    UP NEXT: #7 AUBURN

    AVERY TO RETURN VS AUBURN

The Seminoles are preparing for a tough road test this week as they prepare for #7 Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Last season the Seminoles won vs Auburn in 2 Overtimes at home. That game was Ko'Dallas Avery's first Collegiate game. This time, he will face Auburn in his first action of the season. He was suspended last week due to violation of team rules. While backup QB Antwaan Fortier played admirably, Avery's explosive playmaking ability is hard to ignore.

"We're glad to have him back this week" said Hayden Kiser. "We've got the issues behind us and are ready to move forward. We've got a very difficult task ahead of us this week. So preparation will be key."

    SECONDARY LOOKING TO REBOUND

The Seminole defense struggled in pass defense last weekend. This week the Secondary looks to rebound from a dismal performance through the air. All-American CB Chris Sanders has taken it personally that the Noles will look to fix their issues.

"We are way better than what we showed last week. It's never acceptable to give up 400 yards through the air. We are better than that. We've just go to go out there, focus and play our game. It doesnt get any more simple than that" said the Redshirt Junior from Troy, AL

    INJURIES

The Noles will be without it's starting Middle Linebacker as Sanchez Donga is expected to bout the next 8 weeks with a broken Collarbone.

Backup Running Back Duane Linder also is expected to miss the next 6 weeks with an injury as well.

The Game will air on ABC at 2:30

      GAME RECAP

      NOLES REMAIN UNBEATEN

The Seminoles walk out of Jordan-Hare Stadium with a narrow 41-39 victory. while the final score was close, the Seminoles controlled most of the game. And the biggest question mark was how would the Seminoles defense rebound from a dismal start to the season against Northwestern. Defensive Coordinator Ryan Dukes was pretty pleased for the most part after the game.

"We held them to 6 field goals. I was proud of the resiliency. We got stops when we needed. We did a very good job for the majority of the game. We still have a ton of room for improvement though." said Dukes.

The Noles defense were put in bad spots during the game by the offense, but still held Auburn to 6 Field Goals, which is extremely impressive noting the Seminoles Offense had 5 turnovers in the game.

      K.D. Shines in his Return

Ko'Dallas Avery, in his first start of the season was nothing short of amazing. He was suspended last week for the season opener, and showed no signs of rust. Avery completed 73% of his passes for 379 yards and 4 Touchdowns with 0 interceptions. However, in the running game he did contribute to 3 Fumbles on the day.

Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser was pleased with his performance.

"He played well. He led the offense well, got us in and out of protections, and just made plays." said Kiser

While Auburn stiflied the Seminoles rushing attack, they excelled tremendously through the air.Former Five-Star Sophomore TE Gavin Houston (6-8, 240) led the Seminoles in receiving with 6 catches for 112 yards and a TD. With the Seminoles beating Auburn, they have defeated two top 25 teams in consecutive weeks as they now turn their focus to their home opener against James Madison next week.

      POST GAME PRESS CONFERENCE

Question: Last week you were very opinionated on your defense. This week, your defense allowed 343 yard through the air. How do you feel about this weeks peformance?

We played well. Numbers are going to skew some due to the fact we led most of the game. We kept their run game from being explosive. That's a plus because they have some great ball carriers. Our offense put our defense in some bad situations with turnovers, and held them to 3 points instead of 6. So that's a big swing there. We got things we need to work on but I'm proud of the effort I saw today

Question: Ko'Dallas had a heck of a game today. Throught the first two games you have two different Quarterbacks with wins against top 25 oppononents. Does that make gameplanning easier for you?

KD played a heck of a game today. We got to do a better job of taking care of the ball though. But he played well. And naturally it does make things easier during the week. But we knew throughout camp what we had on our team. It's just my job as a coach to put them in the best position to succeed.

Question: Your defensive line produced 7 sacks, led by Prince Harris and Shawn Ray Butler. Whats your thoughts on their performance?

Prince Harris is one of the best Interior Lineman I've ever had the privledge to coach. It's a shame of the circumstances he went through last year being ineligble to play. But he's come out strong this season and put all of that behind him. And Shawn Ray is different and special. He's one of the few kids nowadays who sat and waited his turn. You guys remember he came here behind three All-American First Rounders in Robert Tate two years ago and Alaadin and Jonathan Stephens last season. I'm proud of his work ethic and demeanor. They are special players.

Question: Next week you face James Madison. Is your plan to rest your starters?

It's business as usual. We dont take weeks off. The best available will play and we will coach them hard. James Madison is a great school and a good team despite the record.

        GAMEDAY vs JAMES MADISION(0-2)

        GAME RECAP

Florida State Dominates James Madison 44-16 in Week 3 Showdown

TALLAHASSEE, FL – The Florida State Seminoles, under the leadership of Head Coach Cameel Verner, continued their strong start to the 2034 season with a commanding 44-16 victory over James Madison. The win brings the Seminoles to a 2-1 record, while James Madison falls to 0-3.

Offensive Highlights: Redshirt Freshman quarterback Ko Dallas Avery had a rollercoaster performance. After a breakout game against #7 Auburn, Avery threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns. However, his day was marred by four interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. “I need to clean up those mistakes,” Avery admitted post-game. “The defense bailed us out today, and I have to be better moving forward.”

Sophomore Running Back Rohkan Fredrick, a former Five-Star recruit, showcased his talent with 10 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown. His explosive runs helped set the tone for the Seminoles’ offense.

Defensive Dominance: The Seminoles’ defense was the story of the day, setting a school record with 16 sacks. Redshirt Sophomore Radavius Butler and Redshirt Junior Shawn Ray Butler each recorded four sacks, while Freshman phenom Prince Harris added two more. The defense, which had been criticized for allowing big plays in previous games, held James Madison to just 203 yards of total offense.

Head Coach Cameel Verner praised his team’s defensive effort: “Our defense was relentless today. They played with heart and intensity, and it showed. This is the kind of performance we need to build on for the rest of the season.”

Looking Ahead: With this victory, Florida State looks to carry their momentum into the next week. The Seminoles will need to address their offensive turnovers, but their defensive prowess gives them a solid foundation to build upon as they approach the Bye Week next weekend. They will be truly tested in two weeks in the ACC Opener vs Louisville.

Stay tuned for more updates as the Seminoles continue their quest for dominance in the 2034 season.

          RECRUITING NEWS

Florida State Secures Three Key Commitments During Bye Week

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida State Seminoles, currently ranked #1 in the country and undefeated at 3-0, made significant strides in their 2034 recruiting class during their Bye Week. Head Coach Cameel Verner and his staff secured commitments from three highly-touted prospects, bolstering their roster with versatile and talented players who fit perfectly into their 3-3-5 defensive scheme and offensive line needs.

Malik Garland: A Versatile Force on the Defensive Line

The first commitment came from Malik Garland, a four-star defensive end from Moultrie, GA (Colquitt County). Standing at 6’6" and weighing 275 pounds, Garland is the 249th overall player in the class and the 9th ranked defensive end. His combination of size, speed, and strength allows him to play multiple positions along the defensive line, making him an ideal fit for FSU’s 3-3-5 defense.

“Garland’s versatility is a game-changer for us,” said Coach Verner. “He can line up inside or outside, giving us flexibility in our defensive schemes. His ability to disrupt the backfield and pressure the quarterback will be invaluable.”

Manny Ecker: The Future Anchor of the Offensive Line

The second commitment was from Manny Ecker, a five-star offensive tackle from Houston, TX (Yates). Ecker, who stands at 6’5" and weighs 335 pounds, is the #27 overall recruit and the #2 offensive tackle in the class. Despite being listed as a tackle, FSU recruited him to play guard, where his quickness, explosiveness, and mean streak will be put to best use.

Rivals Recruiting Analyst Mike Ferrell praised Ecker, saying, “Manny Ecker is a physical run blocker and a very tactical pass blocker with elite footwork and technique. He has NFL size with room to grow as he continues to fill out his frame. FSU moving him to offensive guard could be scary for opposing defenses in the future.”

Coach Verner added, “Ecker’s transition to guard will solidify our interior line. His ability to dominate in the trenches and protect our quarterback is exactly what we need.”

Johnathan Wusu: A Dynamic Edge Rusher

The final commitment came from Johnathan Wusu, a four-star defensive end from Laurel, MD. Wusu is the #92 overall prospect in the country and the #3 defensive end. At 6’2" and 232 pounds, he has the potential to play both the Spud and Bandit positions (OLB) in FSU’s 3-3-5 scheme, providing a dynamic pass-rushing threat on obvious passing downs.

“Wusu reminds us a lot of Jonathan Stephens, our first-round pick from last year,” said Coach Verner. “His ability to rush the passer and drop into coverage makes him a perfect fit for our defense. We’re excited to see how he develops.”

          Building Depth and Versatility

With these three commitments, Florida State is off to a strong start in their 2034 recruiting class. The Seminoles are focused on adding depth to their defensive line and linebacker room, and these recruits fit the bill perfectly. Garland’s versatility, Ecker’s dominance on the offensive line, and Wusu’s dynamic pass-rushing ability will all play crucial roles in maintaining FSU’s status as a powerhouse in college football.

As the season progresses, Seminole fans can look forward to seeing these future stars don the garnet and gold, continuing the legacy of excellence at Florida State.

            #290
Re: FSU: The Rebuild and "the Return" (NCAA 2019 Dynasty)

            UP NEXT: LOUISVILLE (3-0)

The stage is set for a thrilling ACC opener as the top-ranked Florida State Seminoles, led by Head Coach Cameel Verner, travel to Louisville to face the undefeated Cardinals. Both teams enter the game with perfect 3-0 records, promising an intense showdown at Cardinal Stadium.

            #1 Florida State Seminoles (3-0)

Florida State has been an offensive juggernaut, averaging 44.3 points per game despite recent turnover struggles. Quarterback Ko’Dallas Avery will look to bounce back after a tough outing against James Madison, where he threw four interceptions. Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser expressed concerns about Louisville’s aggressive defense, stating, “Louisville’s defense is relentless. They attack from all angles, and we need to be sharp and disciplined to counter their pressure.”

Defensively, the Seminoles have shown vulnerability against the pass, ranking among the worst in pass defense against Power 5 opponents. Defensive Coordinator Ryan Dukes acknowledged this issue, saying, “We’ve been giving up too many chunk plays. Our focus this week is on tightening our coverage and improving our communication in the secondary.”

However, the Seminoles’ defensive line has been a bright spot, setting a school record with 16 sacks last week against James Madison. Freshman Defensive Tackle Prince Harris leads the team with 6.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss, while DE Shawn Ray Butler has added 6 sacks. This formidable pass rush will be tested against a Louisville offensive line that has yet to allow a sack this season.

            Louisville Cardinals (3-0)

Louisville’s offense is spearheaded by redshirt sophomore QB Tevin Rabe, who has been efficient and mistake-free, completing 65% of his passes for 7 touchdowns with no interceptions. Defensively, the Cardinals boast a top-10 unit led by Junior DE Darryl De Beer, who has recorded 5.5 sacks in just three games. Louisville’s defense is filled with playmakers, making them a formidable challenge for any offense.

Head Coach Joey Casey acknowledged the challenge posed by Florida State’s pass rush, stating, “Florida State’s defensive line is one of the best we’ve seen. Our offensive line will need to be at their best to keep Tevin [Rabe] clean and give him time to make plays.”

Keys to the Game for Florida State:

Protect the Football: Ko’Dallas Avery must avoid turnovers and make smart decisions against an aggressive Louisville defense.

Tighten Pass Defense: The secondary needs to limit big plays and improve coverage to contain Tevin Rabe.

Win the Trenches: The defensive line must continue their dominant play and pressure Rabe, while the offensive line needs to protect Avery and establish the run game.

            Matchup to Watch:

Florida State’s defensive line vs. Louisville’s offensive line. This battle in the trenches will be crucial, as the Seminoles’ pass rush looks to disrupt Rabe’s rhythm, while the Cardinals aim to maintain their perfect record of not allowing a sack.

            Quotes:

Hayden Kiser, FSU Offensive Coordinator: “Louisville’s defense is relentless. They attack from all angles, and we need to be sharp and disciplined to counter their pressure.”

Ryan Dukes, FSU Defensive Coordinator: “We’ve been giving up too many chunk plays. Our focus this week is on tightening our coverage and improving our communication in the secondary.”

Joey Casey, Louisville Head Coach: “Florida State’s defensive line is one of the best we’ve seen. Our offensive line will need to be at their best to keep Tevin [Rabe] clean and give him time to make plays.”

            PRE GAME PRESS CONFERENCE NOTES
Featuring Florida State Head Coach Cameel Verner

Moderator: Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you for joining us today. We have Head Coach Cameel Verner here to discuss the upcoming ACC opener against Louisville. We’ll start with questions. Please raise your hand, and I’ll call on you.

Reporter 1: Coach Verner, your team is currently ranked #1 in the country. How are you managing the pressure and expectations going into this ACC opener?

Coach Verner: Well, first off, it’s a great honor to be ranked #1, but we know that rankings don’t win games. Our focus is on preparation and execution. The team has been working hard, and we’re taking it one game at a time. Louisville is a strong opponent, and we need to be at our best.

Reporter 2: Coach, there have been concerns about your defense giving up big chunk plays in the passing game. How are you addressing this issue?

Coach Verner: It’s definitely something we’ve been working on. We’ve been focusing on improving our communication and coverage techniques. Our secondary has been putting in extra work to tighten up those areas. We know Louisville has a capable passing attack, so it’s crucial we limit those big plays.

Reporter 3: Coach, your pass rush has been impressive so far this season, but Louisville hasn’t given up a sack yet. How do you plan to break through their offensive line?

Coach Verner: Our pass rush has been a strength, and we’re proud of the effort our guys have put in. Louisville’s offensive line is solid, and they haven’t given up a sack, which is a testament to their protection schemes. We’ll need to be creative with our blitz packages and maintain relentless pressure to disrupt their rhythm.

Reporter 4: Can you give us an update on the health of your team? We heard LB Sanchez Donga and RB Duane Linder are still out.

Coach Verner: Yes, unfortunately, Sanchez Donga is still out for a few weeks, and backup running back Duane Linder is also unavailable. It’s tough losing key players, but it’s an opportunity for others to step up. Our depth will be tested, and I have confidence in the guys filling those roles. We needed the bye week to heal up some bangs and bruises which is normal after a tough beginning to the schedule. We were in some dog fights vs two Top 25 teams. So outside of that we are relatively healthy now.

Reporter 5: Coach, after throwing four interceptions against James Madison, do you think Ko'Dallas Avery is more aware this week about taking care of the football?

            Coach Verner:
K.D. is a talented quarterback, and he’s been working hard to correct those mistakes. We’ve had some good conversations about decision-making and ball security. He’s shown great awareness in practice this week, and I believe he’ll be more focused on protecting the football against Louisville.

Reporter 6: How advantageous is it to have a bye week right before a conference opener?

Coach Verner: The bye week has been incredibly beneficial. It gave us extra time to heal up, review our performance, and prepare for Louisville. We were able to address some areas of concern and fine-tune our game plan. Having that extra time can make a big difference, especially heading into a tough conference matchup.

Moderator: Thank you, Coach Verner, and thank you to all the reporters for your questions. That concludes today’s press conference. We’ll see you all at the game.

Get ready for an epic clash as Florida State and Louisville battle for ACC supremacy!

                  UP NEXT: GEORGIA TECH (4-0)

The Florida State Seminoles, ranked #1 in the nation, are set to host the undefeated Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in a highly anticipated ACC showdown. Both teams come into the game with perfect 4-0 records, making this a crucial early-season test for both squads.

                  Florida State Seminoles (4-0):

Florida State’s offense has been explosive, averaging over 40 points per game. However, recent struggles in protecting the quarterback and ball security have raised concerns. Quarterback Ko’Dallas Avery has thrown seven interceptions in the last two games and was sacked six times last week. Head Coach Cameel Verner emphasized the importance of improving these areas, stating, “We’ve focused on protecting the football and giving Ko’Dallas the time he needs to make plays. Our offensive line has been working hard in practice to address these issues.”

Defensively, the Seminoles have been led by standout freshman DT Prince Harris, who had a monster game last week with 12 tackles, 9 for loss, and 4 sacks. Harris has been a key contributor all season and will be crucial in this matchup. Despite ranking among the worst in pass defense nationally, the Seminoles showed signs of improvement for three quarters against Louisville. Coach Verner commented, “Our secondary needs to put together a complete game. We’ve seen progress, but we need consistency to control the air better.”

                  Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (4-0):

Georgia Tech boasts a balanced offensive attack and one of the best defenses in the ACC. Redshirt junior QB Jalen Rourke has been the engine driving the Yellow Jackets’ offense, with impressive stats so far this season. Rourke’s ability to make plays both through the air and on the ground will be key for Georgia Tech to pull off the upset. Head Coach Matteo Sledge praised his quarterback, saying, “Jalen is our leader. His decision-making and playmaking abilities are what make our offense go.”

Defensively, the Yellow Jackets have been stellar, with a unit that has consistently shut down opponents. Coach Sledge acknowledged the challenge posed by Florida State’s pass rush, which has recorded 28 sacks in the last two games. “Florida State’s defensive line is exceptional. Their ability to get to the quarterback is unmatched, and we need to be at our best to protect Jalen and execute our game plan,” Sledge remarked. “We’ve prepared our team and challenged them this week. I think they understand what's at stake.”

Keys to the Game for Florida State:

Protect the Quarterback: The offensive line must improve its pass protection to give Ko’Dallas Avery time to make plays.'

Ball Security: Avery needs to limit turnovers and make smart decisions against a tough Georgia Tech defense.

Complete Defensive Effort: The secondary must build on their progress and deliver a full game of solid pass defense.

                  Players to Watch:
Prince Harris, DT, Florida State: Harris has been a dominant force on the defensive line, leading the team with tackles for loss and sacks. His performance will be crucial in disrupting Georgia Tech’s offense.

Jalen Rourke, QB, Georgia Tech: Rourke’s dual-threat ability makes him the key player for the Yellow Jackets. His performance will be pivotal in their quest for an upset.

                  Quotes:

Cameel Verner, FSU Head Coach: “We’ve focused on protecting the football and giving Ko’Dallas the time he needs to make plays. Our offensive line has been working hard in practice to address these issues.”

Cameel Verner on Defense: “Our secondary needs to put together a complete game. We’ve seen progress, but we need consistency to control the air better.”

Matteo Sledge, Georgia Tech Head Coach: “Florida State’s defensive line is exceptional. Their ability to get to the quarterback is unmatched, and we need to be at our best to protect Jalen and execute our game plan. We’ve prepared our team to handle their pressure by focusing on quick releases and solid protection schemes.”

Matteo Sledge on FSU's DT Prince Harris: Yeah he's pretty incredible. That's a daunting task right there. On film, hes just a nightmare to gameplan against, that's for sure."

                  RECRUITING

                  NOLES NAB 3 FIVE-STAR COMMITMENTS

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida State Seminoles are riding high after their recent victory over Louisville, and the momentum has carried over into recruiting. The Seminoles secured commitments from three five-star prospects, significantly boosting their 2035 recruiting class. These commitments have catapulted FSU to #3 in the national recruiting rankings, with a strong chance to finish #1 for the second consecutive year.

Hamilton: The Crown Jewel of the Class

The most significant commitment came from Cortez Hamilton, the #1 overall player in the class of 2035. Hailing from Clearwater, FL (Clearwater), Hamilton is a towering offensive tackle standing at 6’8" and weighing 340 pounds. His verbal pledge to the Seminoles is a game-changer for the program.

Rivals Recruiting Analyst Mike Ferrell had high praise for Hamilton: “Cortez Hamilton is an absolute beast on the offensive line. His athleticism, blocking prowess, and pure dominance make him a day-one starter for any program in the country. His leadership qualities allow him to be an alpha on offense, even as a lineman.”

Hamilton’s commitment gives Florida State two big-time five-star offensive linemen for the future, emphasizing the importance of building strength in the trenches. “The trenches are crucial, and FSU is making it clear that it’s a top priority,” Ferrell added.

Arian DeCastro: The Future of FSU’s Offense

The second commitment came from Arian DeCastro, a five-star quarterback from West Palm Beach, FL (Cardinal Newman). DeCastro, standing at 6’6" and weighing 210 pounds, is the #4 overall player in the class of 2035 and the #1 quarterback. His elite arm strength, playmaking ability, and decision-making skills make him a perfect fit for Florida State’s system.

“DeCastro has an elite arm and the ability to make plays all over the field,” said Ferrell. “His decision-making is top-notch, and he thrives in Florida State’s offensive system. Seeing him live at the Elite 11 camp, I was incredibly impressed with his lively arm and his sub-4.5 forty time.”

DeCastro’s commitment ensures that the Seminoles have a future star under center, ready to lead the offense to new heights.

Joey Truman: A Versatile Defensive Star

The final commitment came from Joey Truman, a five-star athlete from Port St. Lucie, FL (Port St. Lucie). Truman, who plays both running back and linebacker for his high school team, was recruited by FSU to play linebacker. At 6’3" and 230 pounds, Truman’s nose for the ball, relentless tackling ability, and sideline-to-sideline play make him a perfect fit for the Seminoles’ defense.

“Truman is a relentless tackler with a great nose for the ball,” Ferrell commented. “His ability to cover the field from sideline to sideline is something the Noles absolutely love. He’s going to be a key player for their defense.”

                  Building a Strong Foundation

With these three five-star commitments, Florida State’s 2035 recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the best in the country. Combined with last week’s commitments, the Seminoles are off to a strong start, adding depth and talent to both their offensive and defensive lines.

Although it’s early, the Seminoles sit at #3 in the recruiting rankings with a heavy shot to finish #1 for the second year in a row. The future looks bright in Tallahassee as Coach Cameel Verner and his staff continue to build a dynasty.

                  Commitments

QB Arian DeCastro 6'6" 210 lbs West Palm Beach, FL

                  PLAYER SPOTLIGHT:
The Rise of FSU’s Dominant DT Prince Harris

For those who haven’t yet heard the name Prince Harris, it’s time to take notice. The Florida State defensive tackle has been a revelation this season. He not only was awarded National Player of the Week last week (12 Tackles, 9 For loss, 4 Sacks)he's also posting staggering numbers through just four games: 30 tackles, 19 for loss, and 10.5 sacks. Standing at 6’4" and weighing 327 pounds, Harris is a force to be reckoned with on the field. But his journey to FSU and his current dominance is a story worth telling.

                  Background:

Prince Harris hails from Memphis, TN, where he attended Ridgeway High School. As a high school player, Harris was a standout, earning a Four-Star rating and narrowly missing out on a five-star designation. Rivals analyst Mike Farrell had high praise for Harris, stating, “Prince was the best Defensive Tackle in the class of 2033. His combination of size, strength, and agility was unmatched. I personally believed he was the top DT in his class.”

However, Harris’s path to Florida State was not without its hurdles. Due to a transcript error at Ridgeway High, his NCAA eligibility was not cleared until nearly the end of the 2033 season. This delay meant that Harris never officially enrolled at Florida State last year and was not part of the team, making this season his true freshman year.

                  Harris’s Determination:

Reflecting on the challenges he faced, Harris shared, “I was devastated when I couldn’t play last year. Watching my team from the home and not being able to contribute was tough. It fueled me to work even harder and be ready for this season.”

And ready he was. Harris’s performance this season has been nothing short of spectacular. His ability to disrupt opposing offenses has drawn comparisons to some of the greatest defensive players in college football history.

                  Expert Praise:

ESPN analyst David Pollack has been particularly impressed, stating, “Prince Harris might be the most dominant collegiate player I’ve ever seen. This guy is a 'Dude'. His ability to single-handedly take over a football game is reminiscent of Aaron Donald, but even Aaron didn’t post stats like this in college. Harris is a generational player.”

                  Looking Ahead:

As Florida State continues its quest for a national championship, Harris will undoubtedly be a key player to watch. His impact on the field is undeniable, and his story of perseverance and determination serves as an inspiration to many.

Prince Harris’s journey from Memphis to Florida State is a testament to his resilience and talent. As he continues to dominate on the field, the world is starting to take notice. Keep an eye on this rising star, as his future in college football—and beyond—looks incredibly bright.

                      UP NEXT: EAST CAROLINA (2-4)

The #2 Florida State Seminoles (5-0) are set to host the East Carolina Pirates (2-4) in a crucial ACC matchup. While East Carolina’s record may not be impressive, their losses have been narrow, with all but one coming by six points or less. The Pirates could easily be 5-1 if a few plays had gone their way.

                      East Carolina Pirates (2-4):

The Pirates are led by their dangerous dual-threat quarterback, Marco Casey. Standing at 5’11" and weighing 185 pounds, Casey has completed 62% of his passes for 1,279 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. He is also the team’s second-leading rusher with 172 yards on the ground. Head Coach Cameel Verner emphasized the importance of accounting for Casey’s mobility, stating, “We must account for Casey’s legs in this game. He’s a dynamic player who can hurt us both through the air and on the ground.”

Redshirt freshman wide receiver Trent Hollis has been a standout for the Pirates, leading the team with 45 catches for 585 yards and 5 touchdowns. Despite their struggles, East Carolina thrives in takeaways, which could pose a challenge for Florida State.

Head Coach Trent Wembly has been impressed with Florida State’s defensive line, stating, “Florida State’s defensive line is one of the best I’ve seen. Their ability to disrupt the backfield and pressure the quarterback is remarkable.” When asked how he plans to slow down freshman DT Prince Harris, Wembly responded, “That’s a tough question. Harris is a generational talent. We’ll need to be creative with our blocking schemes and quick with our releases to try and mitigate his impact.”

                      Florida State Seminoles (5-0):

The Seminoles are coming off a dominant 44-6 victory over Georgia Tech, where they showcased their potential. However, the loss of junior transfer center Walter Baden to a season-ending torn pectoral is a significant blow. Baden’s absence leaves a gap in the offensive line, with a redshirt freshman and two true freshmen as potential replacements. Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser announced that senior Shawn Turner will move from right guard to center, giving redshirt freshman guard Erik Harvey his first career start. “It’s an adjustment for everyone, but I have confidence in our guys. Turner will play center in live action for the first time, and I believe we can get it done,” Kiser said.

The running game will be crucial for the Seminoles, with three backs averaging over five yards per carry. East Carolina has struggled to stop the run all season, which could play into Florida State’s hands. Quarterback Ko’Dallas Avery made strides last game in protecting the ball, but he must avoid giving ECU extra possessions. “Taking care of the ball is paramount. We’ve worked on it all week, and it’s essential for our success,” Kiser emphasized.

Keys to the Game for Florida State:

Contain Marco Casey: The defense must account for Casey’s dual-threat ability and limit his impact both through the air and on the ground.

Protect the Quarterback: The revamped offensive line must give Ko’Dallas Avery time to make plays and avoid turnovers.

Run the Ball Effectively: With ECU’s struggles against the run, establishing a strong ground game will be key.

Continue Defensive Improvement: The secondary showed progress against Georgia Tech and must build on that performance to limit ECU’s passing attack.

How East Carolina Can Pull Off the Upset:

Exploit Turnovers: East Carolina thrives on takeaways. If they can force Florida State into making mistakes, they can capitalize on short fields and scoring opportunities.

Utilize Marco Casey’s Mobility: Casey’s ability to extend plays with his legs will be crucial. Keeping the Florida State defense off balance with designed runs and rollouts can create mismatches.

Control the Clock: Sustaining long drives and keeping Florida State’s explosive offense off the field will be key. A strong running game and efficient passing attack can help control the tempo.

Pressure Ko’Dallas Avery: If ECU’s defense can replicate the pressure that other teams have applied to Avery, they can force him into making mistakes and disrupt Florida State’s offensive rhythm.

                      Quotes:

Cameel Verner, FSU Head Coach: “We must account for Casey’s legs in this game. He’s a dynamic player who can hurt us both through the air and on the ground.”

Hayden Kiser, FSU Offensive Coordinator: “Taking care of the ball is paramount. We’ve worked on it all week, and it’s essential for our success.”
Cameel Verner on the Importance of the Game: “This game is crucial for our ACC standings. A loss could give ECU the tiebreaker and vault them to second place. We need to stay focused and execute our game plan.”

Trent Wembly, ECU Head Coach: “Florida State’s defensive line is one of the best I’ve seen. Their ability to disrupt the backfield and pressure the quarterback is remarkable.”

Trent Wembly on Prince Harris: “That’s a tough question. Harris is a generational talent. We’ll need to be creative with our blocking schemes and quick with our releases to try and mitigate his impact.”

                      Injury Report:

                      RB Duane Linder:
Will dress after missing the last four games.
                      LB Sanchez Donga: Out.
C Walter Baden: Out for the season.

                      RECRUITING

Florida State Lands Commitment from Top Athlete Kevin Jennings

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida State Seminoles have added another elite talent to their 2035 recruiting class with the commitment of Kevin Jennings, the #1 athlete in the country and the #9 overall player. Jennings, a 6’5", 223-pound standout from Snellville, GA (Gwinnett County), chose the Seminoles over several top programs, giving FSU its fifth five-star pledge this cycle.

                      A Versatile and Dynamic Talent

Jennings’ versatility is unmatched. At Gwinnett County High, he has excelled at quarterback, defensive end, and safety, showcasing his freakish athleticism and football IQ. His sub-4.4 forty time only adds to his impressive profile.

“Kevin Jennings is one of the most freakishly athletic players I’ve ever seen,” said Rivals Recruiting Analyst Mike Ferrell. “His ability to play multiple positions at a high level is rare. Whether he’s rushing the passer, covering receivers, or making plays in the backfield, Jennings is a game-changer.”

                      A Perfect Fit for FSU’s 3-3-5 Scheme

Florida State’s 3-3-5 defensive scheme is a perfect fit for Jennings’ skill set. The Seminoles have recruited him as an athlete on the defensive side of the ball, with plans to use him similarly to current Junior LB Ken’rell Davis, a former Five-Star recruit who has lined up at Defensive End, Safety, and Linebacker this season.

“The Seminoles are literally recruiting me as an athlete,” Jennings said. “They plan on using me all over the field, just like Ken’rell Davis. Seeing how they utilize him really piqued my interest.”

                      Building a Strong Foundation

With Jennings’ commitment, Florida State now has seven commitments for the class of 2035. The Seminoles are focused on filling needs at Linebacker and Edge, and Jennings’ versatility will be a significant asset in achieving that goal. His official visit is scheduled for the game against Memphis, where he will get a closer look at the program and its facilities.

                      A Bright Future Ahead

The addition of Jennings, along with the recent commitments of other five-star prospects, has positioned Florida State as a top contender in the recruiting rankings. Although it’s early, the Seminoles are currently ranked #3 with a strong shot at finishing #1 for the second year in a row.

Coach Cameel Verner and his staff continue to build a dynasty in Tallahassee, and the future looks incredibly bright for the Seminoles. With talents like Kevin Jennings joining the fold, FSU is poised to remain a powerhouse in college football for years to come.

                          UP NEXT: WEST VIRGINIA (4-2)

As we head into Week 7 of the college football season, the #2 Florida State Seminoles (6-0) are set to face off against the West Virginia Mountaineers (4-2) in a highly anticipated ACC clash. The Seminoles are riding a wave of mid-season momentum and are vying for a playoff spot, while the Mountaineers are looking to build on their recent success.

                          Riding the Wave of Momentum

Florida State has been dominant this season, boasting an undefeated record and eyeing a spot in the College Football Playoff. Head Coach Cameel Verner understands the importance of his team being ready for a hostile environment on the road, especially at night. “Playing on the road at night in a colder climate than we’re used to is a challenge,” Verner said. “We need to be mentally and physically prepared for the atmosphere and the conditions.”

                          West Virginia’s Recent Success

West Virginia is coming off a convincing 34-3 win against Duke last week. Their only losses this season have been close games against top-tier opponents: a one-point loss to 7-0 LSU and a seven-point loss to 6-1 Miami. The Mountaineers’ offense, led by quarterback Thomas Stai, ranks near the bottom half of the ACC, averaging 24.5 points per game. Stai has completed 61% of his passes with 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

                          Defensive Strength

The strength of West Virginia’s team lies in their defense, which ranks near the top half of the ACC. Linebackers Kevin Hurt and Jeff Louis are the team’s top defenders and leading tacklers, while junior safety Byron Bryant leads the team with 4 interceptions. Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser emphasized the importance of protecting the ball in a hostile environment. “Turnovers can change the game, especially on the road,” Kiser said. “We need to be smart with the ball and execute our game plan.”

                          Key Players and Matchups

                          Florida State:

Ko’Dallas Avery (QB): Avery looks to continue his strong performance from last week but must avoid turnovers against a stingy West Virginia defense.

Fredrick, Linder, and Hampton (RBs), Must Carry the Load: With starter Vontae Marshall suspended indefinitely, these backs will need to step up. “We have a deep running back room, and I have confidence in these guys to carry the load,” Kiser said.

Wide Receivers vs. WVU Defensive Backs: This matchup could be pivotal, as West Virginia boasts one of the best pass defenses in the nation.

                          West Virginia:

Thomas Stai (QB): Stai’s ability to manage the game and avoid mistakes will be crucial.

Kevin Hurt and Jeff Louis (LBs): These linebackers will be key in stopping Florida State’s run game.

Byron Bryant (S): Bryant’s playmaking ability in the secondary could be a game-changer.

                          Keys to Victory

                          Florida State:

Protect the Ball: Avery must avoid turnovers and make smart decisions.

Establish the Run: With cold temperatures, the run game will be crucial. Fredrick, Linder, and Hampton need to step up.

Pressure Stai: The Seminoles’ defense must pressure Stai and force him into mistakes.

                          West Virginia:

Control the Clock: A balanced offensive attack will help keep Florida State’s explosive offense off the field.

Win the Turnover Battle: Creating turnovers and capitalizing on them will be key.

Limit Big Plays: The defense must prevent Florida State’s receivers from making big plays downfield.

Florida State Suspends Junior Running Back Vontae Marshall Indefinitely

Tallahassee, FL – Florida State University has announced the indefinite suspension of junior running back Vontae Marshall following an incident involving law enforcement. The suspension comes as a significant blow to the Seminoles, who are preparing for a crucial stretch of their season.

Marshall was pulled over by Leon County deputies for speeding, clocked at 85 mph in a 55 mph zone. During the traffic stop, deputies detected the smell of marijuana emanating from his 2034 Chevy Camaro. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery and seizure of an undisclosed amount of marijuana. Marshall was arrested but later released on bond.

The situation escalated after a Twitter post surfaced showing Marshall and freshman tight end Nick Havener smoking marijuana. While Havener faced no charges, Marshall was detained and subsequently released on bond.

Head Coach Cameel Verner addressed the media regarding the suspension, stating, “We are extremely disappointed in the situation involving Vontae Marshall. As a program, we hold our student-athletes to high standards, and this behavior does not align with our values. We will continue to handle this matter internally and have no further details to share at this time.”

Marshall has been a key player for the Seminoles this season, leading the team with 81 carries for 383 yards (4.7 yards per carry) and 3 touchdowns. His performance had also caught the attention of NFL scouts, with Marshall being rated as the #4 running back on Mel Kiper’s big board if he opted to declare early for the draft.

The suspension leaves a significant void in Florida State’s offense as they navigate the remainder of their schedule. The team will need to rely on their depth at the running back position to fill the gap left by Marshall’s absence.

This incident serves as a reminder of the responsibilities that come with being a student-athlete and the impact of personal choices on both individual careers and team dynamics. The Seminoles will look to regroup and focus on their upcoming games, hoping to overcome this setback and continue their pursuit of success on the field

                          INJURIES

LB Sanchez Donga - Will dress and be available after being out since Week 1.
OC Walter Baden - Out for season.

                          RB Vontae Marshall - Suspended.

This game promises to be a thrilling contest between two talented teams. Florida State’s high-powered offense and dominant defense will be tested by West Virginia’s resilient defense and balanced attack. Tune in to ABC at 8 PM ET on October 21st to catch all the action!

                          RECRUTING

Noles Strike Again on the Recruiting Trail: Four-Star LB Kevin Dodge Commits to Florida State

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida State Seminoles continue to make waves on the recruiting trail, securing a commitment from four-star linebacker Kevin Dodge from Lawrenceville, GA (Central Gwinnett). Standing at 6’4" and weighing 253 pounds, Dodge is an imposing figure at linebacker. However, the Seminoles have a different plan for him in their 3-3-5 defensive scheme, recruiting him as an edge hybrid.

A Perfect Fit for FSU’s Defensive Scheme

Head Coach Cameel Verner has a proven track record of developing versatile defensive players, and Dodge is no exception. The Seminoles’ 3-3-5 scheme is designed to maximize the talents of hybrid defenders, and Dodge’s skill set fits perfectly into this system.

“Coach Verner has plenty of examples to showcase his ability to develop players,” Dodge said. “Seeing how he transformed Jonathan Stephens into a first-round pick at FSU really influenced my decision. I fully trust the staff to put me in the best position to succeed.”

Following in the Footsteps of Greatness

Jonathan Stephens, a former FSU linebacker, is one of the most recent success stories under Coach Verner’s tutelage. Stephens was a first-round pick and a dominant force on the field. Additionally, last year’s leading pass rusher for the Seminoles was a Four-Star recruit who played Safety in high school before transitioning to the “Bandit” (OLB) role at FSU. In his Junior year, he expanded his role to the edge hybrid position, and the rest is history.

                          A Top-Ranked Prospect

Dodge is ranked as the #207 player nationally, the #16 player in Georgia, and the #8 outside linebacker in the class of 2035. His commitment adds to an already impressive recruiting class for the Seminoles, who are focused on building a strong foundation for the future.

                          Building a Dynasty

With Dodge’s commitment, Florida State now has seven commitments for the class of 2035. The Seminoles are addressing key needs at linebacker and edge, and Dodge’s versatility will be a significant asset in achieving that goal. His ability to play multiple positions and his trust in the coaching staff’s development plan make him a perfect fit for FSU’s defense.

Florida State Prepares for ACC Showdown Against Memphis

The #1 Florida State Seminoles are set to face off against the Memphis Tigers (1-7) in an ACC clash this Saturday. While Memphis ranks near the bottom of the ACC in both offensive and defensive statistics, Head Coach Cameel Verner emphasized the importance of preparation regardless of the opponent. "Stats don't matter; we have to be prepared each week. Memphis is a team that can surprise you if you're not ready," Verner said.

                              Memphis Offense

Memphis is led by quarterback Ezekiel Djeri, who has completed 58% of his passes for 1,924 yards with 13 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. His favorite target is Tavarres Marsh, who has 557 receiving yards this season. Despite these standout performances, Memphis ranks near the bottom of the country in pass protection efficiency, a concern highlighted by Head Coach Stu Mack. "Facing a team like Florida State, who leads the nation in pass rush percentage and sacks, is a huge challenge for us," Mack said.

                              Florida State Keys to Victory

                              1. Dominant Pass Rush:
Florida State's defensive line, led by standout freshman Prince Harris, who is available to play this week after an injury last game, has been exceptional. The Seminoles rank #1 in pass rush percentage and sacks. Harris will be closely monitored, but his presence alone bolsters the defense. Defensive Coordinator Ryan Dukes stated, "Our team has performed well and shown consistent improvement. We need to keep that momentum going."

                              2. Balanced Offensive Attack:
With running back Vontae Marshall still suspended, the Seminoles will need to rely on a committee approach in the backfield. Senior transfer Duane Linder stepped up last game with 14 carries for 86 yards, helping to close out the game. Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser praised the running backs, saying, "I was pleased with how they controlled the game and closed it out against West Virginia. We need that same effort this week."

                              3. Ko'Dallas Avery's Dual-Threat Ability:
Quarterback Ko'Dallas Avery has been dominant over the last two weeks, both through the air and on the ground. Avery has completed 66% of his passes for 2,162 yards and 21 touchdowns this season. Memphis Head Coach Stu Mack emphasized the importance of forcing turnovers to win the game, stating, "We need to put pressure on Avery and force him into mistakes. That's our best chance to win."

Avery's receiving corps is diverse, with five receivers having over 20 catches this season, showcasing their playmaking abilities. This diversity will be key in breaking down Memphis's defense.

                              Memphis Keys to Victory

                              1. Protecting the Quarterback:
Ezekiel Djeri needs time to connect with his favorite target, Tavarres Marsh. Memphis's offensive line must improve their pass protection to give Djeri a chance against Florida State's relentless pass rush.

                              2.Forcing Turnovers:
Memphis's defense must capitalize on Florida State's offensive mistakes, similar to how West Virginia did last week. Turnovers will be critical in keeping Memphis in the game.

To relieve some pressure from their quarterback, Memphis needs to establish a consistent run game. This will help keep Florida State's defense off balance.

                              Defensive Show Promise

Florida State's defense has shown significant improvement over the past few weeks. The Seminoles have become one of the nation's most dominant defenses, holding opponents to minimal yardage and forcing turnovers. Last week, despite missing standout defensive tackle Prince Harris for most of the game, Florida State still managed to dominate West Virginia. Defensive Coordinator Ryan Dukes commented, "Our team has performed well and shown consistent improvement. We need to keep that momentum going."

Prince Harris is available to play this week but will be monitored closely to ensure he is fully recovered from his injury. His presence on the field will be a significant boost for the Seminoles' defense.

                              Quotes from the Coaches

Florida State Head Coach Cameel Verner:

Florida State Defensive Coordinator Ryan Dukes:
                              - "Our team has performed well and shown consistent improvement. We need to keep that momentum going."

Florida State Offensive Coordinator Hayden Kiser:
                              - "I was pleased with how the running backs controlled the game and closed it out against West Virginia. We need that same effort this week."

                              Memphis Head Coach Stu Mack:
                              - "Facing a team like Florida State, who leads the nation in pass rush percentage and sacks, is a huge challenge for us."
                              - "We need to put pressure on Avery and force him into mistakes. That's our best chance to win."

                              RECRUITING

Florida State Lands Three Major Commitments, Including Five-Star Safety Matthew Muhammad

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida State Seminoles continue to dominate on the recruiting trail, landing three significant commitments that have catapulted their 2035 class to the top of the national rankings. The headliner is *Matthew Muhammad*, a five-star safety from Allen, TX (Allen), who is the #2 overall player in the class of 2035. Muhammad, standing at 6'1" and weighing 208 pounds, chose the Seminoles over Texas Tech, Texas, and Texas A&M.

                              Matthew Muhammad: A Game-Changing Addition

Matthew Muhammad's commitment is a game-changer for the Seminoles. With great size and range for a safety, Muhammad's athletic traits are off the charts. Rivals Recruiting Analyst Mike Ferrell was effusive in his praise for the Noles' class so far and for Muhammad's abilities.

"Matthew Muhammad has everything you want in a safety," Ferrell said. "His size, range, and intelligence make him a standout player. He has the ability to call defenses from the field in year one. His athleticism jumps off the charts—he can cover a lot of ground and isn't afraid to come down and hit. FSU hit a home run with this recruitment."

Muhammad's versatility allows him to play all five positions on the back end of Florida State's 3-3-5 defense, making him an invaluable asset to the team. His commitment gives the Seminoles six five-star recruits in the class, the most of any school so far, and positions them well to potentially break Georgia Tech's record of nine five-star signings in 2029.

                              Orlando LeBeau: A Multifaceted Athlete

The second commitment comes from *Orlando LeBeau*, a four-star athlete from Jacksonville, FL (Trinity Christian). LeBeau, standing at 6'5" and weighing 230 pounds, is ranked as the #3 athlete in the class. He plays wide receiver, safety, and kick returner for Trinity Christian, but the Seminoles are recruiting him to play Spud (OLB) in their 3-3-5 defense.

"The Noles like my toughness and ability to make plays," LeBeau said. "After hanging with Coach Cameel Verner, who's probably the GOAT and played the same position they're recruiting me for, it was hard to say no. Verner's 12-year NFL career, including 8 Pro Bowls after 2 All-American seasons at FSU, really intrigued me."

LeBeau is the #154 overall player in the class, the #22 player in the state of Florida, and the #3 athlete. He chose FSU over Florida, Georgia, and UCF.

Joseph Allen: Building a Solid Defensive Back Class

The final commitment comes from Joseph Allen, a four-star safety from Orlando, FL (Dr. Phillips). Allen, standing at 6'2" and weighing 213 pounds, is the #167 overall prospect in the class. His elite size and athleticism make him a perfect fit for Florida State's defense.

"Coach Verner historically loves recruiting versatile defenders and plugging them into different areas of the 3-3-5 to maximize their potential," Ferrell noted. "Allen fits the scheme of the defense to perfection. He's similar to current FSU safety Desmond Kershaw, who plays both safety and linebacker and leads the team in tackles. Allen is a key piece to an already solid class."

                              A Top-Ranked Recruiting Class

With these commitments, Florida State now has 11 commitments for the class of 2035 and is ranked as the top class in the country. The Seminoles continue to build a formidable roster with their eyes set on maintaining their dominance in college football.

Here's a look at the latest commitments:

                              - Matthew Muhammad – Safety, 6'1", 208 lbs (Allen, TX)
                              - Orlando LeBeau – Athlete, 6'5", 230 lbs (Jacksonville, FL)
                              - Joseph Allen – Safety, 6'2", 213 lbs (Orlando, FL)

With needs still left to fill at linebacker and edge, the Seminoles are poised to secure even more top talent. Coach Cameel Verner and his staff are building a dynasty in Tallahassee, and the future looks bright for the Noles.
