    SAN FRANCISCO (74-53)

USF kept things close in the 1st half trailing (33-29) but BSU stepped up their game on both sides of the court holding the Don's to just 24 points in the 2nd half well scoring 41 of their own.

SR SF J. Melvin (19.2 PPG) led USF in the loss with 18 points and was the only player in double digits for the Don's.

      BRUINS MOUNT COMEBACK OVER BRONCOS!!!

Boise State improved to 9-1 on the season with a commanding win over Cal (78-60) with 4 players hitting double digits led by R. Cowans who scored a season high 17 pts hitting 3/4 from deep well also dishing out a team high 5 assists.

BSU then traveled to UCLA for a Dec 22nd matchup with the Broncos. Boise State fans were hoping for a early Christmas present and the team almost delivered.

It was back and forth through the 1st half with neither team ever having more then a 4 point lead but it was UCLA going into the locker room up (43-42).

Boise State however would open the 2nd half with a 8-0 run to make it (50-42) and keep that 8 point lead pretty much the entire half until there was 2 minutes to play. UCLA would make their run hitting a trio of 3's to take the lead (96-95) with less then a minute to play.

UCLA would pack the post forcing the Broncos to try and score from the outside, but cold night would continue as BSU finishes the night 2/14 from deep including 3 miss's in the final minute as UCLA wins the game from the charity strip. FINAL SCORE UCLA-103 BSU-95

UCLA was led by Trio of players.
      JR PG H. Samuels had 24 pts (4/5 3pt) with 8 assists.

SR SG E. Stukes had 19 pts (3/3 3pt) with a team high 10 assists to finish with a double double

SR SF E. Peterson scored 24 pts despite shooting 9/23 FG and 4/10 3pt.

For Boise State it was a career night from Freshman C. Toumou who finished with a career high and team high 26 pts well adding 6 rebounds.

SO V. Rasmussen also hit the 20 pt mark with 21 pts and grabbed a team high 9 rebounds finishing just 1 shy of a double double

BRONCOS WIN'S COME AT A COST!!

Boise State opened WAC play doing what they do best winning their first 3 games of the season to improve to 13-2 Overall, but it came at a cost as the Broncos lose starting SG D. Nagata in their win over New Mexico opening the door for 5* AA Freshman Jeremy Moore to join the starting rotation seeing if more minutes will break him out of his shooting slump.

            VS NEW MEXICO (WON 88-58)

Nagata would go down 7 minutes in with a leg injury and is reported to miss the next 3-4 weeks.

Moore came off the bench to fill in but struggled going just 3/7 FG 0/4 3pt and finishes with 7 pts 4 reb and 6 assists.

Freshman C. Tourmou continues his WAC FOY and NCAA FOY campaign dropping a double double off the bench with 21 pts 10 reb and 5 blks well I. Dilligard (14 pts 3/3 3pt), V. Led 50-33 at the half and held the Spartans to just 17 2nd half points.

Moore was the only starter to not hit double digits as he finishes with 6 points all coming off free throws.

Len Bullicer-15 pts 6 reb, V. Rasmussen-16 pts 3 rebs, Cowans-15 pts 5 ast and D. Andres-10 pts 6 rebs were the other double digit scorers.

            FRESNO STATE (WON 75-74)

The Bulldogs came close to the upset as B. Boyden drops 26 pts and 9 rebs in the loss. Fresno had a chance to tie the game and force OT but D. Willingham's 3pt shot would fall short at the buzzer. He finished 3/7 from 3pt scoring 14 pts.

Toumou led the way with 17 pts and 8 rebounds, well Rasmussen added 13 pts and 9 rebounds as the only 2 Bronco's in double digits. Moore finished with 7 pts going 3/5 FG 1/3 3pt.

BRONCOS DROP BACK TO BACK AT HOME!!

For the first time in the Coach Scott era, the Boise State Broncos have dropped back to back home games and have now matched their last season loss total in conference play just 5 games in, making them (13-4) Overall on the season. The loss's also drop BSU back to #25 in the Top-25 Media Poll and out of the Coaches Poll.

              VS IDAHO (LOSS 82-69)

Scored just 27 points in the 1st half and trailed (45-27). Missed 6 straight 3's in the 2nd half before giving up and trying to mount my comeback inside the paint but Idaho matched me buckets for buckets (42-37) for the most part.

              D. Boeckman had a double double with 23 pts and 11 rebs well P Westphal added 20 pts 7 reb hitting 4/7 3pt and J. Walcott added 13 pts on 3/3 3pt.

Rough losses. Is Nagata missing the biggest reason? How long is he out for?

It's like a punch in the gut anytime I lose to Idaho in any Sports game. Nagata is expected to miss 24 days (3-4 weeks) so he will be back before I close out WAC play and will be available for all tournaments unless something happens.

Moore is struggling though. I guess the CPU must have known something when non of the CPU schools offered him a scholarship. I don't know what the deal is but I am struggling to hit shots. His best attribute is his mid range but I typically don't shoot alot of mid range shots in my offense.. Nagata is my best 3pt shooter, so I need him back if I plan on making any kind of run in the tournament again.

                    BRONCOS BOUNCE BACK AFTER LOSS'S!!

Back to Back loss's at home to Idaho and La Tech was maybe the wakeup call BSU needed after winning back to back titles in the WAC the past 2 seasons, BSU is the team everyone wants to beat.

Hawaii knew it was their time to attack with the Broncos missing D. Nagata and reeling from the 2 loss's the Warriors pushed BSU to the highest scoring game of Coach Scott's career.

The first half was a all out firestorm of offensive as Hawaii takes a 6 point lead into the locker room up (61-55).

                    Coach Scott
"We have held teams to less then 61 points in 8 games this season for a entire game, so to see them put up 61 points in the 1st half, I was livid. I told the guy's at half, they could just finish the game without me because it was a embarrassment"
With Nagata out and Moore still struggling to find anything that looks like a offensive game, SR J. Toole saw some extended minutes at SG and came up with 14 2nd half points including a pair of 3's in the final minute that saw the Broncos tie the game and force Overtime.

Freshman C. Toumou took over in OT scoring 8 of his team high 25 pts and 8 of the 11 points the Broncos scored as BSU snaps the losing streak with a (126-121) victory.

                    R. Len Bullicer added 19 pts and 3 reb well SR SF D. Andres had a season high 18 pts 4 reb and 5 assists. PG R. Cowans also added 18 pts and had a team high 8 assists well hitting 2/7 from 3pt.

                    B. Sparks had 32 pts in the loss hitting 3/6 from deep. R. Blankenship and D. Ames each had 20 points and Freshman B. Legge had 19 pts and 8 rebounds off the bench for the Warriors.

After a insane game in which the Broncos played zero defense, BSU was a completely different team @ Utah State, as they shutdown SR SF L. Whitaker early with 2 fouls in the 1st half and then again in the 2nd half.

Whitaker would play just 8 minutes and score just 2 points after entering the game with a 19.1 PPG. Whitaker wasn't the only Aggie to fall into foul trouble as starting PF E. Nielsen and starting C. R. Stafford also finished with 4 fouls, leaving SR PG M. Moodrovich as the only player to hit double digits for the Aggies in the loss. Final Score BSU-81 USU-41

For Boise State after all 5 starters logged over 30 minutes in the Hawaii win, it was the BSU bench coming up big scoring 38 points once again led by Freshman C. Toumou who once again posts a double double of 15 pts and 10 rebounds. I. Dilligard added 14 pts and 8 rebounds hitting 2/4 from 3pt, well R. Len Bullicer (15 pts 4 reb 3 blks) and V. Rasmussen (11 pts 9 reb) were the double digit scorers from the starting unit.

BSU WILL HOST (14-7) NEVADA AT HOME TO CLOSE OUT THE 1ST HALF OF WAC PLAY.

WOLFPACK HAND BRONCOS 3RD LOSS AT HOME!!

Nevada won their 15th game of the season knocking off the Broncos in their 1st matchup of the year as BSU drops it's 3rd straight game at home in Extra-Mile Arena. FINAL SCORE NEVADA-84 BOISE STATE-72

JR SG D. Nagata returned to the starting lineup but struggled going 2/7 from the floor including 0/2 from 3pt as he scores 4 points dishing out a team high 5 assists.

It was also a season low for Freshman C. Toumou who entered the game leading the Broncos with a 15.7 PPG but Toumou would struggle picking up 3 early fouls and would finish just 1/7 from the floor scoring 2 points.

R.Len Bullicer as also held to single digits scoring 8 points on 4/1 FG.

The 1 player who looked better was 5* AA Freshman J. Moore who scored a season high and career high 12 pts hitting 7/7 from the stripe and 1/2 from 3pt.

For Nevada it was Senior PF C. Wilson putting up 29 points and grabbing 7 rebounds well Soph R. Montrimas (a BSU recruit) finished with 16 points and 7 rebounds.

BSU WILL TRAVEL TO NEW MEXICO STATE ON SATURDAY. THE AGGIES HAVE LOST 5 STRAIGHT SINCE THEIR LAST MEETING WITH THE BRONCOS AND ARE 1-7 CURRENTLY IN WAC PLAY

BRONCOS WIN 3 IN A ROW!!!

After losing their 5th game of the season to move to (15-5) and 5-3 in WAC play, Boise State would win 3 in a row to improve to (18-5) and 8-3 and into a 1st place tie with Nevada for the WAC regular season title.

                        Game 1 @ New Mexico State (W) 93-50

BSU would bounce back from the loss on Thursday to the Wolfpack by scoring 52 points in the 1st half to take a (52-37) lead into the locker room. The Defense then went to work limiting the Aggies to just 13 points in the 2nd half as NMSU failed to have a single player score in double digits. 6'10 SO PF T.Kolturn led the team with 9 points and 9 rebounds.

For BSU it was Soph Veron Rasmussen leading the way with a season/career high 23 pts and 8 rebounds. Seniors D. Andres (15 pts) and R. Cowans (12 pts 6 asts) as well as Freshman C. Toumou (13 pts) hit double digits.

Game 2 vs San Jose State (W) 86-36

A tale of 2 halves. It looked like San Jose State was about to hand the Broncos the 4th WAC loss of the year taking at (50-36) lead in the 1st half but D. Nagata came up with his best game of the season scoring 16 points in the 2nd half hitting 4/7 from deep the combo of R. Len Bullicer (17 pts 5 reb) and C. Toumou (11 pts 7 reb) got things done in the post. Nagata added 3 rebounds 4 assists and 3 steals for a very solid all around game.

                        Game 3 vs Fresno State (W) 76-64

Injuries would strike again as SR SF D. Andres leaves the game just 2 minutes in. Coach Scott goes big inserting 6'8 PF V. Rasmussen at the SF spot playing both Len Bullicer and Toumou in the post for the rest of the game, giving 6'9 SO V. Robinson the majority of the minutes off the bench spelling the combo.

Toumou (11 pts 11 reb) and Len Bullicer (9 pts 7 reb) both played well, but it was Robinson coming up with a season high 11 pts to lead the 2nd unit.

Andres is expected to miss the next 2 weeks (2 games @ La Tech and @ Idaho)

BRONCOS SWEEP HIT 20 WIN MARK!!

Boise State picked up a pair of win's this week over La Tech and Idaho getting revenge for 2 earlier season loss's and moved to (20-5) on the season. Coach Scott has now won 20 or more games in every season he has coached and owns a (121-39) record in 2 seasons at UC Riverside and 3 seasons at BSU.

The Broncos will still need to close out the year with 3 more wins including a rematch with Nevada if they want to win the WAC regular season title though.

                          @ LA TECH (W) 91-62

Boise State dominated the 1st half as all 5 starters hit double digits to give the Broncos a (60-31) lead. The Bulldogs played a much better 2nd half (31-31) but in the end 7 BSU players would finish with double digit scores.

Freshman C. Toumou making his 2nd start of the season led the team with a great game on both ends of the court finishing with 19 pts 9 rebounds 4 steals and 4 blocks.

Fellow Freshman J. Moore had his best game of his career as well finishing with a career high 14 pts and dishing out 4 assists hitting 2/3 from deep.

                          I. Dilligard matched Moore's 14 pts and added 7 rebounds off the bench well Cowans had 12 pts and V. Rasmussen, D. Nagata, and R. Len Bullicer each had 10 pts.

JR PG K. Danellus had a double double in the loss with 10 pts and 12 assists.

                          @ IDAHO (W) 100-70

For the 3rd time this season, BSU has hit the century mark as Boise State now ranks #3 in PPG in the nation behind UCLA and Syracuse and is in the Top-5 for the 2nd straight season.

Leading (41-28) at the half, Coach Scott gave his starters some much need rest as the BSU bench combines for 37 points including 28 in the 2nd half.

But for the 2nd straight game it was actually Freshman C. Toumou taking POG honors. Toumou led the Broncos with 21 pts well Senior R. Len Bullicer added 19 pts and 8 rebs. D. Nagata finished with 14 pts and 6 assists hitting 2/3 from deep.

                          I. Dilligard led the bench with 11 pts, well J. Moore and J. Toole each had (9 pts) and V. Robinson added 8 pts.

7'0 JR D. Boeckerman had 26 pts in the loss

                            SOLD OUT SENIOR NIGHT!!

Boise State's quest for a 3rd straight WAC regular season title will come down to next Saturday's matchup with Nevada as BSU moves to (22-5/12-3) on the season with a pair of victories this week.

                            VS HAWAII (W) 72-51

Nothing like the (126-121) OT victory in Hawaii last month, this game was more of a defensive battle. BSU would lead (39-31) at the half and hold the Warriors to just 20 points in the 2nd half as Hawaii goes 7/33 from 3pt.

SR SF B. Sparks led Hawaii with a double double of 18 pts and 11 rebs in the loss but it was his 2/14 from deep that stood out most in the stat columns.

For BSU the lead led to some bench players seeing starter type minutes as Soph I. Dilligard leads the team with a season high 16 pts.

Senior D. Andres returned from his injury and came off the bench to added 10 pts 6 rebounds and 2 steals.

                            Coach Scott
"It was good to get Dannorris back. He has been a huge part of our team the past 4 years and I knew he wanted to play on Senior night Saturday, so we though we would ease him back into some PT after missing the past 2 games (2 weeks)."

                            VS UTAH STATE (W) 85-81

It was Senior Night as SG J. Toole joins the starting lineup with Nagata coming off the bench. D. Andres also started at SF with V. Rasmussen going to PF and C. Toumou coming off the bench.

BSU would lead (48-43) at the half. Utah State would make a run in the 2nd half and actually lead by 6 with 6 minutes to play but a pair of 3's would tie the game and another 3 would give BSU the lead with under 4 minutes to play. Then with less then 30 seconds to play BSU Senior R. Cowans hit's another 3pt to make it (83-81). Utah State would get a chance to tie the game and force OT but after a missed bucket they were forced to foul as J. Tool hits both FT to seal the win.

It was a tough night for the Seniors though. Cowans finished with 5 pts, Toole had 4 pts and 3 assists. Andres ended up with 0 points well R. Len Bullicer had 11 pts.

                            C. Toumou was actually POG with 19 pts 9 rebounds and 3 steals, well fellow FR J. Moore added 11 pts 4 reb and 4 assists.

BSU WILL TAKE ON (20-9) NEVADA FOR THE WAC REGULAR SEASON TITLE. A LOSS AND THE 2 TEAMS WOULD SPLIT IT THE TITLE

                              BRONCOS 3-PEAT!!

Coach Scott is now 3 for 3 since arriving at Boise State with WAC Regular season championships, as the Broncos extend their winning streak to 8 games since losing to Nevada at home earlier in the season.

With the win the Broncos move to (23-5) on the season and continue to hold on to the #18 Top-25 Media Ranking and the #1 Mid-Major Ranking.

The Wolfpack gave it their all and trailed by just 3 points going into the half (50-47) behind 14 points from Senior Chis Wilson who entered the game with a 20.2 PPG average (2nd in the WAC). Wilson would continue to be the star in the 2nd half as he scores 21 points to finish with a game high 35 points, but in the end it was the lack of supporting help that cost Nevada the win (not another player in double digits) as BSU wins the game (96-86)

For Boise State it was a team effort with 5 players in double digits led by Senior D. Andres who scored a season high 19 pts off the bench with Freshman Cory Toumou getting his 3rd start of the season. Toumou finished with 15 pts 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. Fellow bigman R. Len Bullicer added 11 pts and 3 blks well the backcourt of R. Cowans (16 pts 4 assists 2/3 3pt) and D. Nagata (10 pts 5 assists 2/2 3pt) kept the Wolfpack honest on "D".

Freshman D. Moore seems to have found his game coming off the bench to add 9 pts and 6 assists hitting 2/4 from deep as the Broncos as a team finished 8/15 from beyond the arc.

                                WILD WILD WEST!!

In a typical year the WAC generally sends 1 team to the NCAA Tournament and that team is the Conference Champ. However with Boise State's emergence on the national scene, and 3 other WAC programs having successful years, the WAC finished with the #7 RPI in the nation, ahead of the Big Ten (RPI #9), WCC (#8) and Mountain West (#10).

Boise State with a RPI of #8 is expected to be a Top seed in the tournament for the 2nd straight year.

(17-9) Idaho finished with a RPI of #35 and is expected to get their first NCAA invite since 1990 and just the 5th in school history.

(18-8) Utah State finished with the #43 RPI and also is considered a favorite on the Bubble watch. The Aggies have been to 17 dances with their last coming in 2005.

(21-9) Nevada finishes with the #64 after losing to Boise. However if they can make a run in the tournament and knock off 2 of the Top-3 schools on their way, the the Wolfpack's resume could get them in off the Bubble.

(12-17) New Mexico State will play (8-21) San Jose State with the winner advancing to take on #1 seed Boise State.

Idaho will take on (16-12) Fresno State with the winner advancing to play th BSU game winner.

Utah State will play (15-15) Hawaii well Nevada will take on (13-15) La Tech.

                                Coach Scott
"I could totally see Nevada making a run if they beat La Tech and Utah State and play in the Championship they will have alot of "MO" going for them to get it done. Do I think having 4 teams potentially is a good thing for the WAC? Of Course. Do I really want to have Idaho or Nevada or Utah State beat us to get it done? Not at all".
