Bennett's 21 Carries Timberwolves Past Trail Blazers

Recap | Box Score | Highlights

MVP: Anthony Bennett. The 2013 number one pick lead the way with a 21 point, 10 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks performance. Bennett also had the duty of guarding one of if not the best scoring bigs in the NBA in LaMarcus Aldridge holding him to just 11 points on 5-of-12 shooting.

LVP: Dorell Wright. Wright tried to play the role of go to scorer and that didn't work out to well. Wright took a game high 11 three point attempts making just 4 of them. All those threes could've been post possessions for the Aldridge and the other bigs.

X-Factor: Jeremy Tyler. Tyler had another great game off the bench pitching in 15 points and 6 rebounds in 20 minutes. The former 2nd rounder play as got him some 6th man of the year considerations.

Rookie Watch: Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins finished with 21 points and 3 steals but had an off night shooting the rock going 8-of-21 from the field.

        Final:

New York Knicks: Currently 5-13; 3rd worse record in the league.
              Current Status: (Lottery)

Gonna be tracking this pick for the rest of the season. They gave me this pick in the Ricky Rubio deal during the draft.

                Re: A New Era

For the 2nd year in a row, the Denver Nuggets are shopping athletic big man Javale McGee. Word around the league is that the Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic are the front runners in trying to acquire the 26 year old. But it really wouldn't make sense for either team. The Magic have to extend Nikola Vucevic and just drafted Willie Cauley-Stein. And the Suns spet a top pick on Alex Len two years ago and their very high on Miles Plumlee.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have wanted to start negotiations on a new contract for point guard Rajon Rondo, but sources close to Rondo say the former NBA champion wants to see how the season goes first before signing a long term deal with the team. Rondo was acuired on draft day from Boston in a deal that sent the Celtics Marcus Smart, Nick Johnson, and a 2015 1st round pick.

The Philadelphia 76ers made the big splash of acquiring Tony Parker because they wanted to make a playoff push. Well things gaven;t gone to plan since the Sixers just recently ended a 10 game loosing streak. Looks like the only way Parker will sign an extension is if Philly cough up some bucks. If they don't, TP will walk this summer.

Second year head coach Brad Stevens is in the hot seat with Danny Ainge. This is shocking because Ainge pretty much went into full rebuild with the Rondo trade. Stevens is just in year two of a 6 year $22M deal.

Wiggins Scores 27 In Comeback Win Over Pacers

Recap | Box Score | Highlights

MVP: Andrew Wiggins. Matched up against all star and all nba performer Paul George, Wiggins got the best of PG24 in the battle of small forwards scoring a team high 27 points while only missing one shot the entire game (11-12). Wiggins defense was the bigger story as he held George to 6-of-20 shooting from the field.

LVP: Paul George. George struggled all night long with Wiggins pretty much locking him up. He scored 14 points but it took him 20 shots to get it though. George's recent shooting woes has been one of the reasons for Indiana's poor start to the season.

X-Factor: Anthony Bennett. Bennett went toe to toe with David West and West ended up with the better numbers, but Bennett wasn't some slouch. The former Running Rebel finished with 21 points, 10 boards, and 5 helpers, which is a career high for the big man.

Rookie Watch: Doug McDermott. McBuckets only saw 10 minutes of game action as he scored 3 points on 1-of-4 shooting.

                    Final:

                            T-Woves Acquire Bazemore

Minnesota -- The Minnesota Timberwolves have acquired guard kent Bazemore from the Los Angeles Lakers. The T-Wolves will be sending Reggie Bullock and a 2016 2nd round pick to LA for the high flying two guard.

Bazemore, who signed a 3 year $6.24M contract over the summer, was expected to be the primary backup to Kobe Bryant. But 1st year head coach Tim Schmidt has only given Bazemore around 9.2 minutes a game. Expect to see a minutes increase for the 25 year old.

"From watching their games I think I'm a perfect fit for this team. They like to get out and run and a lot of their scoring comes from getting out in transition on the fast break. Get ready to see even more lobs and jams." said Bazemore after taking his physical.

MVP: Russell Westbrook. Westbrook led the way for the Thunder with a game high 26 points to go with 3 assist and 2 steals. Westbrook stepped up in a huge way with Durant having a terrbile night shooting the ball.

LVP: Dion Waiters. Waiters had a hard time connecting with the three ball going 1-of-7 including some big misses in the 4th quarter. He also let Jeremy Lamb get the best of his in the shooting guard matchup.

X-Factor: Jeremy Lamb. Lamb had the hot hand finishing with 16 points and 4 assist in 29 minutes. He got open looks all game long thanks to the constant penetration of Westbrook and Durant against the Timberwolves defense.
