The Spurs go international with their first lottery pick they've had in a long long long long time.

      Australia PG Dante Exum

The Lakers get their man as they were hoping Exum would fall down to him. The 6'6 point guard has been the mystery man of this years draft.

              Timberwolves Draft Recap

Some experts are saying the Minnesota Timberwolves came away as the biggest winners of the 2014 NBA draft. With the 3ed oveall pick they selected Kansas SF Andrew Wiggins. The Timberwolves were worried that the Utah Jazz or the Philadelphia 76ers would snatch up the number one prospect, but to the whole world's surprise, Wiggins fell to number three behind Gary Harris (Utah) and Julius Randle (76ers). Wiggins is already pencilled in as the starting small forward. He will join Rondo, Dion Waiters, Anthony Bennett, and Tyson Chandler in a very balanced starting 5.

Before their second lottery pick at number 7, the Wolves pulled off a shocking trade by dealing Ricky Rubio, Gorgui Dieng, and two 2014 2nd round picks to the New York Knicks in exchange for Tyson Chandler, Danny Green, the 15th overall pick, and NYK's 2015 1st rounder. Minnesota went on to select Oklahoma State point guard Marcus Smart with the 7th pick. But Smart's time in Minnesota was short as the T-Wolves traded him, the 15th pick, and Cleveland 2015 1st rounder to the Boston Celtics for all star point guard Rajon Rondo and the Celtics 2014 2nd round pick.

With the 26th pick, the Timberwolves went with a project in UCLA point guard Zach Lavine. lavin isn't expected to come in and play major minutes and he'll get the chance to learn and play behind Rondo and veteran C.J. Watson. Even though his raw, he adds more skills to an already nasty backcourt.

Minnesota didn't pick again until the 35th pick where they took Iowa State forward Melvin Ejim who was later traded to the Chicago Bulls for Mike Dunleavy and the the 54th overall pick. With their final pick in the draft the T-Wolves went with big man Jusuf Nurkic out of Slovenia. Nurkic is another project that can sit and learn behind former defensive player of the year Tyson Chandler.

Minnesota Dominates Utah In Opening Night Win

Recap | Box Score | Highlights

MVP: Andrew Wiggins. The hype....is....real. Wiggins stepped on the court for his first NBA game and he did not disappoint. The number three overall pick finished with a game high 21 points while shooting 10-of-14 from the field. He also pitched in 4 rebounds and 3 assist and some lockdown defense on Gordon Hayward.

LVP: Gary Harris. The number one pick had a rough going his his debut scoring just 5 points on an awful 2-of-16 shooting from the field. The former Spartan didn't look comfortable at all out there on the court. Were the bright lights too much for the rook?

X-Factor: Anthony Bennett. Bennett played like a man possessed finishing with 20 points and a career high 19 rebounds in the win. Bennett said before the game that he wants to lead the league in rebounding this year. So far so good for the big man.

Rookie Watch: Zach Lavine. The lanky point guard got some burn since the game was a blowout but he scored just 1 point in his first game.

                          Final:
                          MIN | 30 | 23 | 24 | 25 | 102

Player of the Game: Andrew Wiggins
