They ran the ball pretty well it looks like, just shot themselves in the foot with 3 turnovers and all those sacks.

You've got the Huskies rolling early!

        Week 7 Preview vs. Iowa

Seattle - The Huskies look to keep their five game winning streak in tact on Saturday when they host the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Hawkeyes have a new look to them after parting ways with long time coach Kirk Ferentz in the offseason. Coach Rhett Lashlee has the Hawkeyes running a passing attack that looks different to many long time Iowa fans but has produced some good results so far as they are one of the nation's leaders in passing yards per game. It will be a test for the Huskies secondary who has played well this season, and now has to face an entirely different look from the Hawkeyes. Kickoff is set for 3:15 PM from Husky Stadium.

Tuscaloosa - College Gameday returns to a familiar site as we descend upon Tuscaloosa for an SEC showdown between the Crimson Tide, and the Florida Gators. Alabama is 5-0, and looking to get back to the dominant ways they enjoyed during the Nick Saban years, while the Gators after a down year are looking to get back into the national championship picture. Stanford Makes CFP Statement with Win Over Notre Dame

The Stanford Cardinal are showing that last years CFP appearance was no fluke as they have stormed out to a 6-0 start, and now have a statement win on their resume to boot as they went into South Bend, and took down the #4 Fighting Irish. While the loss won't dash the Irish's playoff hopes just yet without the benefit of an automatic bid they can ill afford another slip up if they hope to compete for a national title this season. Huskies Down Hawkeye's 30-10

Jordan Washington celebrates one of his two touchdown's on Saturday.

Seattle - Washington intercepted Iowa quarterback JJ Kohl three times, as they stifled the new look Hawkeye offense en-route to a 30-10 win on Saturday. Harrison Taggart had two of the three Husky picks which set up the Huskies for short trips to the endzone that they needed on a day where the offense wasn't quite as sharp as we've seen in the past few weeks. Demond Williams had a rather pedestrian day throwing for only 169 yards, and a rare interception. The game was in the balance in the fourth quarter however as Iowa cut it to 14-10 on a Dimitri Carden FG, but Washington countered with a touchdown before the defense went to work. Washington forced another turnover, for a short TD drive, and then tacked on a safety to make the score a little more lopsided than this game was. The Huskies will now finally take a break from conference play as they will welcome in the Washington State Cougars next week for the Apple Cup.

            Week 7 Recap

Florida Shocks Alabama as SEC Plunges into Chaos

Tuscaloosa - Freshman quarterback Gordon Abraham threw three touchdown passes, and after perhaps a post-championship hangover last year the Florida Gators are pushing for a chance to get back into the post-season as they went into Alabama, and stunned the previously undefeated Crimson Tide 41-27. The result plunges the SEC into a chaotic state as there are now five one loss teams all jumbled behind undefeated Georgia who will be fighting for a chance at the SEC championship. Here's the results from the Top 25 this week:

With the Huskies on the road for much of the first part of the season it's been a waiting game in recruiting for Washington, but now with visits starting to pour onto campus the Dawgs were able to get four commits to recruit after their trip to Husky Stadium last weekend. Week 8 Preview vs. Washington State

Seattle - The Washington Huskies, and Washington State Cougars will renew one of the oldest rivalries in the sport this weekend as the 118th edition of the Apple Cup will be taking place back on Montlake for the first time since 2022. It's been a tough year for the Cougars, who have lost Senior quarterback John Mateer, and his backup Evans Chuba to injury this season. It has resulted in one of the worst offenses in college football this year, however they seemed to find something last week when they picked up a win over Oregon State in conference play. As lopsided as it appears on paper the Huskies know never to take their rivals to the east too lightly as the Cougars will no doubt be gearing up to play spoiler for the UW season this weekend. Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM from Husky Stadium.

Eugene - The Michigan Wolverines will try to keep their undefeated season alive as they travel west to Eugene to take on the Oregon Ducks this Saturday. While Michigan is trying to stay undefeated, Oregon may well be fighting for the fate of their season, as a third loss, and second B1G Ten defeat may doom them to missing the college football playoff this season. It will be a raucous atmosphere when the game kicks off from Autzen Stadium at 3:30 PM Saturday. Here's where the rest of the Top 25 will be in action this week:

Michigan Jumps Georgia into #1 Spot

In an interesting turn of events the Michigan Wolverines lept from #2 to #1 this week over the defending champion Georgia Bulldogs in this week's AP Poll. Many feel the down year for the SEC to be the culprit as to why Georgia isn't getting as much love, but it's still rare to see an undefeated team at this point in the season get leapfrogged. Another story to follow this week is the return to glory for the ACC who has six teams ranked in this week's poll. Here's a look at the Top 25 heading into Week 8:

Washington Retains Apple Cup with 38-17 Win

Jordan Washington returns a punt for a score during the Huskies win.

Seattle - Jordan Washington rushed for 101 yards, and added a punt return touchdown as the Huskies held on to the Apple Cup for another year with a 38-17 victory over Washington State. Washington jumped out to a huge lead on their in-state rivals going into the break with a comfortable 31-3 lead. The Huskies may have taken their foot off the gas in the second half, but even with a pair of touchdowns from the Cougs, the result was never in doubt. Washington will now turn their attention back to conference play when they host the Indiana Hoosiers next week at Husky Stadium.

                    Week 9 Preview vs. Indiana

Seattle - The Huskies look to take another step in their push for a B1G Ten conference championship on Saturday when they host the Indiana Hoosiers. Michigan's loss last weekend at Autzen Stadium vaulted the Huskies back to the top of the B1G Ten standings at 6-1 in conference play. They'll have a very good chance of making it 7-1, as they host an Indiana team that has had a horrific season on both sides of the ball as the numbers below indicate. Kickoff is set for 12:00 PM from Husky Stadium.

nice win over Wazzou. They moved the ball but didn't get much for their efforts.

Hoosiers should be another W on the way to the B1G championship!

                        Huskies Overwhelm Hoosiers 42-6

Denzel Boston catches a touchdown during Saturday's win.
Seattle - The Husky defense forced four turnovers, and Demond Williams Jr. threw four touchdown passes as the Washington Huskies cruised to a 9-1 record with a 42-6 win over the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday. The Huskies will now be guaranteed a spot in the B1G ten title game if they can take care of business against Penn State in a few weeks. Before that however a monster non-conference showdown looms with Notre Dame coming to Husky Stadium next week.

                          Week 9 Recap

                          Texas Dominates Alabama 27-7

Austin - Backup QB KJ Spear threw for 346 yards, and the Longhorn defense stifled the Tide as Texas moved closer to the SEC Championship, and another trip to the college football playoff with a 27-7 win over Alabama. The loss puts Bama in serious danger of missing the college football playoff for a second straight season, and may put coach Kalen DeBoer firmly on the hot seat with a program that expects to compete for national titles every season. Here's a look at how the rest of the Top 25 shook out this week, and a look at how the conference races are shaping up as we head into the release of the first college football playoff rankings of 2026:

Week 10 Preview vs. Notre Dame

Seattle - It's rare to get a non-conference showdown this late in the season between two top teams, but we are getting a special treat this weekend in Seattle as the #4 Notre Dame Fighting Irish take on the #1 Washington Huskies in a match-up with major playoff implications. While neither team will likely be out of a shot at the playoff with a loss there are seeding implications at stake, especially for Notre Dame who would much rather be hosting a playoff game than going on the road. While a Washington loss would take them out of the #1 spot, this being a non-conference game will do nothing to hurt their chances at a conference championship, and automatic bid to the playoff. Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM from Husky Stadium. Here's a look at that matchup, and the rest of the Top 25 this week:

Despite their early season loss to then ranked Purdue the playoff commitee still favors the pre-season #1 Washington Huskies slightly over undefeated Stanford in the first release of their rankings for this year's college football playoff. Oregon, Notre Dame, and Kansas State round out the top 5, and Boise State checks in as the GO5 representative at #7. Here's a look at the complete rankings, and first projected bracket for the 2026 playoff:

Washington Leaves No Doubt Who's #1

Deven Bryant returns a fumble for a touchdown during the Huskies win on Saturday.

Seattle - Demond Williams Jr. threw three touchdowns, and the Husky defense ran two fumbles back for scores as Washington put an empathic stamp on their #1 ranking with a 42-21 drubbing of #4 Notre Dame on Saturday. The Huskies took their opening drive down the field for a score, and then the two defenses traded stops before Khmori House sacked Notre Dame QB Kenny Minchey forcing a fumble that Deven Bryant returned for a score to make it 14-0. Notre Dame was able to answer, but that was as close as they'd get as Washington scored right before halftime, and again with their opening drive out of the break to make it 28-7. That was when another strip sack resulted in a scoop and score for the Huskies to make it 35-7, and put the game far out of reach for the Irish who were no match for the Huskies on both sides of the ball on this day. There's little doubt the Huskies will maintain their #1 ranking when committee releases them on Tuesday, and now the Huskies will get a much deserved late season bye before a showdown with Penn State to clinch a spot in the B1G Ten championship.
