No, I believe the NWA had a Bunkhouse Stampede ppv that night that took place in Long Island so WWF aired that on cable the same night

Speaking of Royal Rumble history..... January 26th, 2014. The YES Movement left the station with its destination of Wrestlemania 30. But I'm not talking about this to talk about the Old Daniel Bryan. It's officially been 5 years since CM Punk's final WWE appearance in the 2014 Royal Rumble.

Last year on this day..... the debut of the most awkward Wrestlemania Pointing in history. After Asuka won the first Women's Royal Rumble, Ronda "Awkward Pointing at the Mania Sign" Rousey made her debut.

And never forget the intro music for the PPV. One of funnier ones they've ever had.

WWE recently added that very song on Spotify if anyone cares.

Five years ago, the directive to #HijackRaw was posted.

Spoiler: It was a miserable failure

17 years ago today was the match.

Can't believe next year this will be the halfway point in WM history. 2nd half of WM history will be entirely WWE years.

Talk about pops. This might be my favorite moment from WM17. It's slept on for sure.

With the upcoming Superstar Shakeup coming up, let's take a look at another event that happened on this day. On March 22nd, 2004 the WWE held it's first ever Draft Lottery. Eric Bischoff was the GM of RAW, Paul Heyman was the GM of Smackdown.

Two things of note happened during this RAW, Edge returning and lastly Triple H being drafted to SD Live but traded back the next day for Booker T & The Dudley Boys.

From 02-05 the brand extension was at it's best. Actual brand rivalries and seeing stars switch brands was a big thing.

I don't ever want brand extension to end (face it, we'd get things like Balor vs Lashley on Raw, Balor vs Lio on SD, Balor vs Lashley and Lio on Raw, and Balor + partner vs Lashley and Lio on SD), but hope they could add some more importance to titles and champs.

Womens tag titles are the 1 non branded titles and even that wwe until this past week couldn't care less about even having champs appear on SD.

Night after WM will be big for the shakeup(which happens week after). No GMs, but who'd decide where anyone goes? Something for sure would happen to address that.
