Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)

    UP NEXT: BAYLOR (5-3)

The #2 Florida State Seminoles (8-0) are set to take on the Baylor Bears (5-3) in a highly anticipated ACC matchup. This game holds significant importance as the Seminoles are closing in on the College Football Playoff. Despite Baylor's record, Head Coach Cameel Verner and his team are taking this game very seriously, especially after last year's shocking loss to the Bears. "We have to take it one game at a time and never take any team for granted. Our preparation doesn't change based on records," Verner emphasized.

    BREAKING NEWS

FSU Dismisses Junior RB Vontae Marshall from Team

In a surprising turn of events, Florida State University has announced the dismissal of Junior running back Vontae Marshall from the team. Head Coach Cameel Verner confirmed the decision, stating, "After careful consideration, we have decided to dismiss Vontae Marshall from the team. We have no further comments on the matter at this time."

The dismissal appears to stem from an incident last week when Marshall was arrested and later released on bond. He was cited for speeding at 85 mph in a 55 mph zone and found with marijuana in his vehicle. Marshall has missed the last two games following the incident.

Marshall, a former Five-Star recruit from Marietta, GA is this year's leading rusher for the Seminoles, had been a significant contributor to the team's offense. Rated as the #4 running back in the draft class if he chose to leave early for the draft, his dismissal is undoubtedly a blow to both Marshall and the team.

It's a shame to see such a talented player face these circumstances. The Seminoles will now need to move forward without their star running back as they continue their pursuit of a College Football Playoff berth. The Seminoles (8-0) will host Bayylor (5-3) Saturday on ESPN.FSU Dismisses Junior RB Vontae Marshall from Team

    Seeking Redemption

This game has been circled by the Seminoles' players all week, as they look for redemption from last year’s embarrassing defeat. Quarterback Ko'Dallas Avery hasn't forgotten how last year's game went. "I've watched just as much film from last year's game as I have to prepare for this week. We're ready, and this game will be different this time around," Avery stated.

    Florida State's High-Powered Offense

The Seminoles boast a high-powered offense, averaging 42 points per game this year and have not scored less than 30 points all season. Ko'Dallas Avery is leading the charge, completing 67% of his passes for 2,475 yards and 23 touchdowns. Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser praised Avery's preparation, saying, "K.D. has been laser-focused in practice this week. His preparation is on another level."

Florida State has a plethora of weapons at its disposal, with five players having over 20 catches this season. Darcy Miller leads the way with 30 catches for 636 yards and 7 touchdowns. Baylor Head Coach Orson Godfrey acknowledged the challenge, stating, "We are quite aware of the talent of FSU's receivers. They are a formidable group, and we are prepared for the challenge."

    Adjusting Without Vontae Marshall

With the recent dismissal of running back Vontae Marshall, the Seminoles will look to move forward without his home-run ability. Running backs Duane Linder and Rohkan Fredrick carried the load against Memphis and will aim to do the same this week.

    Defensive Dominance

Defensively, the Seminoles will look to continue their dominant streak. However, Baylor's quarterback Marco Fernandez will look to seize the moment. Fernandez has completed 64% of his passes for 2,348 yards and 23 touchdowns with only 3 interceptions. He has also chipped in 243 rushing yards. Defensive Coordinator Ryan Dukes praised Fernandez, saying, "Fernandez is a playmaker. He doesn't make mistakes and stays calm under pressure. Keeping him in check will be crucial for us."

While Baylor doesn’t have a great run game, their passing game is their strength, led by Emilion Friend with 40 catches for 772 yards and 8 touchdowns, and Rico Smart with 38 catches for 604 yards and 7 touchdowns. Up until a few weeks ago, FSU's pass defense was a major weakness, but they have played phenomenally as of late. Baylor Head Coach Orson Godfrey emphasized the importance of protecting their quarterback, stating, "If we can protect our quarterback, which will be a tough task against FSU’s leading nation in sacks and pressures, we can come out on top."

    Florida State Keys to Victory:

    1. Control the Line of Scrimmage: Dominating the trenches on both sides of the ball will be crucial for Florida State.
    2. Limit Turnovers: Ko'Dallas Avery needs to take care of the football to avoid giving Baylor any extra opportunities.
    3. Exploit Offensive Weapons: Utilize the plethora of receiving options to keep Baylor's defense on its heels.

    Baylor Keys to Victory:

    1. Protect the Quarterback: Keeping Marco Fernandez upright and giving him time to make plays will be essential.
    2. Capitalize on Opportunities: Take advantage of any mistakes Florida State makes.
    3. Strong Passing Attack: Lean on their strong passing game to put pressure on FSU's secondary.

This game promises to be a thrilling contest as Florida State looks to maintain their perfect record and edge closer to the College Football Playoff, while Baylor aims to pull off another major upset. Tune in to ESPN at 12:00 PM ET to catch all the action.

    RECRUITING

Florida State Secures Three Big Commitments Following Memphis Dismantling

The Florida State Seminoles are riding high after a commanding 41-0 victory over Memphis, and their success on the field has translated into major gains in recruiting. The Seminoles landed three significant commitments over the weekend, further solidifying their top-ranked 2035 recruiting class.

Leon Ogletree: A Defensive Back Phenomenon

Leading the charge is Leon Ogletree, a Five-Star safety from Lynn Haven, FL (A. Crawford Mosley). Ogletree, who stands at 6'3" and weighs 200 pounds, is the #6 overall prospect and the #2 safety in the class. He earned the Top Performer MVP award at the Sparq skills camp this summer, impressing Rivals Recruiting Analyst Mike Ferrell.

"Leon Ogletree's range is phenomenal," Ferrell said. "He moves so fluidly with excellent hip transition, and his film showcases incredible closing speed. His length and build are impressive, and he has the potential to fill out even more. FSU hit a home run with this recruitment."

Ogletree chose FSU over Florida, UCF, and Georgia Tech, adding to an already stacked defensive back class for the Seminoles. The 3-3-5 scheme at Florida State demands versatile athletes, and Ogletree fits that mold perfectly.

    Terrence Ahmad: A Dual-Threat Star

Joining Ogletree is another Five-Star athlete, Terrence Ahmad from Clearwater, FL (Clearwater). Ahmad, who stands at 6'4" and weighs 195 pounds, is transitioning from quarterback to wide receiver at Florida State. He joins current Florida State commit and the #1 overall player in the class, Cortez Hamilton.

"Tez has been in my ear every day about joining him in Tallahassee," Ahmad said. "Ultimately, it impacted my decision."

Ferrell had high praise for Ahmad as well: "At the Sparq camp, Ahmad was practically unstoppable at wide receiver. He's a naturally gifted athlete with a lot of similarities to former five-star and current Seminole Keonte King. While King has a more solid build, Ahmad's athletic ability is right up there."

Ahmad chose FSU over Texas A&M, Alabama, and Florida and will be the only wide receiver taken in this class.

    Vernon Amundson: Versatile and Dynamic

The third commitment comes from *Vernon Amundson*, a four-star defensive back from Seffner, FL (Armwood). Amundson, standing at 5'11" and weighing 194 pounds, is the #38 overall player in the class. He is being recruited as a versatile defensive back capable of playing all five positions on the back end.

"The coaches like me playing all five positions, and I feel I have the skill to play everywhere," Amundson said.

Ferrell echoed this sentiment: "Amundson's film as a corner is impressive, but he's one of the most versatile athletes you'll find. He can play any position equally well. The Noles didn't just hit a home run; they hit a grand slam with this DB class. Their elite prospects that can line up in multiple spots will make it incredibly difficult for offensive coordinators to game plan and quarterbacks to identify presnap."

    Building an Elite Recruiting Class

With these latest commitments, the Seminoles now have eight five-star commitments in the class, just one shy of tying Georgia Tech's record of nine in 2029. Florida State currently holds the #1 spot in the recruiting rankings as they aim to close out a strong cycle while pushing for playoff contention.

The future looks bright for Florida State as Coach Cameel Verner and his staff continue to build a dynasty in Tallahassee. With these new additions, the Seminoles are well-positioned for continued success on the field and on the recruiting trail.

        #303
Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)

        UP NEXT vs. UCF (4-5)

        THURSDAY NIGHT THRILL

The #2 Florida State Seminoles (9-0) are set to take on the UCF Knights (4-5) in Orlando this Thursday. Riding high after a breakout offensive performance against Baylor last week, the Seminoles are focused on maintaining their perfect record and inching closer to a College Football Playoff berth. The Noles have a short turnaround however as they travel to Orlando, FL for a big Thursday night game that can prove pivotal in the College Football Playoff race.

        Offensive Firepower
Florida State is led by quarterback Ko'Dallas Avery, who has thrown for 2,842 yards this season, completing 68% of his passes with 25 touchdowns. Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser is full of praise for Avery, saying, "K.D. has been incredibly impressive. His focus and execution have been on another level this year."

The Knights will have their hands full with the Seminoles' potent offensive attack, which includes several receivers capable of taking over a game. Junior WR Darcy Miller leads the team with 38 catches for 701 yards and 8 touchdowns. UCF Head Coach Joey Barbella acknowledged the challenge, stating, "Keeping FSU's offense in check is tough, especially with the stride they’ve hit in recent weeks. They have so many weapons."

        Defensive Turnaround

On the defensive side of the ball, Florida State has become one of the best units in the country. Head Coach Cameel Verner expressed his pride, saying, "I'm so proud of our defense for turning things around. Their improvement has really ignited our run this season."

Freshman defensive tackle Prince Harris is currently the frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy with 17 sacks on the season. He is just 4 sacks away from breaking the single-season school sack record set by former FSU DE Robert Tate in 2031. Defensive Coordinator Ryan Dukes marveled at Harris' production, saying, "It still amazes me how consistently productive Prince is on a game-by-game basis."

UCF Head Coach Joey Barbella knows the challenge ahead, stating, "Containing Harris is a must for us if we want to have a chance. He’s a game-changer in the trenches."

        UCF's Explosive Offense

The Knights boast a potent offense led by quarterback Justice Bloom, who has thrown for 2,515 yards on a 65% completion rate with 21 touchdowns. "Bloom is an even more dangerous player at home when the crowd is behind him. He’s had a great year so far," said Coach Verner.

Bloom's favorite target is Devontae Hazelwood, who has 515 receiving yards on the season. Defensively, UCF plays very good team defense and is one of the faster defensive teams in the conference. They have battled injuries all season but are starting to get healthy as they look to become bowl eligible.

UCF needs to win 2 of their last 3 games to be bowl eligible, and Verner knows the Knights will be eager to knock off the Seminoles. "We understand they’re going to give it their all to knock us off especially in front on a national audience. We have to be ready for their best effort," Verner said.

Keys to the Game and Analysis

        Florida State Keys to Victory:

Protect Ko'Dallas Avery: Keeping Avery upright and giving him time to make plays is crucial.

Defensive Pressure: Continue to apply pressure and disrupt Bloom’s rhythm.

Balanced Attack: Utilize their diverse receiving corps and strong run game to keep UCF’s defense off balance.

        UCF Keys to Victory:

Contain Prince Harris: Keep Harris in check to protect their quarterback.

Capitalize on Opportunities: Take advantage of any mistakes Florida State makes.

Strong Passing Game: Lean on their passing game to put pressure on Florida State's secondary.

This game promises to be an exciting contest as the Seminoles look to maintain their perfect record and UCF aims to pull off an upset to edge closer to bowl eligibility.

Player Bio Spotlight: RB Duane Linder

As the football season heats up, one player's journey stands out: Duane Linder, a senior running back from Havana, Florida. Standing at a formidable 6-0 and weighing 233 pounds, Linder's presence on the field is as commanding as his playing style.

        Early Career at Miami

Linder began his college football career at the University of Miami, where he spent his first four seasons. He made a significant impact two years ago, rushing for 735 yards and averaging 5.7 yards per carry. However, last season saw a decline in his role, with Linder managing only 257 yards, albeit with an impressive 7.4 yards per carry.

        The Big Transfer to FSU

In a surprising move, Linder transferred to Florida State University, despite the team’s already packed running back room. "I fell in love with the atmosphere at FSU," Linder said. "Coach Verner kept it real with me during the recruiting process. He told me if I worked hard and earned it, I’d have an opportunity, no matter how many running backs were already on the roster."

        A Rocky Start

Linder entered the year as the #3 back on the depth chart but faced a tough break when he injured his ankle on his first carry in the season opener against Northwestern. "Mentally, I was in a bad place," Linder admitted. "I knew this could be my last chance to make an impact, and being sidelined was tough."

Linder spent the next five games recovering from a high ankle sprain. The team took a cautious approach to his return, ensuring he was fully ready to get back on the field. The turning point came when Vontae Marshall was suspended and eventually dismissed, giving Linder another shot at proving himself.

        Return to Form

Linder seized this new opportunity with both hands. Last week against Baylor, he had his best game of the season, carrying the ball 20 times for 103 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser praised Linder's resilience: "Duane's been through a lot this season, but he never lost his focus. His determination and work ethic are showing now more than ever."

With three games left in his senior season, Linder is determined to leave his mark. "I'm going to make sure I take full advantage of every opportunity from here on out," Linder vowed.

As Linder prepares for his first start of the season against UCF in Orlando, fans and teammates alike will be watching closely to see how this resilient senior running back continues to rise above the challenges and make a lasting impact on the field.

        LB SANCHEZ DONGA RULED OUT

Redshirt Freshman LB Sanchez Donga Suffers Dislocated Ankle

In unfortunate news for the Florida State Seminoles, redshirt freshman linebacker Sanchez Donga suffered a dislocated ankle during the game against Baylor. He was seen in a boot and using crutches after the game. Today, it was confirmed that Donga will be out for at least five weeks.

Donga, a former Five-Star recruit from Lauderdale Lakes, FL, was the #6 overall player in his recruiting class. He redshirted last season, sitting behind first-round pick LB David Grier, who was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs 12th overall. Donga returned last week after missing most of the season with a shoulder sprain and played in the game against Northwestern, where he registered 8 tackles before leaving the game.

Despite his recent return, Donga has been extremely active and vocal in film sessions, even though he has missed time on the field. It is believed that since Donga has already burned his redshirt, he will apply for a medical redshirt this season as he looks to return to the field healthier than before.
Head Coach Cameel Verner expressed his disappointment, saying, "I'm really hurt for Chez. He's such an important part of our team, and it's tough to see him go down like this. We're all rooting for him to have a full recovery."
True freshman Evan Tremble has stepped up in Donga's absence and has performed admirably.Tremble, another former Five-Star recruit, is currently second on the team in tackles. Defensive Coordinator Ryan Dukes praised Tremble's performance, stating, "Evan has done an incredible job stepping up and taking on a bigger role than we originally anticipated. He's been a real asset for us this year."

The Seminoles will continue to rely on Tremble and the rest of the team as they navigate the rest of the season without Donga. ESPN Exclusive: The American Conference is Poised to Redefine College Football with a Billion-Dollar Breakthrough

By Taylor Clark - ESPN Senior Writer

In an unprecedented turn of events that promises to reshape the landscape of college football, the American Conference (AAC) has officially emerged as the new heavyweight contender among collegiate athletic conferences. Sources confirm a groundbreaking multi-billion dollar deal set to take effect in January 2035, marking the dawn of a Power 6 conference system in NCAA football. With the AAC at the helm, the SEC and ACC may soon find themselves in unfamiliar territory—chasing the top spot.

A confidential insider has disclosed that the deal amounts to an eye-watering $5.2 billion. This historic investment will incentivize schools to join the newly revamped AAC, offering unparalleled financial benefits and exposure. Each participating school stands to gain approximately $100 million annually through NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) revenue, TV rights deals, and other revenue streams.

AAC President Coley Johnson, the driving force behind this transformational shift, expressed his excitement: "This is more than just a financial arrangement. It is a commitment to our student-athletes, ensuring they receive the recognition and opportunities they deserve. The AAC will set new standards for collegiate athletics."

The response from college football programs across the nation has been overwhelming. Prestigious programs traditionally associated with other conferences are now vying for a spot in the AAC, drawn by the promise of substantial financial incentives and the chance to compete at the highest level. Blue bloods of the sport see this as an unprecedented opportunity to elevate their programs both on and off the field.

Johnson further elaborated, "We are thrilled to welcome so many prestigious institutions into the fold. Our goal is to create a competitive environment where every student-athlete thrives. The AAC is poised to become the premier destination for college football, providing unmatched exposure and resources."

In addition to the financial windfall, the AAC's new deal includes significant commitments to enhancing athlete welfare, upgrading facilities, and expanding scholarship opportunities. Schools joining the conference will benefit from a share of a $500 million annual fund dedicated to these critical areas.

The allure of these incentives has already led to speculation about which programs will make the jump to the AAC. Insiders hint at several high-profile schools expressing serious interest, drawn by the prospect of joining a conference that promises to dominate the college football scene.

As the college football world waits with bated breath, one thing is clear: the AAC's historic deal is set to revolutionize the sport. With the potential to attract top-tier talent, secure massive media deals, and foster a new era of competition, the American Conference is poised to redefine what it means to be the best in college football.

Stay tuned for further developments as we witness the dawn of a new era in NCAA football. The American Conference is not just making waves; it's creating a tidal shift.

                UP NEXT: PITT (7-3)

The #2 Florida State Seminoles (10-0) are set to take on the Pitt Panthers (7-3) in a game with huge playoff implications as the season approaches its climax. With the stakes high, both teams will be looking to solidify their standings and make a statement on the national stage.

                Florida State's Offensive Firepower

Florida State comes into the game boasting the nation’s top offense, averaging 613.6 yards per game and 42.3 points per game. Quarterback Ko'Dallas Avery has been a standout, throwing for 2,842 yards this season with a 68% completion rate and 25 touchdowns. Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser praised Avery, saying, "K.D. has been incredibly impressive. His focus and execution have been on another level this year."

Junior WR Darcy Miller leads the receiving corps with 38 catches for 701 yards and 8 touchdowns, making him a key target for Avery. Pitt Head Coach Hank Springer is well aware of the challenge, stating, "Florida State's offense is extremely potent, especially with the way they've hit their stride in recent weeks. They have so many weapons."

However, the Seminoles' offensive line has struggled, giving up 17 sacks in the last three games. Pitt will look to exploit this weakness. "We know the OL must protect K.D. against this team," Kiser acknowledged.

                Pitt's Balanced Attack

Pitt also boasts a top 5 offense and defense statistically. The Panthers average 39.7 points per game and are led by quarterback Marquise Newcomb, who has completed 65% of his passes for 2,667 yards with 25 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Running back Brian Birdine leads the rushing attack with 462 yards, averaging 4.8 yards per carry. The strength of Pitt's offense lies in their massive offensive line, which averages 322.6 pounds. This line will be tasked with containing FSU's formidable defensive front.

"Pitt has one of the best offensive lines we've faced in quite some time. They have three linemen who are expected to be on NFL rosters next year," noted Coach Verner. Pitt Head Coach Hank Springer added, "The Seminoles' front has been outstanding. We know the challenge that lies ahead, and our offensive line has to be up to it."

                Defensive Showdown

Defensively, Pitt is one of the stingiest units in the country, ranking top 10 in yards per play allowed and rush yards allowed. Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser acknowledged the challenge, stating, "We’re in for a dog fight. We have to be ready, and our guys need to execute."

For Florida State, Freshman Defensive Tackle Prince Harris is on the cusp of breaking the school record for sacks. Harris currently has 20 sacks on the year and needs just half a sack to tie and one to break the record set by former FSU DE Robert Tate in 2031. "We’ve game planned for Harris more than any other player this year. He’s the engine of their defense," said Springer.

                Florida State Keys to Victory:

Protect Ko'Dallas Avery: Ensuring Avery has time to make plays will be crucial.

Defensive Pressure: Apply pressure on Marquise Newcomb to disrupt his rhythm.

Capitalize on Turnovers: Be opportunistic when Pitt makes mistakes.

                Pitt Keys to Victory:

Control the Line of Scrimmage: Their offensive line must contain FSU’s pass rush.

Efficient Passing Game: Marquise Newcomb needs to make smart decisions.

Limit Big Plays: Keep Florida State’s explosive offense in check.

                Final Thoughts

This game promises to be an exciting clash as Florida State looks to maintain their perfect record and secure a College Football Playoff spot, while Pitt aims to bolster their own standing with a significant victory. Tune in to ABC at 3:30 PM ET to catch all the action.

                PREGAME PRESS CONFERENCE

                Head Coach Cameel Verner

Moderator: We'll start with an opening statement from Coach Verner before taking questions.

                Coach Verner:
Good afternoon, everyone. We’ve got a big game coming up against Pitt, and it’s an important one for us as we look to maintain our momentum heading into the final stretch of the season. Our team is focused, and we’re ready for the challenge ahead. Now, let's get to your questions.

Reporter 1: Coach Verner, do you think Prince Harris will break the school record for sacks in this game?

                Coach Verner:
Prince has been phenomenal this season, but we’re focused on the game as a whole. Records are secondary to our team goals. If he does his job and we execute as a team, everything else will fall into place.

Reporter 2: Pitt has a very explosive offense, and FSU has had a strong defense as of late. You haven't faced an offense like Pitt’s in a while. Do you think your defense is ready for the challenge?

                Coach Verner:
Absolutely. Our defense has shown significant improvement and resilience. Pitt is a tough opponent with a high-powered offense, and we’re aware of the challenges they present. Our guys are prepared, and we’ve had a strong week of practice focusing on their key playmakers.

Reporter 3: The offensive line has given up a lot of sacks in recent weeks, which was supposed to be a strength. How can they improve?

                Coach Verner:
It’s something we’re addressing every day in practice. Communication and technique are key. We’ve got to do a better job protecting K.D. and giving him the time he needs. Hats off to the opposing defenses, but we know we have to be better.

Reporter 4: Pitt has one of the best offensive lines in the country. How do you think your defensive front will fare against them?

                Coach Verner:
Pitt’s offensive line is impressive, no doubt about it. They’ve got some future NFL talent there. But I have full confidence in our defensive front. They’ve been relentless all year, and they’ll be up for the challenge.

Reporter 5: With the playoff implications of this game, what did you tell your team to keep them focused?

                Coach Verner:
I reminded them that every game is crucial at this stage. We can’t take anything for granted. Our preparation and execution must be at the highest level. It’s all about staying focused on the task at hand and taking it one game at a time.

Reporter 6: Pitt has struggled with turnovers in their losses. How important is it for your defense to be opportunistic?

                Coach Verner:
Very important. Turnovers can change the momentum of a game. Our defense has been great at creating takeaways, and we need to continue being opportunistic. When those opportunities arise, we need to capitalize on them.

Moderator: Thank you, Coach Verner. That’s all the time we have for today.

                Coach Verner:
Thank you. Have a great day, everyone. Go Noles!

                RECRUITING

Florida State Secures Three Big-Time Commitments Over the Weekend

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida State Seminoles had a productive weekend, landing three significant commitments that further solidify their top-ranked recruiting class for 2034. This latest haul brings added depth and talent to Coach Cameel Verner's squad as they continue to build for the future.

Jeremiah Simms: A Violent and Instinctive Edge Hybrid

The first commitment comes from Jeremiah Simms, a four-star linebacker from Quitman, GA (Brooks County). Standing at 6'3" and weighing 254 pounds, Simms is the #294 overall player in the class, the #29 player in the state of Georgia, and the #13 linebacker. FSU is recruiting Simms as an edge hybrid in their 3-3-5 defense, where his size and speed make him a versatile asset.

Rivals Recruiting Analyst Mike Ferrell praised Simms: "Jeremiah Simms is a violent linebacker with great instincts. He has the ability to read plays and react quickly, making him a disruptive force on the field. His physicality and speed allow him to excel in multiple spots in FSU's defense."

Simms chose Florida State over Tennessee and Auburn, adding another key piece to the Seminoles' defensive puzzle.

Tyreke Hoppes: A True Middle Linebacker from a FSU Pipeline

The second commitment is from Tyreke Hoppes, a four-star linebacker from Houston, TX (Carnegie). At 6'0" and 220 pounds, Hoppes is the #42 overall player in the class and the #2 linebacker. Carnegie has become a significant pipeline for FSU, producing talents like last year's #5 overall player Adrian Moore-Gomez and current five-star commit Manny Ecker.

"Tyreke Hoppes is a well-coached, true middle linebacker who can command any defense he plays in," Ferrell said. "His game is a testament to Carnegie's coaching, and he fits perfectly into Coach Verner's aggressive linebacker schemes."

Hoppes fills a crucial need at the Mike linebacker position and chose FSU over TCU and Ohio State.

Hakeem Bullocks: A Versatile Athlete from IMG Academy

The final commitment is from Hakeem Bullocks, a four-star athlete from Bradenton, FL (IMG Academy). Bullocks, who stands at 5'11" and weighs 180 pounds, plays multiple positions in high school. The Noles have not yet specified where Bullocks will play, but he will start as an athlete and will definitely return kicks.

"I talked to Coach Verner for an hour the day before I committed," Bullocks said. "They are bringing me in as an athlete because they like me at several positions, but I know for sure I'll be returning kicks. Personally, I love having the ball in my hands, but I'm willing to play wherever."

Ferrell highlighted Bullocks' versatility: "Hakeem Bullocks is a lightning-in-a-bottle kind of player. When he gets in space, you always hold your breath. Current FSU Junior CB Chris Sanders was similar in high school—electric with the ball. Now, Sanders is an All-American CB playing nickel for the Noles, so you never know what the staff has planned for Bullocks."

Bullocks chose Florida State over UCF and Miami.

                A Stellar Recruiting Class

With these new commitments, Florida State continues to hold the #1 spot in the recruiting rankings. Here's an update on the current commitments for the class:

ESPN Exclusive: Powerhouse Programs Commit to the AAC for 2035 Season

By Taylor Clark - ESPN Senior Writer

                  AAC President Coley Johnson

In a monumental shift that promises to redefine the landscape of college football, the American Conference (AAC) has announced the commitment of several powerhouse programs for the 2035 season. Georgia, Ohio State, Miami, Texas, Texas A&M, and Oregon have all pledged to join the AAC, heralding a new era in collegiate sports.

For those new to the development, the AAC recently secured a groundbreaking $5.2 billion deal aimed at transforming it into the premier conference in NCAA football. This historic investment includes significant NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) revenue, substantial TV rights deals, and other financial incentives. The AAC's strategic vision promises unmatched exposure, resources, and opportunities for student-athletes, positioning the conference as the new leader in college athletics.

AAC President Coley Johnson, the architect behind this seismic shift, expressed his excitement: "This is more than just a financial arrangement. It is a transformative movement in college athletics, a commitment to our student-athletes and institutions to ensure they receive the recognition and opportunities they deserve. The addition of these prestigious programs solidifies the AAC as the premier destination for college football."

The commitment of Georgia, Ohio State, Miami, Texas, Texas A&M, and Oregon to the AAC is a testament to the conference's newfound prestige and the appeal of its ambitious vision. These programs, each with storied histories and traditions, are expected to elevate the level of competition and bring significant attention to the AAC.

As the AAC aims to have between 12-16 teams for the 2035 season, the football community is abuzz with speculation about which other teams might join this elite conference. The allure of substantial financial incentives, combined with the opportunity to compete at the highest level, makes the AAC an attractive option for many programs.

"We are thrilled to welcome these distinguished institutions into the AAC," Johnson added. "Our goal is to create a competitive environment where every student-athlete thrives. The AAC is poised to redefine college football, providing unmatched exposure and resources."

With Georgia, Ohio State, Miami, Texas, Texas A&M, and Oregon leading the charge, the AAC is set to usher in a new era of college football. As we await further announcements, the question remains: Who else will join this revolutionary conference and help shape the future of NCAA football?

Charlotte, NC – The University of Charlotte has announced that Florida State Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser has accepted the position of Head Coach for the Charlotte 49ers. This comes as Charlotte transitions from Conference USA to the ACC next season.

Charlotte's Athletic Director, Mike Hill, expressed excitement about the hire: "We are thrilled to welcome Hayden Kiser as our new head coach. His experience and success at FSU, combined with his knowledge in the ACC make him the perfect fit for our program as we make this significant transition."

Kiser, was a former Five-Star recruit out of Humble,TX. He played Quarterback under Verner at Georgia Tech from 2024-2026, winning a national title during his tenure. UP NEXT: #5 FLORIDA (10-1)

The Sunshine Showdown: A Rivalry Renewed

The Sunshine State is set to witness one of the most anticipated college football games of the season as the #5 Florida Gators take on the #2 Florida State Seminoles. This rivalry, known as the "Sunshine Showdown," has a rich history and significant implications for the playoff picture.

                        Cameel Verner on the Rivalry

Cameel Verner, a former Florida State Linebacker and two-time All-American, shared his thoughts on the rivalry:

"This game means everything to us. It's not just about bragging rights; it's about proving our dominance in the state and making a statement on a national level. The impact on the playoffs is huge, and we're ready to rise to the occasion."

                        Florida's Offensive Threat: D.J. Carden

Led by quarterback D.J. Carden, who has had a spectacular season with 65% completion rate, 3,430 yards, and 39 touchdowns, Florida's offense is a force to be reckoned with.

Ryan Dukes, Florida State's defensive coordinator, emphasized the importance of disrupting Carden's rhythm:

"If we don't make him uncomfortable, it's going to be a long day for us. We need to get in his face, pressure him, and force him into mistakes."

                        Gators' Rushing Attack

Clifton Roe and John Fehoko lead the Gators' rushing attack, combining for 638 yards and averaging over 5 yards per carry.

                        Verner on Containing Explosive Plays
Verner highlighted the need to contain Florida's explosive plays:

"We can't allow them to break big plays. Our defense has to be disciplined and make sure we keep the scoreboard in our favor."

                        Florida's Experienced Secondary

The Gators' secondary, led by S Greg Meekins and S Trevor Garner, is one of the best units Florida State has faced this year.

                        Ball Security and Takeaways

Verner stressed the importance of ball security, noting that Florida is top 5 in the country in takeaways:

"We have to be smart with the ball. The Gators are relentless in creating turnovers, and we can't afford to give them extra possessions."

                        Florida's Premier Pass Rushers

Manu Decicco and Carlos Devito, with 7 and 6 sacks respectively, pose a significant threat to Florida State's offensive line, which has struggled with protection recently.

                        Verner on Offensive Line Performance

"The line must step up big this week in pass protection. We know the Gators have a formidable front, and we can't let them disrupt our game plan."

                        Heisman Front-Runner Prince Harris

Florida head coach John Anderson expressed his concerns about Heisman front-runner Prince Harris:

"Prince Harris is a major concern for us. Our offensive line has to do their job and keep him protected."

Anderson also praised the Seminoles' front:

"They have an amazing strong front, but we need to dominate the trenches on both sides of the ball."

Kirk Herbstreit commented on the matchup:

"These teams are almost identical in terms of physicality and playmakers. It's going to be a battle in the trenches, and the team that wins up front will likely come out on top."

                        Keys to Victory

                        For Florida:

Pressure Ko'Dallas Avery: Disrupt the Seminoles' quarterback to force mistakes.

Limit Big Plays: Contain Florida State's explosive playmakers.

Win the Turnover Battle: Force turnovers and protect the ball.

                        For Florida State:

Protect Ko'Dallas Avery: Ensure the offensive line steps up in pass protection.

Establish the Run Game: Utilize the rushing attack to control the clock.

Win the Trenches: Dominate the offensive and defensive lines.

                        Game Details

The game is set for 3:30 PM on ABC, promising to be an electrifying showdown with high stakes for both teams.

                        ***BREAKING NEWS***

Hayden Kiser Named Head Coach at University of Charlotte, Won't Coach Against Florida

Tallahassee, FL – In a surprising turn of events, Florida State Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser will not coach in the highly anticipated game against #5 Florida this weekend. Kiser has been announced as the new head coach for the University of Charlotte, who will transition from Conference USA to the ACC next year.

Head Coach Cameel Verner expressed his support for Kiser’s new journey, saying, "I'm excited for Hayden and his new opportunity at Charlotte. He's been an integral part of our success, and I can't be more happy for him. We wish him the best of luck."

Verner further explained the decision, noting, "It was in Hayden's best interest to get a head start on his new program, and I didn’t want it to be a distraction to our team." With Florida State sitting at 11-0 on the year and an ACC Championship game on the horizon next week, the team faces a significant adjustment without their main play-caller.

Former FSU quarterback (2030-2033) and current graduate assistant Clay Tillman will step in as the interim Offensive Coordinator. "Clay Tillman will be calling the plays against Florida this weekend," Verner confirmed. "He's been with us through this journey, and I have full confidence in his ability to lead our offense."

With huge playoff implications on the line, it will be interesting to see how the Seminoles adjust to this sudden change in leadership as they face their in-state rival, the Florida Gators.

                        RECRUITING

Seminoles Land Three More Commitments After Pitt Win

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida State Seminoles continue to impress on the recruiting trail, securing three more commitments following their dominant win against Pitt. Head Coach Cameel Verner and his staff have added significant talent to their 2034 recruiting class, addressing key needs and bolstering both the defense and the offensive line.

Gabe Chick: An Old-School Middle Linebacker

The first commitment comes from Gabe Chick, a four-star linebacker from Gulf Shores, AL (Gulf Shores). Standing at 5'11" and weighing 230 pounds, Chick is the #54 overall player and the #3 player in the state of Alabama. FSU recruited Chick as an edge hybrid in their 3-3-5 defense, recognizing his ability to fill a critical role.

Rivals Recruiting Analyst Mike Ferrell praised Chick: "Gabe Chick is an old-school middle linebacker, a thumper of a hitter who's very good at reading, reacting, and attacking. He's a bit undersized, but what he lacks in size he more than makes up for with speed and instincts."

Chick chose Florida State over Auburn and Alabama, marking another significant recruiting win for Coach Verner.

Jayson Wesevich: A Defensive Line Anchor

The second commitment is from Jayson Wesevich, a three-star defensive tackle from Tampa, FL (Jefferson). At 6'5" and 325 pounds, Wesevich is recruited as a 0 technique on the defensive line, where he excels at plugging gaps and stopping the run.

"Wesevich is a key addition to our defensive line," said Coach Verner. "He may need some work in the passing game, but his ability to anchor the interior and provide depth at the nose tackle position is invaluable."

Abdul Hart: A High-Upside Offensive Tackle

The final commitment comes from Abdul Hart, a three-star offensive tackle from Vero Beach, FL (Indian River). Standing at 6'7" and weighing 305 pounds, Hart has only been playing football since the 10th grade but possesses a high upside due to his size and potential.

"Abdul Hart has something that can't be taught—size," said Ferrell. "With the recruitment of Manny Ecker and Cortez Hamilton, FSU's offensive line class is looking very solid. It'll be exciting to see how Hart develops throughout his career."

                        Current Commitments

ESPN Exclusive: AAC Grows Stronger with New Powerhouse Additions for 2035 Season

By Taylor Clark - ESPN Senior Writer

                          New AAC President Coley Johnson

The American Conference (AAC) continues to shake up the college football world with its latest announcements. With the addition of Boise State, USC, Michigan, and Alabama, the AAC now boasts 10 teams ready to compete in the 2035 season. This transformative move is part of the AAC's ambitious plan to redefine the college football landscape.

For those new to the story, the AAC recently secured a groundbreaking $5.2 billion deal designed to establish it as a leading conference in NCAA football. The deal offers significant financial incentives, including NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) revenue, lucrative TV rights deals, and other benefits aimed at attracting top-tier programs. This strategic vision is set to elevate the AAC to unprecedented heights, ensuring unmatched exposure, resources, and opportunities for student-athletes.

AAC President Coley Johnson, the mastermind behind this revolutionary shift, shared his enthusiasm about the latest additions: "We are thrilled to welcome Boise State, USC, Michigan, and Alabama to the American Conference. This is more than just a financial arrangement; it's a commitment to excellence and a new era for collegiate athletics."

The commitment of these high-profile programs brings the AAC's total to 10 teams, with the conference aiming to expand to between 12 and 16 teams for the 2035 season. The current AAC teams face a critical decision: they must either join a new conference or go independent before the new year.

The AAC's current roster of teams for the 2035 season includes:

                          ∙Georgia

                          ∙Ohio State

                          ∙Miami

                          ∙Texas

                          ∙Texas A&M

                          ∙Oregon

                          ∙Boise State

                          ∙USC

                          ∙Michigan

                          ∙Alabama

As the college football community speculates on which teams might join next, the AAC's aggressive recruitment strategy has already drawn significant attention. The promise of substantial financial incentives, combined with the opportunity to compete at the highest level, makes the AAC an attractive option for many programs.

"We are building something truly special here at the AAC," Johnson continued. "Our goal is to create a competitive environment where every student-athlete can thrive. With these new additions, we are well on our way to achieving that vision."

As the AAC moves closer to its target of 12-16 teams for the 2035 season, the excitement continues to build. The addition of Boise State, USC, Michigan, and Alabama is just the beginning of what promises to be a thrilling new chapter in college football.

Stay tuned for further updates as the AAC continues to shape the future of NCAA athletics. The question remains: who will join next in this revolutionary conference?

                              UP NEXT: #8 MIAMI (10-2)

The stakes couldn't be higher as the #1 Florida State Seminoles (12-0) prepare to take on the #8 Miami Hurricanes (10-2) in the ACC Championship Game. This matchup has massive playoff implications and features one of the most intense rivalries in college football.

The Seminoles are riding high after a big win against Florida last week, but they face significant concerns heading into this game. Head Coach Cameel Verner expressed his excitement about being in the championship, stating, "It's an honor to be here. Our team has worked hard all season to reach this point."

However, the team has faced major changes with the departure of Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser, who left to become the head coach at Charlotte. This left a significant hole in leadership on the offensive side. The Noles, who had been averaging over 600 yards and 40 points per game, managed just 299 yards and 20 points against Florida.

Former FSU QB Clay Tillman has taken over as interim OC. Coach Verner believes in his former quarterback but acknowledged the challenge, saying, "Florida's defense was one of the best in the country, and Miami's defense will be just as challenging."

Another massive concern is the offensive line, which has given up 52 sacks this season. Miami's formidable defensive front will look to exploit this weakness. "The line must step up big this week in pass protection. Miami's front is very good," Verner stated.

Quarterback Ko'Dallas Avery, despite the pressure, has completed 67% of his passes for 3,588 yards and 30 touchdowns. But with star DT Prince Harris out with a torn labrum, the Noles will need to rally defensively. "Losing Prince is a significant blow, but our defense must step up and fill that void," Verner said.

                              Miami's Explosive Offense

Miami is led by true freshman quarterback Benjamin Hawkins, who has had a rollercoaster season. Hawkins has completed 63% of his passes for 3,403 yards with 29 touchdowns but also 23 interceptions. Miami boasts one of the fastest WR corps in the country and a capable running back in John Adebo, who averages 5.8 yards per carry with 811 rushing yards.

With Prince Harris out, the question is whether the Noles can contain Miami's run game and explosive offense.

                              Florida State Keys to Victory:

Protect Ko'Dallas Avery: The offensive line must improve their protection to give Avery time to make plays.

Establish the Run Game: The ground game needs to be effective to take pressure off Avery.

Rally Defensively: The defense must step up in Harris's absence to contain Miami's offense.

                              Miami Keys to Victory:

Pressure Avery: Exploit Florida State's weak offensive line to disrupt their passing game.

Efficient Passing Game: Hawkins needs to limit turnovers and make smart decisions.

Strong Defensive Front: Contain Florida State's run game and apply pressure on Avery.

This game promises to be an intense battle, with both teams having a lot on the line. Can the Seminoles overcome their obstacles and secure another ACC Championship, or will Miami capitalize on their weaknesses? Tune in to ABC at 8:00 PM ET to catch all the action.

                              ***BREAKING NEWS***

Heisman Front-Runner Prince Harris Ruled Out for ACC Championship Game

Tallahassee, FL – In a significant blow to the Florida State Seminoles, Freshman DT Prince Harris, the Heisman front-runner and national leader in sacks with 23, has been ruled out for the ACC Championship Game due to a torn labrum. Harris, who set the Florida State school record for sacks in a single season, surpassing the previous record held by Robert Tate (20.5), could miss 4 to 6 weeks with the injury if he does not undergo surgery.

Head Coach Cameel Verner expressed the impact of losing Harris, stating, "Prince has been a game-changer for us all season. His presence on the field demands attention and creates opportunities for the entire defense. Losing him is a significant setback, but our team will rally and step up in his absence."

ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit weighed in on the situation, saying, "This is a massive blow to the Seminoles. Prince Harris is a dominant force that requires so much attention from opposing offenses. His absence makes the gameplan for Miami in the ACC Championship much less complicated. Florida State will need to find a way to compensate for his loss as they chase the College Football Playoff."

Harris, a former Four-Star from Memphis, TN has been the catalyst to a dominant Florida State defense. His injury is a torn labrum, and while surgery is an option, it would likely sideline him for the remainder of the season. If he opts not to undergo surgery and the Seminoles make a deep playoff push, there is a possibility he could return in time for the National Championship, but that remains uncertain.

As the Seminoles prepare for the ACC Championship Game against Miami, the absence of their star Defensive Tackle will be a significant factor. Harris' ability to disrupt offenses and create opportunities for his teammates has been a cornerstone of Florida State's success this season. The team will need to rally and find a way to maintain their defensive prowess without him on the field.

                              RECRUITING

Seminoles Add Four More Commitments to Stacked Recruiting Class

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida State Seminoles continue to make headlines on the recruiting trail, securing four new commitments that bolster their already impressive 2034 recruiting class. Head Coach Cameel Verner and his staff are putting together one of the best classes in the nation, addressing key positions with top talent.

                              Ross Rooks: Versatile Linebacker

The first commitment comes from Ross Rooks, a Four-Star Linebacker from Winter Park, FL (Lake Nona). Standing at 6'4" and weighing 220 pounds, Rooks is a versatile player who can line up at edge or outside linebacker for the Noles.

"The Noles like me as a guy who can blitz and use my athletic ability," Rooks said. "I love what I've seen from FSU's linebackers this year and think I fit right in."

Rooks chose Florida State over Nebraska, UCF, and South Florida, adding to the Noles' stellar linebacker group.

                              Neil Schulters: A Physical Quarterback

The second commitment is from Neil Schulters, a Three-Star Quarterback from Daphne, AL (Spanish Fort). At 6'4" and 227 pounds, Schulters is a physical QB who also played linebacker in high school before focusing solely on the quarterback position.

Rivals Recruiting Analyst Mike Ferrell commented on Schulters' commitment: "Neil Schulters is the perfect complement to five-star Arian DeCastro. Schulters is a completely different QB—he's a physical runner who won't shy away from contact, something he'll need to adjust to at the next level. But he's a gritty southern kid, and with the right development, he could be something special."

                              Vernon Penny: Speedy Cornerback

The third commitment comes from Vernon Penny, a Three-Star Cornerback from Marrero, LA (John Ehret). Standing at 6'0" and weighing 185 pounds, Penny is known for his speed and chose FSU over ULL, LA Tech, and SMU.

"I love DC Ryan Dukes and can't wait to play for him," Penny said. "They want to cross-train me in all five defensive back spots."

                              Malcom Faulk: Nickelback Specialist

The final commitment comes from Malcom Faulk, a Three-Star Cornerback from Kissimmee, FL (Osceola). At 5'11" and 202 pounds, Faulk has been recruited to play the Hawk position (nickel) for the Noles. He excels in both run support and coverage.

Faulk chose Florida State over Clemson, North Carolina, and Texas Tech.

                              Current Commitments
