Boone's GS in 1st Helps in Win...
Bret Boone hit a grand slam in the 1st inning, hit an RBI single in the 6th, and made great defensive plays in the win. Jeff Conine came off the bench and hit a 3 run homerun in 7th, while Jamie Moyer was more than holding his own in the pitching department.
Moyer had a shutout going, and came up 2 outs short of one. He got out of a bases loaded, 1 out jam in the 8th, but gave up another bases loaded situation in the 9th. Vernon Wells came up and hit a 2 RBI single into center field.
Seattle had a spectacular defensive effort in the game, as corner outfielders, Randy Winn and Ichiro robbed would-be homeruns by Shea Hillenbrand and Frank Catalanotto.
Seattle ended the month on a high note with a 3 game win streak.
