What other inning did you score in? It only shows you scored 5.

Sorry... I scored 3 in the 6th, not 2. I really have to look over my posts before I submit them.

4 Runs Scored in 7th Heaven Leads to Win...

Ryan Franklin should buy today's lineup some dinner, as he picked up his second win of the season by way of a 4 run 7th inning.

Franklin struggled throughout the game, giving up 3 runs in the first 3 innings. However, luck came his way in the 7th inning, when Ichiro, Adrian Beltre, and co. delivered an electrifying 4 runs.

Ichiro bested everyone with 3 RBI on 2 doubles and a triple.

Seattle has a chance to sweep tomorrow, something that they have failed to do so far this season.

                Sweeping in Seattle...

Fans of today's game certainly got their money's worth, as the M's fought back hard and strong in the game. Facing a 0-2 deficit in the ninth inning, Bret Boone hit an RBI single. After a walk received by Dan Wilson, and one out, Buckey Jacobsen hit a long RBI sacrifice fly sending Adrian Beltre home for the tying run.

By the tenth inning, it looked to be over when Bobby Madritsch pitched a fat one to Coco Crisp who sent it to the upper seats of left field for a homerun.

However, Adrian Beltre kept his composure when it was the M's turn to hit. With Ichiro and Randy Winn on first and second, respectively, Adrian Beltre took a 2-2 count pitch and blasted it for a walk off homerun, his 3rd homerun of the season.

Fans rejoyced as the M's swept the Indians, 3 games to none.

                    M's Welcome Brother Boone

In a surprising move, the Seattle Mariner's management traded for 3B/IF Aaron Boone of the Cleveland Indians, just a day after playing against him.

                    Aaron Boone

Boone, younger brother of M's second baseman, Bret Boone, was recently signed in the offseason, but missed the 2004 season after sustaining an injury in the '04 offseason. He will start in front of Willie Bloomquist and Pokey Reese at shortstop.

Bloomquist is not a good hitter and should play better coming off the bench as a pinch hitter/runner. With his versatile play, Bloomquist can start at virtually any position when a player needs rest. He will most likely start at center field against lefties.

Reese, a liability on offense, will come of the bench as Seattle's best pinch runner. His defensive efforts allow the M's to put him in at second base or shortstop as a defensive specialist.

Boone is not known for his hitting, but does fairly well against right handed pitchers. He is currently batting a .214 average with 1 RBI in 19 games. He owns a powerful and accurate arm and is a solid baserunner. He can also lay down a few bunts here and there. He will bat eighth for the M's, behind Jeremy Reed.

"It should be a fun season with my little bro," said Bret Boone, "It'll be just like the old days of little league."

Cleveland received relief pitcher, Ron Villone, a strong left handed pitcher who is struggling to find playing time in the M's organization. He has currently logged in seven innings with an ERA of more than six and is the M's last go-to guy from the pen.

"We have our left handed relief pitcher in Bobby (Madritsch)," said GM/Owner, Charlie Brown, "and Ron (Villone) would not get much playing time. We felt that he does deserve some sort of role and decided to trade him to a team that will utilize him the best."

Villone failed to comment on playing for a new team. It is likely that Villone will play the long relief pitcher/set-up man role in Cleveland.

If the Mariners do need another lefty in the bullpen, the young, Travis Blackley from AAA-Tacoma is ready to step in. Other notable pitchers to watch for from AAA-Tacoma include Rafael Soriano and Felix Hernandez. But for now, manager, Mike Hargrove, is happy with their current pen.

Concluded Brown, "This acquisition should help the ball club, tremendously. It should be fun watching the Boone brothers turning double plays and driving each other in for runs."

Aaron Boone will debut along the side of older brother, Bret, against Kenny Rogers and the Texas Rangers.

Good trade Charles. Not a blockbuster, but definitely a solid move on your part. I like it.

                        M's Come From Behind...

Seattle deserved to win this game, as they fought back hard to take the win. Facing a 4-3 deficit in the sixth, Adrian Beltre hit an RBI double, sending new-comer, Aaron Boone, home. This tied the game at 4 apiece.

In the eighth, it was Adrian Beltre, again, as he sent home Ichiro from second base on an RBI single. This gave Seattle the lead and eventual win.

Aaron Boone made his debut a strong one, going 3 of 5 with a run, but was caught stealing. He bested big brother, Bret, who went 1 of 5.

Seattle has won 4 in a row and stand tall at 14-6.

M's Rally in 8th to Win...

Another close game equals another M's victory. This time, Seattle's Bret Boone was the hero, batting in Adrian Beltre in for the game leading win in the eighth inning. Sexson later scored via a Jeremy Reed RBI single and Buckey Jacobsen sent in Randy Winn for some insurance in the ninth inning.

Despite a sluggish start, Joel Pineiro picked up his fourth win of the season in as many attempts. He pitched 7 innings, allowed an ER on 5 hits, and pitched 5 Ks.

Seattle has swept two series in a row, and look for their third in a series at Oakland.

                              Franklin Fails to Finish..

Ryan Franklin had this game won, but a Bobby Crosby homerun cut the deficit to one followed by an Erubial Durazo 2 run homerun, put the game out of reach for Seattle.

Despite a 2-0 lead through 5 innings, Seattle could not score anymore runs after that, as their six game win streak was cut short.

Ichiro had 2 triples and an RBI, but it was not enough. Randy Winn followed up with a 1 of 3, RBI performance with Aaron Boone chipping in with 3 singles and a stolen base.

                              Seattle falls to 16-7.

Sele Goes the Whole Nine Innings..

Aaron Sele pitched a gem today - a complete game shutout to help the Mariners beat the A's, 2-0. Sele had 6 Ks, scattered 5 hits, and allowed 0 runs en route to his 3rd win of the season.

"I have to give a lot of credit to the defense," said Sele, "They really bailed me out a couple of times."

He was correct. Most notably, were the defensive efforts of the Boone brothers. Aaron Boone dove for many balls that were would-be singles, but he threw out three for outs. Older brother, Bret Boone, had a couple of nice catches as well.

However, offensivley, they left a lot to be desired. The two combined for an 0 of 5 performance.

But it was no matter, as Ichiro, Jeremy Reed, and Richie Sexson picked up the slack. Ichiro had two triples on a 2 of 4 night, Reed went 3 of 4 with an RBI and stolen base, and Sexson had an RBI single.

Seattle rises to 17-7 and finish up the series tomorrow.
