Good deal. On a side note I am really thinking about taking the Kentucky job when its available. They are ranked 123rd at the end of this season after a 3 win season. I hate San Jose's unis lol and I am a fan of the Blue and White Wildcats unis. If the job isn't available this next season I am moving to the Big 12 and taking my lumps there until I can get the UK job.

Long-Overdue Update
Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been busy handling business. Thought I'd give you the rundown.
I spent this past Friday-Tuesday visiting Ohio State's campus (in Columbus). I may be transferring there next year, so I wanted to take care of some business. This in addition to visiting friends of mine that are already there. I came back Tuesday night & have spent the past few days getting caught up on classwork I missed. No worries on that front, though.
With the weekend coming up I'm gonna catch up on Tulane. Wanna get through the South Florida, Temple, UConn and perhaps SMU games this weekend, which will take us 2/3 of the way through 2016 (Season 5 for those who've lost track). Then we'll have a Bye before travelling to Boston College. I've also updated my slider set to help alleviate my anemic defense. I tried a few things out that worked, but in the process I think I messed up my offensive sliders as well. In an exhibition game I played, my defense played great but my offense played terribly. So now I have to fix that
Anyway, for TONIGHT: expect a recruiting update, a slider set update, a Tulane-South Florida post-game write-up, and maybe a "Look Around The Nation." Sounds like a lot, but I'll try to get through what I can.
Oh, and by the way, I noticed this week that this dynasty thread has eclipsed 6,000 views. 6,588 as of right now. Thanks for all the views! I try to keep it interesting. Spread the word! And for all my followers, PLEASE comment more!!! I'd appreciate it.

Re: Tulane Football: "From Worst to First"
Sounds like you have had a busy week, well I on the other hand have been enjoying my now 2 weeks away from work. I don't expect it to last long though, I am suppose to have a meeting with the owner of the company I applied at first of the week, with a expected start date sometime first of March, so I am enjoying as much NCAA as I can until then.Comment

Re: Tulane Football: "From Worst to First"
A Look At Recruiting
Despite struggling on the field as of late, Coach Willingham and the Green Wave squad have had success on the recruiting trail in the early going. Currently they have 14 guys on their recruiting board, but there are 5 guys that the staff have keyed on in particular.
Adam Barnes, #5 QB, Georgetown, TX
A 4-star prospect out of central Texas, the Green Wave have gone all out for Adam Barnes. Standing at 6’3”, weighing 232 lbs, he’s practically a clone of Devin Powell. The difference: 89 Speed, 80 Accel, 89 Elusiveness puts him on his way to becoming the next Cam Newton. Tulane’s his only scholarship offer, but he’s also shown interest in Oregon, Georgia, and 7 other schools.
Bobby Willis, #17 FB, Malvern, AR
1-star recruits typically don’t get many looks. Bobby Willis is no different. Growing up as the son of a bricklayer, Bobby knew he wanted to play big-time college ball, and he knew he wanted to play close to home. Unfortunately, none of the big-time schools nearby came calling. Not even his beloved Razorbacks…
Boy, are they missing out! As soon as Coach Willingham saw some of Willis’ game tape, he knew he had to have him. How often do you find a FB with 85 Speed, 84 Accel, 76 Elusiveness, 79 Agility, IN ADDITION TO his 71 Pass Block & 71 Run Block?? And oh yeah, 78 Trucking. This guy’s a stud in the making. He’s a PERFECT fit for Willingham’s offense. And to think no one else is recruiting him…
Jason Muhammad, #3 OLB, Mandeville, LA
LB is a need for the Green Wave for next season with 3 seniors graduating. Luckily Willingham didn’t have to go far to find his next set of defenders.
A 4-star recruit, Jason Muhammad may be exactly what Willingham needs to spark his defense. Not the fastest guy in the world (75 Speed), Jason knows how to get to the point of attack and make a play. He’s great at shedding blocks, making tackles, and he has good burst. He also knows how to recognize what the opposing offense is doing. He could be a leader on this team for years to come. Currently Tulane’s in a close bidding war with South Carolina for his services, but Florida & TCU are in the mix as well.
Tom Grier, #41 OLB, Seagoville, TX
Going back to the Lone Star state, we find the other LB Willingham is targeting heavily. Tom Grier, a young man who grew up in a wealthy Dallas suburb, is athletically in a similar mold to Muhammad. A bit faster, a bit stronger, but not as much burst. He too is a great tackler, but isn’t as great at shedding blocks as Muhammad, and also struggles at reading the opposing offense at times. But he’s great in zone coverage. Great for defending those Spread offenses. Though Oklahoma State & TCU are also on his list, he’s really fallen in love with the Green Wave.
T.C. Pickens, #27 ATH, Port Arthur, TX
His name fits his Texas roots. T.C. Pickens comes on the board as a guy who can do many things. Quick rundown: 86 Speed, 84 Agility, 81 Accel, 78 Jump, 75 Pursuit, 72 Zone Cov, 76 Break Tackle, 79 Elusive, 83 Stiff Arm, 79 Spin Move, 79 Juke, 74 BC Vision. He projects as a running back in this offense, but the coaches still aren’t quite sure what they’d do with him. He could also spend time on the defense as a safety. Still, he’s an interesting prospect. With an AWESOME name. Tulane has a huge lead on him as well.Last edited by kswgrad2012; 02-14-2014, 10:30 PM.Who Dey!

Good luck with getting into Ohio St. KSW. Wish you the best. Looking forward to the rest of your updates. Am always waiting patiently for more. Really enjoy the read Sir.
Edit - btw. Great find on that *1 FB Willis. Talk about under rated. Think you might have Wait Till Next Years Beau Davis 2.0. The recruiting class looks like it can be strong if these guys all come in.Last edited by xboxxerx; 02-16-2014, 02:55 AM.PSN Name - xboxxerx

Re: Tulane Football: "From Worst to First"
Streak Ends!
The title above says it all.
The Wave went into today’s game versus South Florida with something to prove. They wanted to get their season back on track, and they wanted to show that they aren't just chumps. They want to be taken seriously. And today they did just that.
We start in the 2nd quarter. Both teams struggled to punch it in in the first quarter. Tulane’s first drive of the game lasted a whopping 19 plays, but all they did was take 7 minutes after the clock. It’s not good to hog the ball from the other team and not score. Thankfully the Tulane defense did what it needed to do in stifling South Florida. But in the Second, both teams were able to string together some plays on offense. Two FG’s later, we go into the half tied 3-3.
The second half is more interesting. After Devin Powell had a very pedestrian 1st half, Coach Willingham looked for a spark on offense. He inserted Trevor Knight into the game, hoping he would do just that. A Senior QB (94 OVR as a backup), Willingham felt he could trust Trevor with the situation. Knight came into the game and immediately made his impact. He diagnosed plays that the line-of-scrimmage, leading the Wave to a touchdown on his first drive. Completing a 34-yd TD strike to TE Marshall Brown, Willingham decided to leave Knight in the game.
Willingham: "That’s the beauty of having two good quarterbacks. You can ride the hot hand."
Knight did what he needed to in the game, making great throws down the field, and taking off when necessary.
Though the Wave defense was actually playing a good game, they continued to have the usual lapses. Giving up a 45-yd TD pass, the game was nodded up at 10. Going into the 4th the Wave offense continued to have success. Knight led them down the field for their second touchdown of the half, capitalized by a 4-yd run by Shawn Henry. The South Florida offense wouldn’t get it going again until the end of the game. Down 17-10 with 1:26 to go, it didn’t take long for them to march down the field. With 0:33 left they scored. Tie game, 17-17. With nothing to lose Willingham chose to take a shot downfield. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be.
For the third time this season the game would go to Overtime. Tulane won the toss and played defense first. Very first play of the drive, USF QB Sean Kilpatrick completes a deep ball to WR D’Vario Montgomery to set up a 1-yd TD run. Tulane knew what they had to do. Unfortunately it wasn’t easy. 1st down, nothing, 2nd down, minimal gain. 3rd down, a sack. It came down to 4th down. Once again Trevor Knight found his magic. Finding Justin Fountain on a 20-yd in-route, Tulane would nod it up again.
For the second time this season the game would go into a 2nd Overtime. This time Tulane got the ball first, and played straight ball control. RB Josh Williams would get hurt early in the second half, and rather than turn to his scat backs to wear down the defense, Willingham would turn to his Fullback. Fred Roach was called into the game to wear out the clock, and he did just that. He helped the Wave get into position to score many times in the game, and he would do so again in the 2nd overtime. Helping the team move down the field, Roach would set up the next touchdown, a 2-yd run by Shawn Henry. USF would get the ball back and do nothing with it. Game over, Tulane wins. First time in a month we’ve been able to say that. It took two overtimes, but 31-24 is your final.
FB Fred Roach ran hard in today's game. With Josh Williams likely out vs. Temple, look for Roach to possibly get the start at HB.
Henry would be named Player of the Game with his two touchdowns, one of which was the game-winner. Though cases could easily be made for both Fred Roach and Trevor Knight. After the game, Coach Willingham was asked if there was a controversy at QB now after Knight’s clutch performance. Willingham put it simply like this:
Willingham: "Devin’s our guy for now, but we’ll see."
It’s a big week coming up for Green Wave football. Temple’s coming to town, it’s Homecoming Week, and 6 recruits are coming to visit. Most notably QB Adam Barnes & FB Bobby Willis. Though he won’t say it out loud, these are the guys Coach Willingham wants to play Green Wave football the most. Let’s see if his current team can pull out the “W” against a feisty opponent, and get a new streak started: a WINNING streak.

Re: Tulane Football: "From Worst to First"
Alright guys, so I found a slider set that I think I can use. It took hours of tweaking, and numerous exhibition game tests, but I liked how they worked in the USF game. Gonna use them going forward. They seem realistic. Even got a realistic number of penalties in the game (7 total). I won the game, but it wasn't easy. Anyway, tell me what you guys think. Gonna get the Temple game in today.
I turned the "Player Min Speed Threshold" down to 20. Still Heisman, 9-min quarters. Penalties are as such:
Offsides: 99, False Start: 80, Holding: 54 (any higher & you get an outrageous amount of holding calls in the game). Facemask: 54, OPI: 60, DPI: 25, KR/PR Interference: 60, Clipping: 50, Intentional Grounding: 99, Roughing the Passer: 50, Roughing the Kicker: 1.
User/CPU AI:
QB Accuracy: 55/55
Pass Blocking: 70/65 (sounds high, but my pass protection still wasn't great.)
WR Catching: 55/60

Pass Coverage: 65/55

Re: Tulane Football: "From Worst to First"
So you end the losing streak by KO’ing South Florida, in a game where you actually played good defense, only to lose the next week by resorting back to the same old bad defense of before…???
Makes sense…
The Green Wave put up yet another effort of great offense and bad defense, en route to a 56-49 shootout loss at the hands of the Temple Owls. In a game that last year featured mostly defense, this year’s edition of the series had anything but that. Both teams combined for almost 1300 total yards in the game, 800 in the air & 500 on the ground. The game could be described as "the best of times, the worst of times." Temple got out to an early 14-0 lead after one, both touchdowns being big plays given up by the defense. But Tulane would surge back with a 21-pt second quarter, marked by a heavy dose of the ground attack. Devin Powell & Crew finally got into a groove, and it looked like they were gonna run away with it in the 3rd, but 3 straight Powell interceptions (including on in the redzone) put Temple right back in it. Not much later, a 71-yd touchdown run by RB Montrell Dobbs nodded the game at 28. Then the fourth quarter came…
The 4th quarter alone gives the perfect synopsis of the game. 42 points were scored between the two teams in a matter of 6 minutes, as the game turned from grounding and pounding to an air-it-out fest. With Temple leading 35-28 after three quarters, each team alternated scores from there. 28 points scored in the last 1:39, 21 scored in the last 0:34. Tulane would score first in the quarter, off a Devin Powell 1-yd run out of the Flexbone. The FG unit comes out for the extra point, BUT IT’S A FAKE! Unfortunately the fake field goal attempt fails, leaving the game at 35-34. Temple gets the ball, marches down the field, scores again. 42-34 Owls. Green Wave get the ball. Coach Willingham loves to utilize Bryan Higgins in many ways. Listed at QB on the depth chart, Higgins would CATCH a 57-yd TD pass on the ensuing drive, tying the game at 42 after this 2-pt attempt was successful. Then the final 40 seconds of the game. Temple scores on an 18-yd TD run by FB Desmond Ward. With :20 on the clock Tulane QB Devin Powell aired it out to WR Aaron Gandy, for a 75-yd TD pass, tying it again at 49. Owls get the ball back, 14 seconds left. In what had to be THE WORST defense of the decade, Tulane drops back in Prevent defense, and STILL gives up a 40-yard pass play in the middle. Set up with great field position for the game-winning FG, Temple decides to throw it instead. Owls QB Grant Dickens throws up a Hail Mary, and the pass is CAUGHT for a touchdown. 56-49 Temple, 0:06 to go. Tulane gets the ball for one last shot. The last big play to Higgins worked before, so the coaches thought they’d try it again. Powell drops back, heaves it up...and over the head of Higgins it goes. Game over, Temple wins.
The Green Wave are back on the losing end of things, falling to 2-4, 2-3 in conference play. The staff are beginning to get frustrated with how things have been going this season, but Kaelyn Willingham voiced his opinions of the Temple playcalling on offense after the game.
Willingham: "I don’t know what that was out there. It seemed like they were running 'Four Verticals' almost every few plays. You’ve got to be kidding me."
Some would call it "rubbing it in," others would call it simply exploiting a mismatch. What can be said is, it was highly unexpected that a game between two traditionally run first-run often teams would turn into a Big 12-style passing clinic. But it happened, and once again Tulane finds themselves on the losing end. Get ready folks, it doesn’t get easier. UConn comes to town next week. After last year’s heart-breaker in Hartford, this game might be "first team to 100."

Tulane-Temple Photo Montage
As I have done after crazy games before, here’s a montage of how the Temple game went. I’m too lazy to sort out the “good” from the “really good,” so I just throw them together into one long post. FYI, that game became my new #2 ESPN Instant Classic, by about 1000 points.

Re: Tulane Football: "From Worst to First"
Slider Edit: USER Pass Defense: 70 (+5), CPU WR Catching: 45 (-10).
MUCH needed edits, if you ask me. Tired of my defense giving up waaayyy to many deep balls, giving the CPU 20+ YPC on average. Gonna see how these work.Who Dey!
