    Go Detroit! LoL

Nah nice wins over them, they suck don't they?

Their actual line-up isn't all that bad, but as you know all too well, their pitching is awful....

Cleveland Indians versus Oakland A\'s Series

          Game 24: Cleveland @ Oakland

          Cleveland - 11
          Oakland - 13

          WP - Mecir (1-0)
          LP - Herrera (0-1)
          S - Foulke (9)
          HR - Hafner (8), Phillips (3), Selby (3), Broussard (2), Phelps (9)

Jason Bere and Ted Lilly both struggled and were out of the game by the end of the 5th inning as neither team's starter was able to pitch consistent innings. Cleveland took an 11-9 lead into the 7th where Josh Phelps hit a grand slam homer, his 9th of the year to lift the A's past the Indians. Foulke came in and collected his 9th save of the year and Phelps received player of the game honors for his heroics. Oakland rested many of their regulars for the game, including Tejada, Chavez, and Long.

          Game 25: Cleveland @ Oakland

          Cleveland - 5
          Oakland - 4

          WP - Rodriguez (2-3)
          LP - Foulke (1-2)
          HR - Hafner (9), Tejada (9)

Cleveland rebounded from a heartbreaking loss by beating the A's after Hafner hit a solo shot off of Keith Foulke in the 9th to seal the win. Hafner was named player of the game after going 4-4 with a homer and 2 RBI's.

          Game 26: Cleveland @ Oakland

          Cleveland - 0
          Oakland - 15

          WP - Halama (1-0)
          LP - Anderson (1-3)
          HR - Chavez 2 (10), Wells (3), Byrnes (1)

Oakland won the rubber match against Cleveland with a great offensive effort by its lineup. Paced by player of the game Eric Chavez's 2 homers, the Athletics were able to pound Brian Anderson. John Halama, in his 1st start of the year, pitched 6 great innings to earn his first win of the season. The win gives the A's a 20-6 record and a 7.5 game lead on the Mariners in the AL West

Notes - Ichiro was named AL Player of the Week and Scott Rolen was the NL Player of the Week.

ESPN reports that the Tampa Bay Devil Rays are looking to shake up the team following an awful 3-24 start to the season. According to the Tampa Bay GM, no player is untouchable at this point.

              A\'s vs. Chi-Sox

Game 27: Oakland @ Chicago White Sox

              Oakland - 4
              CWS - 1

              WP - Mulder (4-1)
              LP - Colon (0-4)
              S - Foulke (10)
              HR - Lee (4)

Keith Foulke's first in game in Chicago since his treade to Oakland was successful as he saved the game for Mulder, who pitched a solid seven to earn his fourth win of the season as well as POG honors. Carlos Lee hit a home run for the White Sox in a losing effort.

Game 28: Oakland @ Chicago White Sox

              Oakland - 2
              CWS - 5

              WP - Buehrle (4-0)
              LP - Hudson (3-2)
              S - Koch (7)
              HR - Lee (5), Chavez (11)

The White Sox got revenge on the A's as they touched up Tim Hudson for 5 runs in the 1st inning. Hudson did not do himself any favors walking the 1st 2 batters of the game and he paid when Carlos Lee hit a 3 run shot to give the Chi Sox a lead they would not relinquish. Lee was the Player of the Game and Billy Koch had a 1, 2, 3 9th against his former team to earn his 7th save of the season...

Game 29 - Oakland @ Chicago White Sox

              Oakland - 0
              CWS - 3

              WP - Garland (3-2)
              LP - Lilly (2-2)
              S - Koch (8)
              HR - Lee (6)

The A's bats continued to struggle as the team dropped back to back games for the 1st time this season. Garland was awesome as he pitched 8 strong innings for the win. Carlos Lee continued his attack on A's pitching hitting a 2 run homer and going 3 for 4 to again earn player of the game honors. The A's, in a mini-slump, now travel to Yankee Stadium to take on the AL East Leading New York Yankees....

                      S - Rivera (7)
                      HR - Giambi (9), Chavez (12)

The A's continued their losing streak, losing their third in a row as they fell 5-2 to the Yanks. Player of the game Jason Giambi hit a 3 run homer to lead the Yanks to the victory. Young Dewon Brazelton showed flashes of brilliance, but was inconsistent overall to drop to 2-3. Rookie Jose Contreras won his fifth game of the season and is now an impressive 5-1.

The A's snapped their 3 game losing streak with a nice 6-4 win over the Yanks in game 2 of the series between division leaders. Miguel Tejada was the player of the game, hitting a three run homer to lead the A's and Zito outpitched Mussina to win his fifth consecutive decision. Keith Foulke continued his solid pitching to earn his 11th save on the season.

The Yankees take 2 of 3 from the A's thanks to some timely hitting and Chris Widger's grand slam homer off of Hudson in the 3rd. The A's have now lost 3 of their last 4 games and head home looking for some momentum against the White Sox. Phelps and Dye continued great seasons with solo home runs in a losing cause.

The A's have now lost 5 of their last 6 games and looking to get out of their slump although they are still 6.5 games up on their nearest rivals, the Angels....
