    Re: AEW Off-Topic

After watching Sammy's apology video, it was just a dumb *** 22 year old doing dumb *** things.

When I was 20-23 I was saying some of trashiest things to get that room pop of, "did he really say that?" Would I say any of those things now? Absolutely not, but that's only because I matured, and the people I was hanging out with around that age were *******s who didn't give a **** about people.

I respect the guy for going to Sasha and talking things out, going to social media and doing that video.

He absolutely should not be lumped into Starr, Ryan, Gallagher and all of the other actual predators. He needs to take this time and reflect, do those sensitivity trainings and come back at the latter part of this year.

The age of consent is only 16 in the UK? Wow... how is it 2020 and that has not been changed at all, incredible. From the story, whoever was giving her beer should be locked up and arrested for giving alcohol to a minor as well.

Yeah, he’s handling it the right way - none of that “sorry if anyone was offended” stuff that people usually pull. Own up to it, apologize, take the consequences, and be better on the other end. Good for him.

Actually, adults can buy alcohol for 16 year olds in the UK. They just can’t buy it themselves.

But there's just as good of a chance he liked the tweet while apologizing to her or even after apologizing to her.

Also if you're truly sorry you aren't making like 3 different public apologies (each more dramatic than the last) to someone within the span of 24 hours.
Can you drop a link to the liked tweet, please? The screenshot is showing on the OS app (at least for me).

Yeah, his "never forgiving myself" response seemed very disingenuous. Only he knows if he sincerely meant those apologies or not, but he'll be off television for a while & hopefully can seek some counseling.

People think they're doing society a service, but I don't think people are gonna like where they find themselves soon enough.

Some people are just ****ing idiots. People can jump down his throat for the initial comment, and rightfully so, but if the guy is just plain stupid there is no way he’s going to be able to navigate through this without making it worse

You mean by constantly digging up old stuff & using it against a person?

In that sense I agree because everyone has done or said something stupid, inappropriate or offensive in life. There are degrees to this stuff too but rape is a very, very serious subject matter.

Different things are going to offend and oftentimes there are consequences for questionable/inappropriate behavior or jokes. Most of all don't let people record you saying stupid ****, so you (meaning people in general) can continue being an offensive *******

It’s an interesting view on this usually super woke board. Surprised this hasn’t really gotten unanimous vitriol. Something finally deserves it and we have to settle for lukewarm reactions.

It was a disgusting comment & he deservedly was admonished for it, yet Twitter or the internet in general loves to dig through the archives to **** on someone.

We do have the freedom of speech & expression, but that also doesn't stop the consequences that come with using language in poor taste or derogatory terms.

The whole #SpeakOut movement (whether you agree with casting blanket accusations or not) is about stomping out this same terrible misogynistic attitude & "rape culture" that seems pervasive in the wrestling industry. He deserves all the blowback, "hate" & criticism Sammy is receiving.

Side-note: If I was Sasha's husband this definitely would have been handled "off the internet." Respect to him for not blowing up and doing something he would later regret.

Going after people's existences for stupid **** they've said or done years ago is dangerous as **** as a society.

                              But y'all can have it.

His "existence" isn't being hurt or challenged, buddy. He has been pulled from television & made to seek counseling. Still has a job and spot in AEW waiting for him when he comes back.

Yes, people need to learn to forgive & realize people can and do change. That doesn't mean if you've done or said in things of poor taste in the past you should walk away Scott free.

That stupid ****ing attitude - and Guevara's inappropriate comment & attitude towards the subject- is why women don't come forward & these issues are so widespread in the wrestling industry.

Think about how you would feel if a man (who you don't know) said such a thing about your wife, daughter, mom or sister. Whether it was said today, yesterday or years ago.
