Despite the fact that the game was incredibly boring, the Mariners won their second straight giving them a quick 2-0 record for the season.
It was a complete defensive game, as defensive efforts by Adrian Beltre, Bret Boone, and Ichiro helped decide the winning score.
Johan Santana and Joel Pineiro were involved in a pitcher's duel, with Santana having the better stats, but Pineiro picking up the win. Santana pitched 7 Ks, allowed 3 hits and an ER in 8 innings of work. Pineiro allowed 5 hits, 0 runs, and handed out 3 Ks in 8 innings of work as well.
Seattle goes for the sweep tomorrow with Ryan Frankling going up against Carlos Silva.

In Seattle's first loss, Ryan Franklin allowed 7 earned runs. His piss poor pitching caused a loss. Franklin started off well, but his 3 runs allowed in the 5th, led to 4 more earned runs in the 6th.
Shannon Stewart took advantage of Franklin's struggles, going 2 of 5 with 5 RBI - including a 2-run homerun for his first of the season.
Seattle had the hits to stay in the game, but the lack of runs scored could not put up a win.
