            Game 4

            Game 4: Seattle @ Oakland

            Seattle - 9
            Oakland - 4

            WP - Soriano (1-0)
            LP - Lilly (0-1)
            HR - Wilson (1), Chavez (2), Tejada (2)

The A's were hammered early and often in this one as Lilly struggled to get batters out. He only lasted 5 innings as he gave up 6 earned runs and a 3 run homer by Dan Wilson, who was the player of the game. 2 late solo home runs by Chavez and Tejada were too little too late as the Athletics suffered their first loss of the season to drop to 3-1. Next up, the Anaheim Angels

                Games 5 and 6

                Game 5: Anaheim @ Oakland

                Anaheim - 3
                Oakland - 9
                WP - Harang (1-0)
                LP - Appier (0-1)

The A's rebounded from their embarassing loss to the M's to beat up on Appier and getting back to their winning ways. Jermaine Dye received player of the game honors going 3-4 with a double and 3 RBI's to lead Oakland to the victory. Aaron Harand pitched 5 strong innings striking out 5 and giving up 3 earned runs and Jeremy Fikac and Jim Mecir pitched 4 shutout innings of relief to preserve the victory.

                Game 6: Anaheim @ Oakland

                Anaheim - 0
                Oakland - 9

                WP - Zito (2-0)
                LP - Sele (0-1)
                HR - Phelps (2), Chavez (3), Dye (2), Durazo (2)

The A's won by a landslide, but really didn't need the offense as Barry Zito was the story of the game, throwing a perfect game no hitter Zito was sensational fanning 7 and inducing many ground ball outs....the Angel batters were baffled by the reigning Cy Young award winner's skill and great movement. The win moves the A's to 5-1 and in 1st place of the AL West

                            Game 7

Thanks guys for the nice words - that is the first time ever that I pitched a perfect game in a video baseball game

Now to the Oakland A's Franchise:

                            Game 7: Anaheim @ Oakland

                            Anaheim - 1
                            Oakland - 4

                            WP - Foulke (1-0)
                            LP - Percival (0-1)
                            HR: Tejada (3)

This game was a classic pitching duel between Washburn and Mulder. Mulder pitched 7 strong innings striking out 4 and walking 1 while giving up 4 hits while Washburn pitched 8 scoreless innings to help Anaheim maintain a slim 1-0 lead. In the 9th, Percival came into the game and promply had Terrence Long ground out. From there, it became a nightmare for the Angels closer as Byrnes, Singleton, and Ellis all singled to load the bases. Then, Miguel Tejada, on a 2-0 count, hit a grand slam to give the A's their third consecutive game. Tejada received Player of the Game honors and Oakland is now 6-1, 1.5 games ahead of the Rangers. Up next, the Texas Rangers as the A's take to the road/...

                                Rangers series

                                Game 8: Oakland @ Texas

                                Oakland - 16
                                Texas - 1

                                WP - Hudson (1-0)
                                LP - Thomson (0-2)
                                HR: Phelps (3), Chavez (4), Long (1), Everett (1)

Well, this game was a laugher as the A's beat up on woeful pitching by John Thomson to get the blow-out win. Terrence Long was the player of the game as he hit a three run shot to spark the A's attack although other players were considered. It was a very poor game for the Rangers who's mediocre pitching was exposed by the A's.

                                Game 9: Oakland @ Texas

                                Oakland - 6 Final (12)
                                Texas - 4

                                WP - Rincon (1-0)
                                LP - Yan (0-1)
                                S - Fickas (1)
                                HR - Jay Bell (1), Greene (1), Sierra (1)

This game was a see saw battle as Texas was out for revenge after being blown out of the yard. The Rangers took the lead with Everett's 3 run shot in the 4th of Lilly who again had a shaky outing, lasting only 5 innings and giving up 3 runs. Oakland fought back thanks to some timely base hits and a 2 run shot by Jay Bell to get a 4-3 lead into the 9th inning. Keith Foulke had struck out the first 2 batters when Greene popped a solo shot to send the game into extra innings. In the 12th inning, Terrence Long drove in 2 runs with a double and Fickas came into the game to close it out for the A's to move to 8-1 on the year after a thrilling game.

                                Game 10: Oakland @ Texas

                                Oakland - 4
                                Texas - 11

                                WP - Benoit (2-0)
                                LP - Harang (1-1)
                                HR - Phelps (4), A. Rodriguez (3), Ju. Gonzalez (1)

The A's were hammered from the beginning as Aaron Harang struggled walking the first 2 batters of the game. A Rod made Harang pay by hitting a three run homer and Juan Gonzalez followed with a solo shot and Harang was knocked out without getting a single batter out. The blow-out first inning really knocked the A's out as they lose 11-4 to the Rangers to drop them to 8-2 on the year. A Rod was the player of the game with a homer and 4 RBIs and went 3-5 at the plate on a whole. The A's travel to Anaheim to take on the Angels in a 3 game weekend series next
