    Seattle Mariners (MVP 05)

So I went to my first, ever MLB game today (Mariners/D-Rays) and instantly fell in love with the game of baseball and realized why I loved the Mariners so much. Before the game, I was a mere, casual fan of baseball.

Anywho, my Marlins dynasty got really stale, prolly from all of those trades, so I will start a new dynasty with my favorite team - the Seattle Mariners.

This dynasty, will indeed stick. With a little over 2 weeks of school left, I am sure that I will play an entire season with the M's. I'll also make it a bit more fun with "magazine-type" articles here and there.

So... with that said, let's go M's.

All the good stuff is coming up next.

              Batting Lineup

              #1 - RF, Ichiro
With an MLB record, 262 hits last season, Ichiro looks to continue his hitting ways into the 2005 campaign. With his flawlass contact hitting, Ichiro will bat lead off - as usual.

              #2 - LF, Randy Winn

Winn is a solid, though not great, hitter. He finds himself at #2 for the M's.

              #3 - 3B, Adrian Beltre
Beltre will be looking to hit his 1000th career hit this season. His powerful ways puts him at #3 in the lineup.

              #4 - 1B, Richie Sexson

The powerful slugger had his season cut short with the D'Backs. After signing a big time deal with the M's, the Washington native will bat 4th.

              #5 - DH, Raul Ibanez

With a new position, Ibanez can focus on hitting rather than playing outfield. He may have time on the field when starters are given rest, but for now, the solid hitter will take it easy batting 5th.

              #6 - 2B, Bret Boone

The aging Bret Boone finds himself lower than the previous season, batting 6th. If he can find the pop in his bat like his former self, Boone may rise up the lineup.

              #7 - CF, Jeremy Reed
The young, hot prospect, will bat 7th looking to impress the team and it's fans.

              #8 - SS, Willie Bloomquist

Bloomquist finally got what he wanted last season - a chance to start everyday. After beating out the likes of Pokey Reese, Jose Lopez, and Wilson Valdez in Spring Training, Bloomquist will bat 8th with 3 players pressuring him to the fullest extent.

              #9 - C, Miguel Olivo
Olivo is a streaky hitter with his good and bad days. For the most part, he will bat 9th, but may move up in games against lefties.

                  Main Article:
An interview with the Mariner's new GM/Owner, Charlie Brown.

Mariners Mania: So Mr. Brown, what's the goals and expectations for this season?

                  Charlie Brown:
Obviously, for every team, the goal is to win it all. My expectations for this team is to contend for the division title - simple as that.

                  MM:
With the signings of Beltre and Sexson, is this the team to watch this season?

CB: Of course! We will surprise many. It's not like we'll do as bad as last season.

                  MM: Anything else to add?

                  CB:
Watch the M's this season. They are the team to beat. Just wait and see.

I better not have to sign up for exclusive Mariners Mania coverage or I'm going to be pissed!

Good luck man, hopefully you won't make many trades and keep it as realistic as possible.

Thanks man. I will try to keep this as realistic as possible. Plus... since I'm playing with my favorite team, I don't think I can trade anyone based on emotional attachment alone.

                            M's Season Debut...

In a somewhat, bland season opener, the Seattle Mariners beat the Minnesota twins to the tune of a 3-1 victory. The only runs batted in were by Randy Winn, who hit a 2 run homeun.

Ichiro played well, going 2 of 3 - both for extra bases of a double and triple.

Lew Ford was the bright spot of the Twins, going 3 of 4 with a run.

                            Seattle plays game two tomorrow.
