        Timberwolves Squeak Past Wizards 100-98

Recap | Box Score | Highlights

MVP: Anthony Bennett. The number one pick in the draft played like one tonight as he led the Timberwolves with 28 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assist, and 2 blocks. Bennett did it from the inside and the outside even taking Nene off the dribble a few times.

LVP: Bradely Beal. Beal's slow start to the season continued needing 20 shots just to score 21 points. Beal's three ball wasn't falling but he continued to shot it and he burnt on the defensive end by Waiters all game long.

X-Factor: Ricky Rubio. Rubio only took one shot the entire game but he was in control of it for every minutes he was on the court. Rubio finished with 6 boards and 11 assist. That makes 10 games this season that he was 10+ assists.

Stat Of The Night: 64. The Tumberwolves shot a red hot 64% from three while the Wizards shot 29%

Paces Hold Off Timberwolves In Low Scoring Affair

Recap | Box Score | Highlights

MVP: Paul George. George overcome a 0 point 1st half to lead the Pacers in scoring and to the victory. PG also added 6 rebounds and 3 assist as he came up with some clutch baskets late in the 4th quarter.

LVP: Corey Brewer. Open look after open look Brewer continued to brick his way to a 4-of-11 shooting night finishing with 12 points. The strange this is he missed short range jumpers but went 4-of-9 from long range.

X-Factor: Andrew Bynum. The often injured center showed promise in his 9 minutes of action by making all four of his shots and grabbing 5 rebounds in the process. The Pacers continue to bring him along slowly in hopes of saving him for their playoff run.

Rookie Watch: Anthony Bennett. If you at Bennett's stat line outside of the shooting, he had a pretty good night racking up another double double (15 points and 17 rebounds to go with 3 assist.) But once you go down further you see he only shoot 4-of-17 from the field.

                          Timberwolves Sign Brown

Minnesota -- Today the Minnesota Timberwolves announced that they have signed former North Carolina State point guard Lorenzo Brown to a 2-year contract with an option for the 2nd year. Brown was drafted with the 52nd overall pick by the Timberwolves in the 2013 NBA draft.

Brown, a 6'5" guard from Roswell, Georgia, played for NC State from 2010 to 2013. He started all three seasons and led the Wolfpack to consecutive NCAA tournament appearances in 2012 and 2013. As a junior, Brown averaged 12.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and led the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in assists with 7.2 per game. At the close of the season, Brown was named second team All-ACC.

Brown will wear jersey number 7.

                              Waiters Leads Wolves Past Heat

Recap | Box Score | Highlights

MVP: Dion Waiters. Waiters scoring barrage continued as he dropped 29 on the Heat including 18 4th quarter points after the Heat rallied back to tie the game up. He also chipped in 7 rebounds and 9 assist, almost notching the triple double.

LVP: Ray Allen. Allen got the starting nod with Wade out with a broken wrist and was only able to produce 9 points in over 30+ minutes of action. The sharpshooter went 3-of-9 from the field and a shocking 3-of-6 from the charity stripe. Allen also failed to hit a three pointer missing all three of his attempts.

X-Factor: Lorenzo Brown. The 2nd round pick finished with 7 points, 3 boards, and 6 assist in his first NBA game. The 6'5 point guard also made life hard for Mario Chalmers and Ray Allen the few times he guarded him. J.J. Barea could see some of his minutes taken away.

Rookie Watch: Anthony Bennett and Shabazz Muhammad. Bennett was second in scoring behind Waiters finishing with 18 points and 6 rebounds in the win. In 9 minutes off the pine Muhammad scored 9 points on 50% shooting from the field.
