That, my friend sums up the problem. The McMahon's think that people go out in droves to see them but that is NOT the case. I do think the whole "authority figure" model of booking wrestling has long passed its expiry date. We really really need a shake up that changes the landscape and brings about a culture change however with no legit competition and Vince having the final say on everything we're doomed to keep cycling around the toilet bowl.

This is just an extension of what the WWE would've been if there was no competition from WCW in '96. McMahon would've just kept doing the same ol same ol until everyone but the hardcore tunes in.

I'd have faith in the brand split if someone like Triple H was in full control of it, with Vince I don't have much faith in it working long term.

Really hope Cena isn't #1 pick. If they want people really buying into the "new era", they need to prove it. Something small but symbolic like Rollins,Ambrose,Owens being the top pick would work.

I do like on Raw how JBL did apply real insight on the draft. Debating if you take a future hof in Cena, who's getting old, or a top younger talent. It'd be like the LeBron vs Kobe debate several years back(older Kobe or younger LeBron), or the now LeBron vs Steph debate(older lebron or younger curry).

Surprised on TV they haven't talked about drafting champs. Nobody discussing scenario on what happens if Ambrose,Charlotte get taken. Or if it's possible for new day to be split up despite being the champs.

After watching his match last week on NXT, I'm going to be shocked if Balor isn't drafted Tuesday, hopefully they have a cool plan for announcing him being drafted. It would be a waste of a great debut to just do "And with the next pick, Raw/Smackdown selects...Finn Balor"


My biggest concern about the draft is that they're getting close to pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered territory with how they turning NXT in to a separate touring brand. Guys like Joe, Nakamura, Aries, seem more than ready for the main roster but they have to leave big names behind so that NXT can continue touring. I'd rather see all the bigger names on the main rosters and NXT become a truly developmental promotion.

WWE has released draft rules and eligible draftees.

The following rules were announced:

- The RAW roster has the first overall pick.

- To compensate for the fact RAW is a three hour show and Smackdown is a two hour show, RAW will get three picks for every two Smackdown picks.

- Tag teams will count as one pick unless Shane McMahon/Stephanie McMahon or their GMs specifically indicates they want only one member of the team.

- Six picks will be made off the NXT roster

Damn, imagine you're in a team and a GM decides he only wants your partner when he has the option of taking both at no additional cost draft pick wise. The future isn't exactly looking bright for you. I guess Steph could purposely split a team up just for the sake of being a heel

Also I think that pretty much confirmed at least 1 tag team getting drafted to different brands. I have narrowed it down to 2 or 3 different teams The Club (notice how Gallows and Anderson are separate from AJ unlike New Day and Social Outcasts), Enzo and Cass (the one we all have been guessing since the announcement) and the New Day (you can't tell me you saw the Dudleyz getting broken up during the initial brand draft in 2002.) My order from most to least likely of the 3 is The Club, Enzo & Cass, New Day (sadly).

As much as I would love for the New Day to go away. I can't see it happening they are way too over right now and they just started a program with the Wyatt's that has had no payoff or in-ring action. Maybe Xavier costs them the tag titles to Bray and partner X at Battleground or SummerSlam and that will lead to the break up.

Answered my own question. No shot Roode is a pick he hasn't even made his television debut in NXT yet.

But Alpha, Joe, Finn, Nakamura, Nia Jax, Bayley.
