard from others made Benoit out to be a genuine family man who cared for the business, life, etc. I just don't get it.

Don't really want to make any generalizations or accusations but the only thing I can think of is that with Eddie's death and the recent death of another one of his close friends, Beef Wellington, maybe he just snapped and went off the deep edge...hell, who knows.

I don't want to judge Chris Benoit the man until all the facts are out but Chris Benoit the wrestler was absolutely amazing. One of the best to ever grace the ring, period...he's a legend.

This **** is just tragic, R.I.P. to the entire family.
