    Timberwolves Trade Pekovic To Bucks

Minneapolis -- Timberwolves GM Tennell Williams announced that the team has traded Nikola Pekovic and two 2nd round picks to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for the Bucks 2014 1st round pick and point guard Ramon Sessions. With this move the Wolves continue their rebuild of the roster after trading away franchise player Kevin Love before the start of the season.

"I felt like Pek's large contract would hinder our rebuild process. I also felt he was hindering the development of Gorgui Dieng. No matter how we finish the season, we have taken a step in the right direction. We got a nice return for Love with Dion Waiters and Anthony Bennett playing great. We were able to shed Kevin Martin's, Budinger's, and Pek's large contracts. And we now have three first rounders in a talented draft."

Pekovic was averaging 17.3 ppg, 8.4 rpg, and 1.2 bpg for the Wolves. He will now slide into the starting center spot in Milwaukee playing alongside Larry Sanders. The Wolves get cap relief by getting the expiring contact of sessions and a extra 1st round pick.

        Spurs Down Timberwolves 107-101

Recap | Box Score | Highlights

MVP: Ton Parker. Parker led the way for the Spirs with a team high 20 points to go with his 4 assist. The 13th year point guard from France shot a red hot 10-of-13 from the field. Is this the game to that get the Spurs going after starting the season 13-24?

LVP: Ricky Rubio. Rubio failed to show up on offense and defense shooting a ugly 2-of-13 from the field and missing all five of three point attempts. Maybe Rubio should stick to his normal 3-5 attempts a game instead of trying to be a scorer.

X-Factor: Tim Duncan. The old man looked like a young Timmy out there against the Wolves finishing with 14 points, 17 rebounds, and was just short of a triple double with 6 assist.

Rookie Watch: Anthony Bennett. Bennett added a double double to his season total with a 18 point and 13 rebounds performance. He could've shot the ball better going 6-of-20 from the field in the loss.

Jazz Edge Timberwolves behind Favors' 23 Points

Recap | Box Score | Highlights

MVP: Derrick Favors. Favors had an impressive outing finishing with 23 points and 10 rebounds. He used his strength to bully Gorgui Dieng on his way to a 11-of-16 shooting night from the field. Favors also had a team high 2 steals in the victory.

LVP: Dion Waiters. Waiters had an off shooting night thanks to Gordon Hayward's length. Waiters scored a team best 21 points but he was held to 8-of-20 shooting. The last miss was costly as it could've won the game but it rimmed out as time expired.

X-Factor: Trey Burke. The former Wolverine had an efficient outing scoring 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting while also pitching in with 5 rebounds and 5 assist.

Rookie Watch: Anthony Bennett. Bennett pulled down a game high 12 rebounds and 2 blocks to go with his 16 points. It's become a neck and neck battle with him and Michael Carter-Williams for rookie of the year.

Bulls Survive OT Thriller Against Timberwolves

Recap | Box Score | Highlights

MVP: Joakim Noah. With Derrick Rose out with a knee injury, Noah had his best performance of the season scoring a season and career high 36 points while pulling down a game high 13 rebounds. A majority of Noah's points came of easy lay in's because of the Bulls constant driving attack which lead the Noah being wide open.

LVP: Dion Waiters. Bulls defensive stopper Jimmy Butler added Waiters to his list after holding him to 17 points on 7-of-23 shooting. Waiters has yet to learn that if your off, get the ball to the hot man instead of trying to do all by yourself.

X-Factor: Mike Dunleavy. Dunleavy came up big for the Bulls in OT scoring 9 of his 16 points in the extra period including the game winning three. He also chipped in 5 rebounds.

Rookie Watch: Anthony Bennett. Bennett had a great game in a losing effort finishing with a career high 35 points and 15 rebounds. The number one pick had his way with Boozer but the team failed to continue to play through him.
