While I much prefer AEW to the current WWE product, I can understand the criticisms and you bring up a key point. You have Mox and Omega in the title picture seemingly alone, a tag title picture sullied by Jericho and a great solo heel MJF chasing the Bucks when there are SO many other teams, the TNT belt that is a cluster mess of the midcard, and a women's belt that is just around. There are simply too many people on the roster.

I think they need to split off Dark and make it more official (put it on TNT), trim the fat (like Luther, though he's Jericho's buddy), and maybe add a cruiserweight division to divide the roster a bit...though that risks a title glut. I like seeing different people each week, a major plus vs. WWE, but know who and what you have. Beasts like Archer and Cage should be beasts, not talkers, especially when they have mouthpieces like Jake and Taz. Shaq and Sting are unnecessary distractions that take up too much time (like the failed Tyson thing).

AEW was doing another part of the womens eliminator tournament on BR Live today. Many people were having issues, Tony Khan said he spoke to people at BR Live who assured him beforehand nothing would go wrong.

So once the problems happened, he decided to just give people the entire stream of the show on YouTube and forget about BR Live.

I wonder if AEW would ever get a WWE Network kind of thing going. Or if they partner with Impact and others, maybe one big streaming service for past shows, original content, and then charge separate for PPVs?

Bar Refaeli, an Israeli model, signed a plea bargain in June 2020 to settle a tax evasion case originating in Israel in 2015. Bar and her mom, Zipi Refaeli, who was also involved in the legal snafu, were ordered to pay millions as a part of the deal.

He says HUGE star in the world of wrestling. So who do you think he's talking about? CM Punk? Someone from Japan? Some other ex-WWE guy?

I'm gonna throw a wild guess and say Okada just because of the way he said "in the world of wrestling".

The biggest names I could think of would be Lesnar or Punk.

What are some other names that it could be?

It has to be someone big. If its some Impact or NJPW star, that'll be a letdown since they're hyping it up so much.

I just saw another post where Paul Wight called the guy signing "HOF worthy". That would be someone like Lesnar or Punk but more likely Kurt Angle, Ken Shamrock, or Christian.

Saying HOF worthy makes it feel like it's someone who isn't current in a hall of fame.

So that wouldn't sound like a Kurt Angle or anything like that. Although I'd love Angle getting a proper retirement match.

Jericho recently did mention how names like Sting, Paul Wight, Shaq do their job. It gets eyes on the show, and could help get TV deals in other countries, which lays the groundwork for the other stars to get noticed. So they could be open to anyone.

CM Punk I could see. He seemed open to a return when talking to Renee on her podcast, but he wants it to be with big names he hasn't competed with. Most big guys in WWE he's already faced, so AEW does have a couple that I could see intriguing him like Omega, Kingston and others. In AEW he would have free range to do whatever he wants. He could wrestle but also do commentary or whatever else he wants.

I'd say the "it's not who you think it is" eliminates either Brock or Punk. Doubt it's someone at that level.

It’s absolutely not that level and people are going to be pissed at the disappointment. lol

It's a longshot, but what if that surprise is a female? Have to rewatch the promo to see if Wight said "he" or not when talking about the person. I'd love seeing them getting a female vet or two on their roster.

Hard to build the womens division when they spend little time on it, and the only one or two women people seem to care about aren't the ones in the spotlight.

I'd have no problem with some female vet going to AEW and even winning a title. Most have more name value than anyone on their roster.

I think someone like Mickie is still under contract with WWE. Don't think Lita can compete anymore? Same with Paige? Victoria returned at the Rumble but seems like a one off, so she could go anywhere.

                      I'm a fan of Show's new shirt.

                      I might actually buy this.

Tony Khan commented on Paul Wight's promo and said that the big surprise on Sunday will sign a multi-year deal with AEW. He also said the 6th person in the ladder match is not the person Paul is talking about.

"This Sunday a major star in the world of wrestling, a huge huge star is going to come and sign a multi-year contract with AEW on Sunday at the pay-per-view. I can confirm what Paul said is true, and I’m not talking about the person in the ladder match. We have a great, fun sixth person in the ladder match, but the person who I’m saying is going to come and sign a multi-year contract with AEW, the person Paul referenced, that’s not the sixth person in the ladder match. Paul’s talking about a big surprise, and that’s that’s no joke. What he said to you I can confirm is true."
                          Hugh Morris confirmed.

Going with the hard sell on that PPV lol. I'm sure the show will deliver, but man it is hard for me to justify full PPV price for a show with limited crowd attendence.

Even with a full crowd, WWE controls the market. Not that I think anyone should offer PPVs for $9.99, that was and still is too good to be true for WWE fans. However, $60 or whatever the price of this PPV is seems so high after people have gotten use to this low price from WWE.

It’s the single barrier keeping me from fully diving into AEW. I will never pay $60 for a PPV again. So it’s tough watching every Wednesday knowing I’m not gonna see the payoff.
