I remember my Youth Football coach ordering this PPV for us, along with Pizza(Because when you’re 13 you want Pizza and Wrestling)at our end of the season banquet that he had for the team at his house.

I was so geeked up for that match and then to see Austin get ran over…Devastated ain’t even the word that Young Pack was feeling. And then see Big Show of all people come out, any remaining excitement I had for that match was gone.

I could have gone to this show at the Joe Louis Arena, but didn’t. I was still enough of a mark to get the ppv. The rest of the show after Austin got run over seemed like an afterthought. It was almost like all the energy was sucked out of the building to me. Jim Ross’ commentary set the tone.

November 24th, 1983. Starrcade 83: A Flair For The Gold. This card was filled with future legends and Hall of Famers. The main event featured a Steel Cage match between NWA Champion Harley Race and Ric Flair. This show is also known for the Dog Collar Match between Greg Valentine and Roddy Piper.

22 years ago today, Triple H ruined the wedding of Stephanie McMahon & Test by revealing.... he married a passed out Stephanie McMahon in a Las Vegas Drive Thru. This segment would get heavily criticized if WWE ran that storyline in today's world.

Same can be said about half the stories WWE ran from 97-07.

But technically, wasn't the whole thing a setup? Unless I remembered the whole story wrong. Like story wise, HHH never drugged her, but Steph played along with the Vegas wedding thing to get back at her dad for all the stuff he's done, such as setting her up to get kidnapped by Undertaker.

As best I can tell (which is really just looking at Cagematch) this, on MSG Network, was the first televised Hogan vs Flair match. Still a big miss to not do this for WrestleMania, but Flair and Savage was great so maybe things do work out sometimes.

A segment featuring The Rock, Vince McMahon, Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Jim Ross, Trish Stratus, and Rikishi ends in an unforgettable WWF moment.

And a big main event that was entirely overshadowed by Rikishi's ***.

Eddie Guerrero vs Big Bubba Rogers

Not the most exciting match, but it's one of those "...these two wrestled each other?" things. This guy's video also includes 4 minutes of sweet mid-90's TBS commercials for the nostalgia.

This seems very fitting given Kevin Owens may be leaving WWE next year.

Dec 11th, 2014 at NXT Takeover: R Evolution. The debut of Kevin Owens against CJ Parker. On this same show, Sami Zayn challenged Adrian Neville for the NXT Championship. Zayn promised to quit NXT if he didn't win the title, Zayn went on to win the title and the roster came out to congratulate him. It was what Owens did after the match that had everyone talking.

The funny backstory on that celebration is that Pat Patterson wasn't supposed to go to the ring, but he said he's going anyways and nobody stopped him.
