    Hansen's Hot...

Dave Hansen, perhaps one of the best pinch hitters in the game, hit the game winning RBI single in the top of the ninth to help the Mariners beat the White Sox.

"I saw a good pitch to hit and just smacked it," said Hansen.

Hansen drove in Raul Ibanez from third which was the eventual game winning run.

But pinch hits don't stop there, as Dan Wilson pinched hit for Miguel Olivo. Wilson drove in the game tying run in the 8th.

Randy Winn's hit streak was cut short in this game, as he was hitless in 4 at bats.

      Close Call...

The White Sox beat the M's in a close, thrilling victory today. Even with 7 hits apiece, the game was an entertaining one, as Shingo Takatsu helped the White Sox win the ball game. With his unique pitching delivery and off speed pitches, Takatsu retired the likes of Adrian Beltre, Raul Ibanez, and Richie Sexson to close out the game and pick up the save.

Between those three batters, they mustered out a total of one hit - a single by Adrian Beltre.

The M's close out the series, with it being tied 1-1.

        Another Close One...

In the third straight game decided by 2 runs or lower, the M's came away victorious thanks to the 3-4-5-6 batters in the 8th inning. Adrian Beltre, Richie Sexson, Raul Ibanez, and Bret Boone orchestrated a 4 run 8th inning to help Seattle in the win.

All four went 3 of 5, with Bret Boone besting them with 2 doubles and 3 RBI - including the game winning 2 RBI double.

Eddie Guardado picked up his 7th save in the M's 12th game of the season.

Freddy Garcia pitched well against his former team, going 7 innings and pitching 7 Ks. However, the White Sox pen faltered and could not put the game away.

            Powerful Ninth Plugs a Win...

The Seattle Mariners were facing a 3-3 deadlock in the top of the ninth, but that all changed as the M's surged a 6 run inning. Luck was on their side as five of those runs were scored on two costly errors by Orlando Cabrera and Garrett Anderson.

Seattle finishes the series tomorrow in hopes of a sweep.

                Halos Come From Behind...

The LA Angeles had a tremendous 4 run 6 inning after facing a 4-1 deficit and a Chone Figgins homerun in the 7th put the game out of reach for Seattle.

Steve Finley led the attack in the 6th with a 3 run homerun for his 3rd of the season.

Seattle had a solid game going through 6 innings. But Aaron Sele ruined the groove with his 5 ER pitching outing.

Mike Hargrove chose a different lineup in the game, giving Miguel Olivo time to rest and Willie Bloomquist came off the bench; this gave starts to Dan Wilson and Wilson Valdez.

                Seattle falls to 9-5.

                      Damn pant ****ter changed it....

He had "6" in the top of the 9th, even though it showed him only scoring 4 runs.

Seattle's Six in Sixth Helps in Win..

The Seattle Mariners played great offense all around in the game - especially in a 6 run 6th inning.

Jeremy Reed led the way, going 3 of 4 and blasting out his 2nd homerun of the season. He also had 3 RBI and 2 runs.

All players with an AB attempt registered a hit, with the exception of sub, Dave Hansen, who went 0 for 1 with an RBI sacrifice fly.

Gil Meche nearly pitched a complete game shutout, but he gave up an Eric Chavez homerun in the ninth. He had 6 Ks.

Seattle, winning their 10th of the season, can sweep their hated rivals tomorrow.

On a side note, shortstop, Pokey Reese, was called back up to the majors. Wilson Valdez will be demoted to AAA-Tacoma and Reese will start at shortstop ahead of Willie Bloomquist.
