Today I made my debut with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. I gave up a home run to Sweeney in the first inning but that was it as far as runs were concerned in my three innings of work. My team took the lead with a run in the bottom of the sixth then added two more in the bottom of the 7th but the pen allowed four runs in the 8th and we lost, 6-5. I faced Oakland's DH Barry Bonds (Reggie Stocker) and he went 1 for 2 with a double.

We are on the road to take on the Colorado Rockies and the team gave me three runs before I even took the mound. I went four innings today, striking out three, and allowed two runs on eight hits. I left the game with a 3-2 lead but the bullpen imploded again as Colorado scored three times in the sixth and seventh innings plus added two more in the eighth as we lost again, 10-5.

We are at Kansas City's spring complex to take on the Royals and it seems like the hits are starting to not only add up but also starting to take it's toll. I gave up three runs on a bunch of hits and then settled down and allowed only one more run in my four innings of work. The Royals' pitchers scattered our 12 hits as we got beat, 4-1. I have yet to give up another HR since the first inning of my debut. I did, however, uncork my first wild pitch of the spring.

We are facing the Athletics again, this time at their place, as I take the mound. I scattered a lot of hits and gave up a 2-run home run to Barton in the bottom of the fifth to end my outing. That was only my second home run allowed this spring. Unfortunately, that dinger also gave Oakland the lead and we lost, 4-2. I've got possibly a couple of more outings before judgement day. I better be good.

We enter the last week of spring training and I take the hill in the early part of the week. I am only making my second start in front of the home crowd and it was a pretty good one. I only allowed one run on six hits during my five innings as we defeated the San Diego Padres, 4-3, as the back end of today's pitching rotation allowed runs in the eighth and ninth innings but K-Rod picked up the save. Hopefully I can get one more start before the end of the week.

This is the final weekend of spring training and my last start before the Angels head off to begin the 2009 regular season. I allowed a 2-run home run to Tony Clark in the first inning as I scattered 8 hits in 5 innings and left with the game tied, 3-3. The Padres tacked on two runs against my replacement then hung on as we lost, 5-4.
I hope that my stats are good enough.

Judgement Day
The manager called me into the office today and thanked me for my interest but unfortunately there was no room for me in their organization. I thanked him and the GM for allowing me the opportunity, then packed up my things and headed to my cattle ranch that I purchased with my dad with the money that I had earned in 2008.If you can read this, thank a teacher. I looked through the baseball journal over the winter and saw that the experts said that the Cleveland Indians' starting pitchers are thin. I decided to give them a call and they agreed to give me a tryout and invited me to spring training. If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in english, thank a soldier.Comment

Another year, another team.
I made my debut in competition for the #5 sp role with the Indians as they hosted the Detroit Tigers, defending AL champs. I gave up a 2-run home run in the first inning but allowed only four other hits in my three innings of work and left with a 6-2 lead. The Tigers eventually tied the game and later won it, 7-6, in 11 innings. All in all, it wasn't a bad outing, just okay.
