My bullpen is going to be fine after the trade. K-Rod will now be my closer and Rincon will be a great set-up as he is a lefty with some power. As for middle relief and long relief, Brazelton will now be loing relief/spot starter and Halama will be there too...I have a nice mix of lefties and righties in my bullpen. I think the only thing I lack right now is a good catcher - Hernandez just isn't cutting it for me (although he is excellent defensively)...

                        Blockbuster Deals

ESPN reports that 2 trades have taken place within the last 24 hours. In a major move to shake the team up, the St. Louis Cardinals have traded Chris Carpenter, Gabe Molina, and Mike Crudale to the Rockies for Larry Walker. Walker waived his no trade clause saying that he desperately wanted a chance to win a World Series and felt that his best chance was with the Cards. The Cards were expected to be a major contender for the NL Central and have struggled to maintain a .500 record. In another trade, the slumping Braves have traded Darren Holmes to the Dodgers for Paul Lo Duca. The Braves have gone 3-7 in their last 10 games and have lost the NL East lead to the Mets, who are ahead by 2.5 games...

In other news, Magglio Ordonez and Sammy Sosa have been named AL and NL Player of the week...Pat Hentgen has also been released by the Orioles after struggling this season..
