          That's only part of it.

          Here's the reason:

          Northeastern University is located at the site of the old Huntington Avenue Grounds, the first home of the Boston Americans (now known as the Red Sox). The statue of Cy Young is on the exact spot of where the pitcher's mound was located when he used to pitch for them.

            First Half

            Causey makes two free throws and Lett slams in a dunk on a fast break then after Lalugba hits a 3pter, Stephenson jams in a dunk. Boone sinks a turnaround jumper and Lett stuffs in a dunk on a fast break to give Old Dominion an 8-5 lead with just under 15:00 left. Asseo and Stephenson trade layups then after Matera drops in a layup, Becker and Wentt trade jumpers as the Monarchs are up by one, 12-11, halfway through the opening period. Mattera buries a short turnaround jumper and after Causey and Bass trade layups, Causey and Bass trade jumpers. After Becker nails a short fallaway jumper, Old Dominion leads by three, 22-19, with 5:00 left. Ray banks in a layup on a fast break then Bass and Matera hit jumpers to pull Northeastern to within one at the half. Bass leads Northeastern with 8 points and Causey leads Old Dominion with 8.

            Second Half
            Lett slams in a couple of dunks on fast breaks and Boone puts in a layup on a fast break as the second half opens on a defensive note and Old Dominion has a seven point lead, 30-23, with under 15:00 remaining. Northeastern starts to answer back as Stephenson and Latovic nail jumpers as the Huskies pull to within one, 30-29, midway through the second half. Matera lays in a rebound and after he makes 1 of 2 free throws, Gill jams in a dunk on a fast break. Matera cans two free throws then after Lett hits a 3pter, Causey drops in a layup. Lalugba buries a 3pter and Dunnington banks in a jumper then Becker drains two free throws to pull the Monarchs to within four, 41-37, with 5:00 left. Latovic swishes a jumper and after Grizzard makes two free throws, Latovic buries another jumper. After Dickey cans two free throws and Asseo slams in a dunk on a fast break, Causey puts in a layup on a fast break to tie the game with 1:03 to go. Lalugba sinks a 3pter with 32.3 to play then Becker tips in a rebound with 14.2 on the clock. Old Dominion starts fouling and Latovic makes only the front end of the 1-and-1, giving Northeastern a two point lead. The Monarchs get the ball upcourt but a jumper by Lett hits off the rim at the buzzer to end the game.

              Oh. Interesting. I knew they played at the Huntington Grounds until Fenway opened in 1912, but I didn't even think about that.

                        I didn't think that I would get in after leaving the Colonial tournament early. Lucky for us the RPI was good enough plus we won 20 games, although I don't know how we got they determine the teams.

                          Wildcats Devour Monarchs, 55-35

                          First Half

                          Bush banks in a jumper and after Kowalczuk hits a 3pter, Wheeler makes two free throws to give Kentucky a 7-0 lead with under 15:00 remaining. Lett drills a 3pter and after Bowman puts in a couple of layups, Lett and Lindeman trade layups. Dickey cans two free throws then after Wheeler drops in a layup, Dickey buries a hook to pull Old Dominion to within six, 15-9, halfway through the first half. Wheeler tips in a rebound and after Ray tips in a rebound and makes 1 of 2 free throws, Bush buries a jumper to give the Wildcats a seven point lead, 19-12, with under 5:00 left. Kowalczuk hits a 3pter then after Asseo sinks a hook, Lett puts in a layup on a fast break and drains two free throws to pull the Monarchs to within four at the half. Old Dominion's Lett leads all scorers with 9 points. Kowalczuk and Wheeler each have 6 points to lead Kentucky.

                          Second Half

Bronson and Asseo trade jumpers and after Lett stuffs in a dunk on a fast break, Bronson buries a hook at the buzzer as the Wildcats advance to the round of 32.
