I missed that Riley was gone. Chadwell is an interesting choice for a replacement.

Still, I like Washington's chances in this matchup. Good thing about early roadtrips is you get to close out the season at home, definitely helps out recruiting

Yeah really weird how it did it. I’ll regenerate next time if it’s that lopsided. I’m at home the rest of the season after week 5 lol

Husky Special Teams Dominates in Win Over USC

Kevin Folk takes a blocked field goal back for a touchdown during Washington's win over USC.

Los Angeles - The Washington offense that had been so prolific through the first three games of the season was put to a halt by a stern USC defense, but it was a side of the ball that hadn't shown much so far in the season that came through. The Huskies blocked a punt, and a field goal, returning both for touchdowns that the offense could not produce, and the UW defense held USC in check as Washington was able to get out of the coliseum with a 27-9 win. Washington mustered just 181 yards of total offense in the game, yet was able to jump out to a big lead after Khmori House returned a blocked punt to make it 17-0. As stern as the USC defense was though the Huskies were just as solid holding USC to a shutout in the first half. USC managed a field goal to make it 17-3, and was setting up for another when the Huskies managed their second block of the day. This time it was Kevin Folk who took it all the way back for Washington, and essentially putting the game out of reach for the Trojans. The road will not get any easier for the Dawgs, as they now have a date with the Oregon Ducks next week in Eugene.

          Week 3 Recap

Texas Survives on Last Second Field Goal over UTSA

Austin - UTSA proved it belonged in the discussion with the big name programs in college football on Saturday afternoon, but in the end the Texas Longhorns were the kings of Texas as they hit a field goal with four seconds left and escaped with a 20-17 win over the Roadrunners at DKR-Memorial Stadium. While there are no morale victories in college football UTSA is no doubt encouraged by the fight they showed in this matchup with their in-state rivals, and it will be some much needed big game experience if, and when they make it to the college football playoff. Here's how the rest of the Top 25 fared in week 3:

            Week 4 Preview at Oregon

Eugene - Another chapter in the fierce Washington/Oregon rivalry is set to be written this Saturday when the #5 Huskies take on the #16 Ducks in Eugene. The two teams met twice this year with Oregon dominating the matchup in the regular season, before Washington returned the favor by clobbering the Ducks in the first round of last year's college football playoff. Speaking of the playoff while this game is early on in the season. It figures to play a huge part in the playoff picture down the line as both teams can ill afford a second loss on the docket with the majority of conference play still to go. With the stakes this high it's sure to be another intense game between the two hated rivals. Kickoff is set for 2:30 PM from Autzen Stadium.

Gameday Heads to Lubbock for Big XII Matchup

Lubbock - The top two ranked teams in the Big XII will do battle this Saturday in a matchup that could have huge implications down the line as #17 West Virginia travels to take on #14 Texas Tech. With a down year in the Big XII rankings wise there is the distinct possibility of only one team earning a playoff berth, and this matchup could go a long way to getting a spot in the Big XII championship, and a chance to play for that opportunity. Kickoff is set for 2:30 PM from Jones AT&T Stadium. Here's where the rest of the Top 25 will be playing this week as we gear up to dive head first into conference play.

So they had a true freshman QB, and were running a lot of option with him. Dude was tough to bring down but yeah, they did not really open up the passing game until I got up big on them.

Jordan Washington runs in the game winning touchdown on Saturday.

Eugene - Demond Williams Jr. had another solid performance with 265 yards, and a touchdown running, and throwing, but most importantly no turnovers as the Huskies went into Autzen Stadium, and escaped with a 28-21 win over the Oregon Ducks. The game was close all the way throughout with neither team ever getting more than a 7 point lead, but it was the Husky defense that came up big in the second half as they were able to intercept Dante Moore twice. Including one by Curley Reed III at the goal line to secure the Washington win. The Huskies now have one more road test on this daunting five game trip before they get to enjoy the confines of home as they travel to East Lansing to take on the Michigan State Spartans next Saturday.

East Lansing - The Washington Huskies will embark on their final road test of the season when they take on the Michigan State Spartans this Saturday. MSU is ranked for the first time since 2022, which coincidentally they soon lost after a loss to Washington at Husky Stadium. Gameday Heads to Chapel Hill

Chapel Hill - North Carolina coming off a stunning loss to the rival Blue Devils will look to climb back into the CFP picture when they welcome Notre Dame to Chapel Hill. The Irish are 5-0, and Marcus Freeman's team looks like they finally have the goods to get to the college football playoff. Meanwhile the Tar Heels dreams of a playoff appearance took a massive hit last week in a loss to Duke, but a win over Notre Dame would be just what the doctored ordered to revive their chances. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM from Kenan Memorial Stadium. Here's where the rest of the top teams in the country will be playing this week:

Teams look evenly matched, I like it. Seems your team has much more success getting to the QB, which could ultimately be the difference if MSU can't establish or maintain a running game.

Huskies Keep it Rolling with 32-14 Win Over Spartans

Demond Williams Jr. pushes a pass to Denzel Boston during the Huskies win.

East Lansing - Demond Williams Jr. had a career day through the air with 377 yards, and Denzel Boston joined him with 162 of those yards receiving as the Huskies moved to 5-1 with a 32-14 win over the Michigan State Spartans. Boston's big day was needed after Rashid Williams went down with a foot injury early in the first half. Boston stepped up in a big way seemingly catching everything that was thrown to him and picking up some hard earned yards afterwards. Meanwhile after the Washington defense struggled with the Spartans up tempo offense in the first half they clamped down after halftime, pitching a shut out, and forcing three turnovers. Washington now will finally get to head home next week and will welcome in the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

                              Week 6 Preview vs. Minnesota

Seattle - After five long weeks the Washington Huskies will finally return to the friendly confines of home this week as they take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Gophers have had a rough few years as a program in the B1G Ten, but after parting ways with coach Rich Rodriguez last season, and bringing in Gerad Parker, the Gophers have shot out to a modest 2-2 start. This will be their toughest test to date however as they'll be facing a Washington team that will be eager to put on a show for the fans who have been patiently waiting for their return to Montlake. Kickoff is set for 1:30 PM from Husky Stadium.

Gameday Heads to the Texas State Fair for the Red River Shootout

Dallas - It's a top ten showdown at the Cotton Bowl as #6 Texas takes on the defending SEC Champs #10 Oklahoma in a contest that will go a long way in determining who will get to play for the conference title this season. Oklahoma has dominated the series as of late taking three straight from the Longhorns, despite being the lower ranked team in every meeting. If Texas will want to buck the trend they'll have to do it without starting QB Arch Manning who is still recovering from his hip injury suffered in the opening game. Kickoff is set for 12:00 PM from Cotton Bowl Stadium. Here's where the rest of the Top 25 will be playing in a packed weekend of action:

Much of the top 25 remained intact after a quiet week of action in college football, but now with conference play kicking into full gear, and more ranked on ranked matchups starting to come to fruition we will be seeing some jockeying for position as we head toward the first CFP rankings of the season. Here's how the Top 25 shook out this week:

                                Huskies Trounce Gophers 51-13

Freshman Louis Yarborough picks up the ball in the endzone for a Husky touchdown on Saturday.

Seattle - Demond Williams Jr. threw four touchdown passes as the Huskies gave the fans in Seattle who have been waiting to see their Dawgs a show to remember as they demolished the Golden Gophers 51-13 on Saturday. The game started slow before Washington erupted for 31 points in the second quarter to make it a 34-10 score at halftime. The Huskies continued to pour it on in the second half before finally pulling starters in the fourth quarter of a game that was hardly ever competitive. The Husky pass rush that had not gotten to the quarterback as much this season went to town on the Gophers O-Line tallying 11 sacks as it seemed whoever the QB for Minnesota was, was under constant pressure every time they dropped back to pass. Washington now turns it's attention to next Saturday when they welcome the Iowa Hawkeyes to Husky Stadium.
