    BRONCOS FALL IN SEASON OPENER
    GAME RECAP

The Ducks got their revenge against the Broncos with a 4th Quarter comeback handing the Broncos their first loss of the season and a loss in their Pac-12 debut. Tied (7-7) at the end of the 1st Quarter, the Broncos took a 13-7 lead into the half as Iowa State transfer Abu Sama III scores his first touchdown as a Bronco but a missed PAT left it a 6 point game at half time.

Oregon would take the lead in the 3rd Quarter as Dante Moore throws his 2nd TD to make it (14-13) but Boise State answers back with a early 4th Quarter FG by Colton Boomer to make it (16-14). A Moore INT would give Boise State the ball back in solid field position but the Ducks Defense steps up forcing yet another Boomer FG to make it (19-14).

With Moore somewhat struggling (2 INT's), Oregon turns to its ground game as RS FR Jordan Davison (85 ovr) scores on a 23 yd run to make it (21-19). with 4 minutes to play in the game. The Broncos looked to rally driving 55 yds down field on 6 plays but the Ducks once again step up and stop the Broncos on a crucial 3rd and 2 play forcing Coach Danielson to bring out the kicking game for yet a 3rd FG as Boomer connects to make it (22-21) with 2:28 to play in the game.

Oregon would waste little time taking the lead back though as RS FR Dierre Hill (84 ovr) breaks lose on a 47 yd run to make it (26-22) with 1:52 to play. The Ducks would leave the offense out on the field and convert the 2pt play to make it a 7 point lead as Boise State gets the ball back with under 2 minutes to play.

Madsen would do his best to lead the Broncos down field but facing a 4th and 4, Madsen's intended pass to TE Matt Wagner is knocked down as Oregon takes over on downs and runs out the clock.

With the huge lead Boise State sticks to the ground game as Ohio State transfer Tavian St Clair takes over at QB...St Clair would carry the ball 7 times for 35 yds but it was Sama III that was the hero of the 4th Quarter as he scores on a 52 yd TD run and a 1 yd run as both he and Gaines end the day with the "Hat Trick 3 TD Day".

BOISE STATE DOMINATES THE BRONCO BASH
          GAME RECAP

Boise State improved to (2-1) on the season as they win their Week 4 matchup with Western Michigan in a clash of the Broncos. Tied (3-3) at the end of the 1st Quarter, Boise went on to score 56 unanswered points as the ground game of Sire Gaines and Abu Sama III dominate to combine for 30 carries for 244 yds and 6 touchdowns.

It was a quite day for QB Maddux Madsen who complete just 17/30 (56%) for 252 yds including his lone TD (26 yd to Chris Marshall). Madsen would add 28 yds on the ground.

The hero of the day was Sire Gaines who looked like his previous mentor Ashton Jeanty as the Redshirt Sophomore galloped for 190 yds and 4 TD's on 21 carries.. After his 4th TD early in the 4th on his longest run of the day (49 yds), Gaines gave way to Sana III who would carry the ball 9 times for 54 yds scoring twice including a 29 yd run.

Boise State's Defense dominated WMU holding them to just 183 yds of Total Offense including just 23 yds on the ground. The final score of the day came fro the Defense as backup CB Demetrius Freeney picked up a fumble and ran it 43 yds for the touchdown.

Despite the blowout win, Boise State moves up just 2 spots in the Top-25 to #18 going into their Week 5 matchup with #5 USC.. The Trojans have kicked off their season with 3 straight wins including a Week 1 win over Fresno State (49-23), a Week 2 win over UC Davis (FCS West) 52-3 and a Week 4 win vs Miami OH (49-17) as they average over 50 points a game.

Can the Broncos Defense shutout the Trojan Offense? Can Boise State continue their own high power scoring attack and match USC score for score or will the Broncos fall for a 2nd time on the road dropping to (0-2) in their Pac-12 debut?

BRONCOS MAKE STATEMENT IN THE 4TH!!!
            GAME RECAP

With the Country watching, Boise State made a statement in Week 4 as the Broncos scored 3 straight touchdowns in the 4th to defeat USC for their first Pac-12 win in school history.

For Boise State it was statement to prove to the country that the last 2 years were not a fluke and that the Broncos are capable of beating the nation's best on any given Saturday and to compete for a National Championship.

USC jumped out to a early (14-0) lead in the 1st Quarter behind a pair of touchdowns from SR Jayden Maiava (88 Ovr) and extended the lead early in the 2nd Quarter to (21-0) on a Maiava 5 yd Touchdown run, but Boise State rallied behind Maddux Madsen as the Senior throws a pair of 2nd Quarter touchdowns to Chase Penry and a Colton Boomer FG with under 10 seconds to play cuts the lead to (21-17) at the half.

USC would score a pair of touchdowns on the ground in the 3rd Quarter from SR RB Carson Hansen (89 ovr) to extend the lead back to (35-17) but again Boise would rally as Maddux Madsen shows he can make plays with his feet with a 5 yd TD run and then it was another Colton Boomer FG to end the 3rd Quarter at (35-27).

Sire Gaines would cut the lead to (35-34) early in the 4th as he scores on a 22 yd run as he goes over 100 yds for this 4th straight game to start the season.. The Bronco Defense then came up with a huge play as they hold the Trojans to a FG make it (38-34) with 5 minutes to play in the game.

With Gaines already over 20 carries and 135 yds on the day, Boise State inserted Iowa State transfer Abu Sama III on the next series, and Sama delivers with yet another big run taking it 31 yds to the house as Boise State takes the lead (41-38).

The Additions of Alabama transfers Bray Hubbard (7 tackles) and Zabien Brown and Minnesota transfer Koi Perich (10 tackles) have made a huge impact on the Boise State secondary allow other players to rise up and make plays and that is just what SR CB Jaden Mickey did.. Mickey who finished with 3 INT on the season last year comes up with a huge INT to set up yet another Bronco touchdown as Madsen finds RS SO Cameron Bates for a 17 yd score for a touchdown. Mickey then comes up with INT #2 as Maiava and the Trojans fall short in the comeback.

            Maiava finished the game 27/44 (61%) 292 yds with the 3 TD's (2 passing 1 rushing) and the INT's.

            BOISE STATE-48 USC-38

            KEY BRONCOS
            QB M. Madsen-26/35 (74%) 271 yds 3 TD, 12 yds rushing 1 TD
            RB S. Gaines-21 carries 135 yds 1 TD

            WR C. Bates-3 rec 33 yds 1 TD
            TE M. Wagner-2 rec 29 yds
            CB J. Mickey-2 INT

            UP NEXT

With the win, Boise State jumps 7 spots in the rankings to #11 well USC drops from #5 to 12 with the loss.. Boise State will now travel home to Boise to host (2-2) Arizona in Week 6.

*The Broncos will be without JR TE Matt Wagner who was injured in the game.. Wagner expected to miss the rest of the regular season (7 weeks) with a Dislocated Hip.. SR Austin Terry will take over #1 TE Duties but we are being told FB Kaiden Anderson could move from FB back to TE moving forward.. Well losing Wagner is a huge blow to the Offense, the Broncos will get SO WR Ja'Bree Bickham back next week which should help boost the passing game.

                GAME RECAP

Boise State coming off a huge win in Week 5 returned to Boise ready to make a run through their Pac-12 schedule as they hosted the (2-2) Arizona Wildcats. Tied (7-7) at the end of the 1st Quarter, Arizona took a (10-7) lead early in the 2nd Quarter but Boise State would score 21 unanswered to close out the half to take a (28-10) lead into the locker room.

For Maddux "Mad Dog" Madsen the 1st half was almost perfect as the Senior completed 11/14 pass's for 186 yds with 4 Touchdowns. With the opposing Defense focusing on Chris Marshall with multiple double team coverages, Senior Chase Penry had a breakout game catching 6 ball for 80 yds and 3 of the 4 scores including a 22 yd score on the final drive of the half.

Arizona opened the 2nd half with the ball and had a nice 11 play drive that ended with a touchdown run by SR Kedrick Reescano (87 Ovr) to make it (28-17) but the Broncos respond as Sire Gaines breaks his longest run of the day going 28 yds or the score to extend the lead to (35-17). Looking to run some time off the clock, Gaines added 28 yds more yards to his total giving him 130 yds on the day but Arizona came up with a big stop on a 3rd and 2 forcing the Broncos to punt with just over 4 minutes to play.

RS FSR QB Sawyer Anderson (78 Ovr) looked to try and lead the Wildcats in a 4th Quarter comeback but Anderson's intended pass is picked off by FS Koi Perich who takes it back 33 yds to the house for his 2nd "Pick 6" INT of the season as Boise State extends their lead to (42-20).

Anderson would find some redemption though as the Redshirt Freshman hit SR WR Chris Hunter (78 Ovr) on a 28 yd TD with 1:43 to play but after failing to covert the 2pt play they still trailed by 2 scores. Left with no choice but attempt the onside kick, the Broncos hands team came out and recovered running off the final seconds as they cruise to win #4.

Still trailing (13-0) at the half, BYU would start the 2nd half with the ball and would find the endzone as RS FR Dorian Patterson (74 ovr) finally finds one of his own WR's after throwing (4) 1st half INT's. this time connecting with JR Cody Hagen (82 ovr) on a 29 yd score to make it (13-7). Then it was the Cougar Defense coming up with a INT of their own as they pick off backup QB Tavien St Clair to set up 34 yd TD run by JR Sione Moa (82 Ovr) as BYU takes the lead (14-13).

St Clair (the Ohio State transfer) would make some amends for his earlier turnover midway through the 4th though as the RS Freshman keeps the ball himself and rumbles 12 yds for the touchdown as Boise State retakes the lead (20-14).

Patterson's 5th INT of the game would end yet another BYU drive as JR LB Clay Martineau picks off the Cougar QB for a 2nd time in the game to set up a Colton Boomer 32 yd FG as Boise State clinches the victory despite missing 2 key members of the Offfense.

BRONCOS 4TH QUARTER RALLY MAKES IT 7 STRAIGHT!!!

                      GAME RECAP

Boise State led at the end of the 1st Quarter (14-7) and at the end of the half (31-17) as Sire Gaines scores a hat trick adding 3 touchdowns to his total giving him 14 on the season just 1 shy of his 15 he had all of last season. Gaines wasn't the only one running the ball well today though as QB Maddux Madsen ran for a season high 42 yds..

Madsen however had a roller coaster day throwing the ball as he threw 56 times for a season high 467 yds, Madsen was picked off 3 times including 2 to RS SO LB Gage Jones who is a Eagle Idaho native. The Cougars would turn the 3 turnover into 17 points as they cut the lead to (31-27) going into the 4th Quarter.

Madsen however would redeem himself in the 4th first hitting Cameron Bates on a 9 yd score and then with under 30 seconds to play Madsen found 6'3 True Freshman Keilan Bettis for his first career touchdown.

Bettis a former 4* recruit from Boise Idaho is currently redshirting this season but with the ability to play 4 games and still keep his redshirt, Coach Miller felt it was important to get him some PT as he could very well be a starter next season. Bettis delivered with 5 receptions for 78 yds including the score.

We are being told the Broncos still have 31 players on their Big Board led by 5* SS Raheem Spann (#21 Overall/#2 SS) from Englewood Colorado. However we are told after a Week 7 visit BSU has dropped to #2 on his Top-3 with Nebraska offering a scholarship and a Week 10 visit the Cornhuskers are now the favorite to sign him.

                          HUSKIES LOOKING TO REPEAT HISTORY!!

In 2014 the University of Washington hired Chris Peterson away from Boise State where he had posted a 92-12 record that included 2 perfect seasons that ended with Fiesta Bowl victories.

Peterson went on to coach at Washington for 5 seasons retiring with a record of 55-26 Overall including a Bowl over his former team in the Las Vegas Bowl.

Washington then hired DC Jimmy Lake who would last just 13 games (7-6) before replacing him with a intern coach Bob Gregory (3 games) before hiring former Fresno State Head Coach Kalen DeBoer who would last 28 games (25-3).

DeBoer's success led him to Alabama and the Huskies back to the hiring pool where they landed on former Arizona HC Jed Fisch.. Fisch's tenure in Seattle was short lived though after 2 sub .500 season Fisch is gone (now at Georgia State) and Washington brought in veteran HC Bret Bielema. At 55 years old Bielema who started his career at Iowa has also coached at Wisconsin, Arkansas and in the NFL for New England and New York before returning to the college ranks at Illinois. However the Fighting Illini made a change after 5 seasons and Bielema was on the move yet again this time landing in Seattle.

However a 2-6 record in Year 1 has the Huskies already making plans at the end of the season and right now their #1 target is Boise State HC Spencer Danielson.

Danielson is 35-6 Overall for the Broncos since taking over in 2024 and has led the Broncos to 2 straight College Football appearances. Now the question is can Washington throw enough money at Danielson to make him believe a move to Seattle would be give him a better shot at the National Championship and if so what happens in Boise with Coach Matt Miller who we are being told is the Huskies #2 target if they can't manage to land his Coach D.
