There really was no feud. They just attacked each other randomly over and over. There never was supposed to be a long feud, it just had to stretch out longer because Moxley couldn't make it for All Out. I've zero clue why they are supposed to hate each other.

Re: AEW Off-Topic
My biggest problem with the Moxley/Omega match is that as someone who has only watched and followed the TV show so far. That level of brutality seemed really unwarranted. Like the feud didn’t do a good enough job making me think this is what’s needed to end all this. Would have rather seen them have some matches escalating the situation each time. But that’s really more of a nit pick I guess.

They should have done better.
I didn't watch though. Thought the PPV was done after Rhodes/Jericho went on. Of course I had to leave the house so I didn't stick around to see if there was anything else. Legitimately thought they scrapped this match. And if that happened it wouldn't have bothered me at all.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
AEW might already be backtracking off their W/L idea. Not sure what he means here, maybe he means they will reset and they will treat certain periods as seasons? I think seasons in wrestling is different...don't know if it would be a good idea or not. But saying W/L records will reset is basically them saying "W/L records will matter...until they don't anymore". Wonder what their gameplan is.

This is why it was dumb to ever say they mattered. They’ve never mattered in wrestling and it’s for a good reason. Wrestling is a work. It requires suspension of disbelief.

I believe they always said they would have “seasons”. So I guess the question then would be what the reset point will be.

Re: AEW Off-Topic
It could be cool if done right though. Especially if they did do seasons and there was a tournament at the end to decide the next #1 contender, seeding is based on W/L record...lots of storylines you can write with that such as cinderella upsets, #1 seed domination, etc. Maybe there's a guy who needs to win X amount of matches near the end of the season to make the tournament...there's so much they could do with it.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Both a seasons and W/L records are both horrible ideas that don't work in wrestling.
Also how much longer until they walk back the stip from Saturday night where Cody can't ever challenge for the World title again? I give it less than 6 months. Like that idea was stupid from the start, Cody is one of the very few guys that doesn't feel like a JAG (just another guy). Now he can't ever wrestle for the World Title ever again, and we're only 6 weeks into TV and 6 months as a promotion.Last edited by redsox4evur; 11-12-2019, 11:54 PM.Comment

We'll see how that holds up and I agree though, way too early for this kind of stipulation. I'm going to assume Moxley will be rewarded for winning the match against Moxley with a title match against Jericho as a way to make up for his win over Omega not counting. Should be interesting to see when the next PPV is and who will challenge Jericho at the first PPV of 2020.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Seasons and W/L are antithetical to wrestling.
Go watch traditional sports if you want those.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
The whole win-loss thing is just them trying too hard to differentiate themselves. Same thing with blowing the "Cody can't challenge for the title anymore!" story so quickly. Stuff like this is them being too hyper-aware of wrestling fans so they do things as a wink and a nod to earn some online pats on the back.
The W/L thing will make a good moment once though, whenever they do an angle where a guy with a ****ty record pulls off an upset and jumps in the rankings for a title match.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Eh the Cody thing isn’t that big a deal. I feel like WWE used to have guys lose matches that resulted in them never getting another title shot. He’ll just win a match down the road that gives him the ability back.
