I'll get around to it eventually. At the moment I'm limited (extremely) on internet access.

As it is, my computer is messed up because of that stupid Blaster virus. I got it before I knew to d/l the patch, so uninstalled the thing that it was crashing... which now I'm assuming is the reason I can't get my computer to work on the University's ports. So... when I am able to post, it'll be short updates probably, until I get my computer up and running. The next post will give you an idea of what I mean. Hope you guys are still enjoying this.

      Re: Madden 2004: Goldmine

      UPDATE
vs Steelers - The 49ers had a 24-0 lead in the game with about 8 minutes left in the third quarter. This is when the San Francisco secondary fell apart. They relinquished the lead and what's worse-- scored no more points. A touchdown with less than a minute sealed Pittsburg's 31-24 comeback victory to hand the Niners a second straight loss.

at Packers - The 49ers were obviously upset about a two-game losing streak following their impressive 8-0 start to the season. They took that anger out on the Packers, crushing them 33-3. The highlights of the game were Eric Johnson's 10 rec, 100 yards, 3 TD performance as well as Deion Sanders intercepting Brett Favre and returning it for a touchdown. The 49ers looked dominating in this game.

      San Francisco 49ers: 9-2

            UPDATE
            at Ravens
            - The 49ers continued their crushing ways, forcing Baltimore to allow them 37 points in a game that was not even much of a contest as the Niners came away with a 37-7 victory.

vs Cardinals Simulated - The 49ers won 31-9.

at Bengals Simulated - The 49ers won 30-27. Owens got injured (2 Weeks) but would miss the rest of the season as after 2 weeks, he was still listed as Questionable. Pity, as he was having a brilliant season.

at Eagles - This was an incredible matchup. It was snowing the first three quarters and then raining in the 4th. The Niners jumped out to an early lead and were up 24-14 in the third quarter when Philadelphia scored a touchdown to draw within 3. On the following kickoff, Jimmy Williams got nailed and fumbled. Mitchell picked it up for Philadelphia and took it to the house to give them a 28-24 lead. The 49ers scored a field goal and then gave up a 70+ yard touchdown run to Duce Staley. With the score at 35-27, the 49ers offense took control. They scored with about a minute left in the 4th quarter and Garcia snuck the ball for the two point conversion to tie it at 35. In overtime, Jeff Chandler made a field goal on the opening drive to give SF an exciting 38-35 win over the Eagles.

vs Seattle - After a quarter of play, Seattle owned a 7-0 lead. The 49ers offense was having an impossible time moving the ball anywhere near scoring position-- a problem they did not expect from Seattle. They finally scored near the end of the first half with a touchdown from Garcia to Freeman. Most starters got the second half off, such as Garcia and Hearst. The second half was a completely different story as Barlow managed to find the endzone and Dorsey threw two touchdown passes and the Niners pulled away to win 37-20.

            San Francisco 49ers: 14-2

            Straight From the Coach
"We had an excellent regular season and I cannot express how proud I am of all the effort put forth by this talented bunch of athletes. Let's hope we can carry this momentum into the postseason and come out on top with a Super Bowl victory. But, no matter what happens, I am extremely proud of the way this team played throughout the year."

            Straight From the Owner
"Where are all the nay-saying 'experts' now? Coach Erickson did one helluva job with this team this year. Even when Owens was injured, this team didn't miss a beat. That shows how much this team has come together and improved over the past few seasons. Bring on the postseason!"

Even though my computer access is still limited (should be fixed soon), I'm going to try and go back to the old format for the postseason. My first opponent might beat me simply bceause the secondary has been struggling a little bit lately.

DIVISIONAL PLAYOFFS: Atlanta (9-7) at San Francisco (14-2)

                              1st Quarter
Things started out looking good for Michael Vick and the Falcons as they scored a touchdown on the opening drive after Vick threw the ball for a short TD. The thing that made this drive great, besides the fact that they scored a touchdown, was that it took up about 8 minutes of the quarter. The 49ers tried to respond in kind on their next drive, but stalled and settled for Chandler booting a 50-yard field goal to put the score at 7-3.

                              2nd Quarter
Things here started off poorly for the Niners as Garcia threw an interception at the San Francisco 22 yard line. After two plays to get them to the 4-yard line, Dunn finished off the drive with a run to put Atlanta on top 14-3. Feeling pressured, the Niners came through on their next drive and drew within 4 points after Beasley charged in from the goaline. Vick & Co. wasn't done, however, and Mike found Gaylor for a 59 yard touchdown pass. San Francisco's offense struggled and was forced to punt. Deion Sanders came through with an interception at Atlanta's 33 yard line, and afterwards Jeff Garcia found Eric Johnson from 7 yards out to make the score 21-17 at the half.

                              3rd Quarter
The 49ers got the ball first and drove to the 26 yard line but were unable to go any further. Another Chandler field goal made it 21-20. After a few bad run plays, Atlanta was forced to throw the ball on third down. Jason Webster ended up intercepting it and returning it to the Falcons 26 yard line. The 49ers once again converted the turnover into points, this time with a 7-yard run by Beasley to take their first lead of the game, 27-21.

                              4th Quarter
The San Francisco defense was really stepping up now as they forced the Falcons to punt. On the offensive side of the ball, the Niners moved effectively and eventually gave it to Garrison Hearst who took it in from three yards out. The Niners had a 34-21 lead and boy were they pumped. Atlanta got the ball back but their hopes of a comeback were dashed as Webster intercepted the ball at the 16 yard line and returned it for a touchdown to give SF a 20-point lead. Vick & Co. would get to midfield before launching a 49-yard touchdown bomb to Peerless Price but it was too little too late.

                              FINAL: San Francisco wins 41-28!
