    Re: AEW Off-Topic

That's fair. Moxley wrestled that death match style before he was in WWE, and that's what he likes. But his run in NJPW in the G1 that one year shows he's just as good at doing more of a strict in-ring strong style. If the criticism is he's dumb for doing what he's doing, that's a valid opinion. But in some ways Moxley is safer than a lot of guys because blading and barbed wire is still preferable to be dropped on your head, I think.

It was bound to happen. Although the timing is interesting. Signing once she knew Mox wanted to lock in long term with AEW.

Just don't make her a commentator, even she hated it. Wouldn't mind her backstage. Their backstage interviewers all feel generic to me (I'm not including someone like Tony as a backstage interviewer).

My fave part about all that is her commenting in the past about AEW/Mox.

Mox (no surprise) isn't the kind of guy who lives on his phone and won't be calling or texting people back all the time. So when people from AEW try reaching Mox, they'd contact Renee instead, and she's like "I don't even work there!"

I can't necessarily disagree with Tony on this. You can't have your top guy getting hurt at a GCW show and be off TV for months.

No matter how you feel about Dan Lambert.... this is a great interview with Chris Van Vliet.

Ace Steel fired. Punk shown in a video package. The Elite mentioned on commentary.

Wheels seem to be in motion.

Interesting bit of news on the Billy Gunn/DX reunion negotiations.

Sounds like WWE contacted AEW about getting him for one night, AEW agreed to under one condition, WWE mention AEW (like they did Impact when Mickie appeared). WWE said no.

Graves did mention Billy doing "something with office supplies", so that was the closest we got to an AEW mention, but I guess that was probably as far as WWE was even willing to go in the negotiations as well.

New report says AEW is trying to buyout CM Punk's contract with the holdup being his non-compete clause due to WWE interest if he were to become available.

I can’t see how WWE would be interested.

A CM Punk HOF Induction would bring in a ton of money, sure Hunter and him had their issues but nothing money can't fix. Imagine having him as the Pre-Order Bonus for WWE 2K24... again lots of money to be made. Plus he is one of the few who could return and get a Cody like pop.

I mean he's just a walking cash register. He'd come back for the same reason they do the Saudi Shows, it's a lot of money.

Imagine if Punk returned ONLY for those shows because they (SA) paid him like 10M or something.

Don't think Punks relationship with HHH is any better than his relationship with Vince, guess we'll see.

If he just wants one final match/feud to ride off into the sunset, I'm sure they could work something out. Let him pick his opponent.

And make sure Ace Steel doesn't come in and bite Lesnar.

How much of a walking cash register would he be for WWE now, though? After seven years the money was in the comeback story, and AEW got that. Then his whiny rant showed he's still the same dude even after a bunch of time away; so WWE would have to keep him in that special attraction role, both to keep him happy and to keep his bitterness from dragging other people down.

So they'd have a guy they only bring out for a match every few months to pop the crowd and sell some t-shirts. They already have Goldberg for that.
