Re: AEW Off-Topic
William Regal on the new Jericho podcast is a must listen. Had no idea what he was going through the past decade+, particularly the last 5 years. He was walking around (somehow) with a severely broken neck, and quite literally could have died or been paralyzed at any moment. He recalls moments that should have set off alarms, but he had that old school mentality of "oh, that's just how it is when you wrestle for a long time." I also have to give WWE 1000% props for paying for all the expensive procedures he had done.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Kenny Omega is currently recovering from knee surgery, and is slated to have surgery to repair his sports hernia at the end of this month, which will have a two month recovery.
Meltzer also said he will be getting other things taken care of. There is no timetable for his return.
I’m my view, best case scenario is he’s back in time for All Out. Worst case, he’s out till Full Gear.
And considering the banger of a run he had with NJPW and AEW and how banged up he was, maybe a full year off is exactly what he needs.

AEW announced an official partnership with DDT, which means that Kenny’s first feud back from injury will be against Yoshihiko….

So, I was excited for potentially buying a Blackpool Combat Club shirt, but this is what they came up with...

Re: AEW Off-Topic
If there was one thing I wished AEW would do was be more up front about injuries.
Angelico last wrestled on Dark on December 3rd. He revealed in February on his Twitter that he tore his knee up.
Matt Sydal last wrestled on Dark on February 16th. He revealed on Twitter earlier this month he dislocated his knee.
AEW always say they are more sports centric. Maybe have an official injury list.

Re: AEW Off-Topic
I just thought of something. I know there are reports about AEW being on HBO MAX and I'm sure Warner Media would prefer that. What if Tony Khan just took ROH's Streaming Service 'Honor Club', improved it and put all AEW & ROH content on there?Comment

I really wonder what kind of effect (if any) Cody returning to WWE will have on AEW. No matter how you want to spin it, one of your founders returning to the company he left to found said promotion isn't exactly a good look...Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Nah, AEW needs as many eyeballs as it can get. We all liked WWE Network far better than Peacock but it's better for WWE to be on Peacock than their standalone app.

However, despite seemingly burning every bridge on his way out, I always said if one of the EVPs was going to WWE, it was going to be Cody. I always felt he used the popularity of the Bucks, Kenny, and Bullet Club to rebuild his brand specifically to go back to WWE.
That's not a knock against Cody. The business is about making money. Ultimately, I hope WWE does well by him. For the AEW internet trolls who said the crowd wouldn't know who Cody Rhodes was, that pop last night was enough to show how wrong they were. And for the WWE internet trolls who trashed everything he did in AEW to now praising him like a conquering hero...I've got nothing but cringe for them. Twitter is a horrible place lol.
As for AEW, I think it'll be business as usual for them. Ratings are up compared to last year at this time (though to be fair, this time last year, they were still battling with NXT on Wednesday nights). They are averaging a million viewers per episode over the year so far (903k last year). Revolution was projected to be the 2nd highest-grossing PPV in the company's history.
AEW is fine.Comment
