Yeah the war was fun in the beginning to track but man the fans make it insufferable. Tony Khan even went out of his way today to make a post about how winning the demo is important. You never see HHH/WWE talk about that though.

Re: AEW vs NXT Ratings War
For NXT specifically...it was a title match with two weeks of build, between two guys who have only loosely been feuding, from a company who has taught viewers to expect **** finishes.
Did he really? Why would you even do that?Comment

Re: AEW vs NXT Ratings War
I think it just says that these shows are going to continue swapping the same million and a half every week and neither show is interesting enough to really break out beyond that.

Re: AEW vs NXT Ratings War
Probably because people were acting like NXT barely winning in viewers is somehow a definitive victory. 18-49 is the number that matters. 50+ people watching pro wrestling in 2020 is not really the goal for a healthy long term promotion.
AEW has won 18-49 every week. Smackdown has been dead last on network TV in viewers almost every week they've been on Fox, but they've been 1st or 2nd in 18-49 most of the time. AEW being #7 for the night is a victory in my eyes.Comment

Re: AEW vs NXT Ratings War
It is, and nobody here is saying it’s not, so I’ll leave it there.
I question Tony Khan mentioning it at all because...imagine Vince McMahon doing that **** in 98 before overtaking WCW. It comes off as insecure. The numbers speak for themselves.Comment

Re: AEW vs NXT Ratings War
Well I'm sure he is somewhat insecure...he was just like I imagine many on here were, fantasy bookers as kids that always dreamed of doing it for real. The difference is he was born into an extremely wealthy family and actually does get to do it for real. But he was born into that by luck of the draw and he's fully aware of that because he's a sharp guy.Comment

Re: AEW vs NXT Ratings War
Last part of Bucks/Butcher and Blade match had over 1M viewers tune in.
They still have to almost double their viewers to top what Raw/SD have been getting lately, but it's interesting to see that they might be less than 1M viewers away from passing those shows.Comment

AEW fans brag about winning the total or the demo
WWE fans respond with RAW and Smackdown's ratings to prove they're still "superior"Last edited by cima; 07-25-2020, 01:00 AM.Comment

Re: AEW vs NXT Ratings War
Speaking of "demo god", AEW had more 18-49 viewers than Raw,NXT and Smackdown.
Raw and SD still has more overall viewers, but AEW actually topping those shows in the "key demographic" is impressive.
I said before, I don't want AEW to ruin WWE or anything like many internet fans are hoping for, I just want WWE to finally be pushed to a point where they need to try.Comment

1.2m for AEW, and Raw this week got 2m for the Raw after WM show.
If AEW consistently gets over 1m viewers, I wonder if WWE will finally start doing something.Comment
