2023 1st Round Preview - Western Conf.

#1 Warriors vs #8 Thunder
The Warriors are improved with the addition of Chris Paul after beating the 76ers in the finals last year. You can never count Westbrook and even with a better 2nd option they don't have the players to beat Golden State. We say Warriors in 6.







#4 Lakers vs #5 Outlaws
Both starting C are out for this series in Whiteside (86 ovr) and 1st overall pick Darren Marshall (79 ovr). Its a feel good story that the Outlaws made the playoffs in year 3. The reality is they don't have they just don't have the talent to even make it to 6 games. Its a shame Marshall is hurt as he could use the playoff experience.

#3 Nuggets vs #6 Jazz
One of the surprises in the NBA the Nuggets getting the 3 seed and this should be the best series in the 1st round for the west. The Jazz on paper are the better team with Wiseman one of the 15 best players in the NBA. Nuggets backup SF Kostas Antetkounmpo (79 ovr) will miss the series. We say the Jazz pull the upset off in 6 games don't count on the Nuggets because there young PG is better then his rating.







#2 Timberwolves vs #7 Grizzles
Grizz didn't make a trade for a star player and far now and are still loaded with depth and young players who have yet to reach their potential not counting Cam Reddish. Justin Patton (81 ovr) a key bench player for the Wolves is out for the year. This is a huge playoff for the Wolves as they face cap trouble going into the summer. They should make quick work of the Grizz we are calling it a sweep.

2023 1st Round Preview - Eastern Conf.

#1 76ers vs #8 Bulls
If the bulls planned on catching the 76ers asleep they now have their full attention after a lose to them in the last game of the regular season cost them 70 wins. The Bulls have enough proven players, depth and young players to win everything so they aren't your typical 8 seed. We are still calling for the 76ers to win in 5 games.







#4 Celtics vs #5 Pistons
The Pistons are thin at wings as Kenyon Martin Jr (79 ovr) and Luke Kennard (80 ovr) are both out for the series. The Pistons still have a big 3 the problem is the Celtics have a big 5. The Celtics win in 6 and set up yet another 76ers vs Celtics matchup.






#3 Heat vs #6 Knicks
The heat are back in the playoffs all the way up to the 3 seed so overpaying for Parker is working out for them. The Knicks once again on paper should win this easy this team just doesn't play as good in reality as they do on paper. This could be Lebrons last series in New York so we say he finds a way to win in 7 games.







#2 Hawks vs #7 Raptors
The Hawks are just a better team then the Raptors so we say they win in 5 games. The Raptors found a way to win a series last year and with the midseason trade of Love they have a outside chance. This shouldn't be close though and the Hawks and 76ers should meet up in the ECF.

Bulls Game 1

It was a close game most of the night however the Bulls had a lead in the double digits in the 2nd half. The 76ers came back with a version of the death lineup in the 4th quarter to cut the lead to 1 point with under 2 minutes to go. This version had Samanic at C as Bol was having a horrible day on offense.

Robert Williams the Bulls All Star Center and defense juggernaut fouled out with a offense foul with 1:19 second to go and the 76ers down 1 point. Ben would get a offensive rebound and surprisingly hit both FTs on the next possession to give the 76ers a 1 point lead. Heyward hit a wide open 3 to put the bulls back up 2 points with only 26 seconds to go.

This was crunch time so with 26 seconds and tie game the 76ers faced a tough call. Do you just hold for basically the final shot of the game ? Do you just look for a good shot and see what happens knowing the skill players you have on defense? Ben has the ball and calls for a P&R and with no Robert Williams Embiid gets a easy dunk. The bad news 12 seconds are on the clock and a tie game.

The Bulls made a horrible inbound pass and Embiid got the steal on a boneheaded pass from backup SF Mushidi. Bol got the ball in the paint and had a chance to win the game and make up for a horrible shooting night for him. Bol missed the layup and Embiid gets the rebound seals the game with a layup with only .02 seconds on the clock and the 76ers escape with a 2 point win.

WHEW, that was a close win. Those Bulls had it right in their hands and threw it away -- advantage Sixers, as Chicago may have used their best stuff in Game 1.

Yea the bulls are a real pain in the neck Its going to be a tough series. I thought I was going to lose until Ben stepped up in the 4th.

Bulls Game 2 - D Locks Down Barrett

After a close game 1 that came down to the final seconds this one the 76ers win going away. Ben post a full stat line in his triple double 25-15-11-3-2 with Fultz and Embiid o scoring over 20 each. The defense held R.J Barrett to only 3 of 16 shooting. If the Bulls want any chance to come back and win the series they have to win both games at home.

Good win. Very good win, impressed with Simmons and Bol, both came to play. Bulls have their backs against the wall, got to win Game 3 for any chance to advance.

Game 2 was one that I simmed the CPU plays better then me with this team lol. ben has been playing lights out looks like I should have officially moved him to PG early. In a weird way I wish I didn’t have such a talented team so I could see what kind of stats bol could put up without embiid around.

I’ll have the next 2 games up tomorrow

That sim game win was a great boost. Bulls look like a tough out! Barrett is the key, you'll be better able you handle him in game 3 now hopefully.

Yea If I would just get out of the way and sim games I would have won a few titles by now lol. They aren't your typical 8th seed that's for sure.

Bulls Game 3 - Another Bad Game For Barrett

The 76ers unofficially end the series with a close 5 point victory. R.J Barrett for the 2nd straight game was held in check and despite a good overall game 10 points from him isn't enough to beat this 76ers team. Ben wasn't aggressive on offense this game taking only 4 shots and letting his teammates score he finished with a odd a statline of 6-10-14. Fultz and Embiid once again both scored over 20 and Bol was doing his usual grabbing 18 rebounds.

Bulls Game 4 - Another Close One

After back-to-back terrible games Bulls star R.J Barrett picked up his 5th foul late in the 3rd quarter with his team up 8 points. It was looking like the Bulls would extend the series up 9 points with fewer than 4 minutes to play in the 4th.

Fast forward a bit and 1:16 seconds to go and the 76ers down 4 points when Bol Bol gets a wide open look for 3 and nails it to cut the lead to 1. Josh Jackson then got a steal and finds Embiid for a easy shot and the 76ers are now up 1 with 1:02 to go. A reverse Ben dunk with 28 seconds remaining pushed the lead up to 3. Bol gets a steal on defense, but a shot clock violation gave the Bulls the ball back with 3.5 seconds. Coach Brown told the team to prevent the Bulls from getting a 3 off. They weren’t able to foul as nobody guarded the passer so Hayward nails a 3 at the buzzer to send the game to OT.

Josh Jackson hits a deep 3 off a P&R and the 76er go up 2 with 49 seconds remaining. Barret would pick up his 6th foul with 28 seconds to go and Embiid hit 1 FT making it a 3 point game. Lavine would tie the game on a wide-open corner 3 so the 76ers get the ball tied with 18 seconds. Ben would push his way into the paint for a layup with a few seconds to go and the 76ers up 2. Josh Jackson would seal the game with a block and it was a sweep with Ben Simmons playing the best basketball of his career.

I didn't know he could do that either until I heard the announcers talking about him putting on a show during the pre-game... I think against Atlanta.

That is a very similar picture and I know he tested really well at the combine in real life. I don't know what his athletic rating is for me I don't think its good. If he was able to do this on a consistent basis he would have done more then being a shooter deep off my bench.
