Coach's Notes

• Bobby Catchings was on fire the entire night.

• The bench played a lot tonight, which says a lot about the bench. To still end up winning by almost 30 with my bench out there playing hard says a lot about how things went our way tonight.

• I was very happy with our shot selection, especially our three point shot selection. I can't even remember the last time we shot better than .500.

Coach's Notes

• This was a much closer game than the score indicates. I only pulled away in the final minutes when Samford pulled their starters from the game. Otherwise the Bulldogs were battling all night to get erase an 8 to 10 point deficit.

• It was a very physical game. Cisse and Julio Anthony were both in foul trouble, and most everyone else had at least two fouls. Samford used their free throw shooting to keep close all game long.

• Bryan Frey is a pain in the neck to keep track of. He was all over the court. Double teaming him didn't stifle his game as well as we liked.

Coach's Notes

• The score was 15-16 them with 6 minutes to go in the first half. All seems to take is one steal to get my guys going on a defensive frenzy. It was the only run we had the entire night, and it was the reason we won the game. The Eagles were determined to not let this game slip away from them.

• Justin Brock only played 11 minutes but he had 7 points and 5 rebounds.

• Mani Carson I can see as being a star in years to come, despite the awkward shot delivery. He is really quick and he makes you forget about him until he hits a huge shot.

Coach's Notes

• This game started out much like our last game against Murray St. They jumped out to an early 11-0 lead, but we fought back and tied the game at 27-27. Romain Martin provided a spark off the bench scoring 10 straight points for us to get us back in the game. From then on, the Racers allowed us to play our style of game.

• We are finally getting used to playing against the 1-3-1 Zone. It still slows us down quite considerably, but we are finally finding ways to score. The key is smart, precision passing.

• Murray St.'s poor shooting doomed them from ever having a chance in the game. Everyone on the team was missing wide open threes.

• Cartier Murphy, not normally known for his offensive prowess, scored a career high 11 points tonight. He only averages 4.4 a game, so any more than that is a welcome bonus.

• This win moved us into the Top 25 Media Poll again. We are sitting at #23 in the nation.

Coach's Notes

• I absolutely despise this team. I hate losing to this team. We are 1-3 against this nothing team since I took this job and I just don't understand how we cannot figure them out. They broke our press all game long. We couldn't stop the worst player on their team. We shot the ball terribly. I hope this is a wake-up call to my players.

• The 'experts' over at ESPN predicted us as a #4 seed going up against a #13 seeded Florida. I don't see that happening anymore, which quite frankly is a good thing. Florida is way better than us.

• So much for running the table in the regular season conference games. With three games left and Tennessee St. at 11-6 in the conference, we have clinched the OVC Conference Championship, but it would have been nice to be undefeated in the conference.

• The game was actually a lot closer than the score is. We lost the game because we can't rebound a free throw attempt. We fouled Pandov. He makes the first and misses the second. Penick gets the rebound. He is fouled and makes the shot. He misses the free throw. Reisz gets the rebound, he is fouled and makes the shot. He makes the free throw. I had never been more enraged at my team.

• Wow.

• I guess my players were a little embarrassed about our last game.

• J. Harmon had his best game of th season. 22 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists, a block, and was 5/8 from three point range. Julio Anthony went 7/8 from the three point line.

• Seven of the nine players that scored in the game were in double figures. Cisse had a double-double (10,10) as well as Harmon.

• I just let them go. I didn't even try to stop the onslaught.

Coach's Notes

• The idea was to limit Brent Price's touches, so we double teamed him almost all game long. He ended up with 13 points on 5-13 (3-9) shooting.

• Jerrell Houston was in foul trouble for the entire game. He ended up playing only 15 minutes and scored only 8 points. Usually he is a big factor in the games we play against the Tigers.

• Another nicely balanced scoring night for my team. 5 scored in double figures and two others had 9 points. Cartier Murphy had a bit of an off night tonight. He ended up with 7 rebounds but didn't grab his second rebound until there were 15 minutes left in the second half. Mike Robinson finally had a 10 assist game.

• The score at one point was 65-63 Panthers so it was a close game until all their fouls caught up with them.

--I accidentally simmed and saved the last game of the regular season against SE Missouri State. We won 67-61.
