Damn, they put this on ECW Syfy. Badass match. They had a unique look to that show, with the crowd darkly lit and the commentator table facing the hard cam.

Robin and Barney deserved way better. And Robin was way better in first half of series VS 2nd.

New ECW to start was fine. Once it really became WWECW aka the C show, then it started sucking. Sticking vets on the show in desperate attempt to make it interesting. Although they did launch many FCW careers. Though kind of sad WWECW had better storytelling than WWE today. Abraham Washington show was so much fun.

        Kelly Kelly made it worthwhile.

Wwe quickly changed the SSD promo.

Old one basically said it might be better than WM.

This one says it's a WM equivalent event.

Wow......... all the things Triple H does behind the scenes is absolutley incredible. Seeing how much fun Triple H behind the scenes at NXT is just so cool. Shawn marking out just as much everyone else during Gargano/Cole was cool too. The way he talks about how important coaching is and how much he wants to help the young talent... this is the man who will save WWE from Vince.

Save it from the man who created Wrestlemania, turned the company to the first ever publicly traded wrestling company in US history....and is a billionaire.

That might be the easiest save ever.

Not that version of Vince, the 2019 version of Vince is who he will save us from.

Its still weird seeing HHH, the guy with a bad rep for burying talent is the one legitimately responsible for putting over a new generation

I think insane work ethic has to be the main positive thing Triple H has learned from Vince, assuming he didn't already have that.

I will say I think Triple in some ways gets way too much credit for NXT. The best thing he does it not get in the talents way. It's not that hard. The guys they've got working on top there know what they are doing, and can hardly be considered developmental talent.

Helping by not getting in way I'd say is a skill. You need to know when to step in and when not to. Many in all diff professions dont know that.

It's like in sports. They say "sometimes the best moves are the ones you dont make". Similar could apply here in a way.

Was that the first time Hogan tapped out (gave up)? Im not sure about his AWA days, but Hulkamania and post-Hulkamania, I cant remember any other time he gave up before that moment.

That's a good question. Hogan didn't lose very often before this, and trying to think of guys who beat him with a submission is tough.

Watching Over The Edge 1998 main event Austin vs Dude Love, with Vince as ref.

                                - Pat Patterson is introducing Gerry Brisco, he says he's the reincarnation of Jim Thorpe, then he reads the address and phone number for the Brisco Brothers Body Shop. Then JR says "and we know who does the rear ends." Damn lol.

                                - The Stooges were so great. I remember thinking they were hilarious as a kid, and they're even better in retrospect.

                                - Austin flips McMahon the bird, and the crowd pops like he just won the title or something.

                                - Crowd is hot, almost to a scary degree. Fans in the front row getting in both guys face, super aggressive.

                                - There's a spot where Dude Love's false teeth come out. Lawler says he's lost his smile lol.

                                - Crowd chants "Vince is gay!"

                                - Dude Love gets clotheslined over the guard rail landing right on his head/neck on the cement. ****.

                                - Austin gets busted open and is taking bumps on rusty cars. Does insurance cover that?

I don't know how much that PPV cost back in 1998, but for the effort and entertainment value it was likely a steal.
