Huskies Thwart Buckeye Comeback to Remain Unbeaten

Grady Gross sends the game winner through the uprights from 45 yards.

Seattle - For the second game in a row the Huskies relied on Grady Gross to push them to victory, and once again he delivered. This time as the clock expired, and a lot more difficult than the 21 yarder he he had to make against Purdue, but the Huskies Senior delivered to send the Huskies to the top of the B1G Ten with a 27-24 victory over the #2 Ohio State Buckeyes at Husky Stadium. Washington had to overcome a rare off performance from quarterback Demond Williams Jr. who committed three turnovers in this one with a pair of fumbles, and an interception, but it was the Husky running game that kept Washington in control through much of this one, but the Buckeyes would not go away. After a slow start Washington scored the first points of the game in the second quarter after transfer running back Jacques Badolato-Birdsell capped a long drive with a touchdown run. Washington's defense, led by Russell Davis II, who had three sacks on the day, forced a punt and was driving again when Demond Williams was stripped for the first time which set up Ohio State for a tying touchdown. The two teams traded scores again before the half, and went into the locker room deadlocked at 14. Then the Huskies took control in the second half taking the opening drive for a score that put them back up. A Grady Gross field goal early in the 4th pushed the lead to 10, but Demond Williams Jr. was injured on the drive and put Washington in a perilous position. Ohio State was able to counter with a field goal of their own, and then easily stop the Huskies next possession after true freshman John Godwin was forced to take over behind center. Then the Buckeyes went to work on their best drive of the day, and with just over two minutes left the Husky lead had evaporated as the teams were level at 24. In again stepped Godwin, who showed the poise that made him a must have recruit for coach Jedd Fisch. Godwin was able to lead the Huskies down the field into field goal range for Grady Gross. If the Huskies kicker felt any pressure at all to deliver in the big moment he certainly didn't show it as he knocked it right down the middle from 45 yards out as the clock hit zeroes, and the Husky faithful were whipped into a frenzy. The win moved the Huskies to 5-0 in B1G Ten play, and they remain the only unbeaten power four team in the country at 8-0. We will have to see if the win was enough to change the minds of voters, and the playoff committee who despite their unblemished record, had the Huskies at #3 behind Ohio State, and rival Oregon heading into the week. Washington won't have too much time to worry about rankings however with a short week on tap before another conference game here at Husky Stadium Thursday night against Illinois.

      Week 10 Recap

Georgia Defeats Defending Champs in SEC Showdown

Jacksonville - Gunner Stockton threw for two touchdowns, and the Georgia Bulldogs continued their dominance in the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party by knocking off the defending champion Florida Gators 30-19 at EverBank Stadium. The win was much needed for Georgia to keep pace in a tight SEC race, while the loss puts Florida in serious danger of not being able to defend their title with three losses on the year, and a trip to the SEC Championship looking like it's not in the cards. The Gators will need to win out, and hope the committee is impressed enough to give them an at large bid if they want a chance to defend their crown. Here's how the rest of the nation's top teams fared in Week 10:

        Week 11 Preview vs. Illinois

Seattle - After a heart stopping game against the Buckeyes a week ago the Huskies will have to turn it around on a short week as they host Illinois at Husky Stadium on Thursday night. The main focus this week for the Huskies will be avoiding falling into the trap after two wins against top ten opponents. Illinois has not been much of a factor in the B1G Ten recently, and the Huskies are heavy favorites, but the Illini would love nothing more than to spoil the Huskies vibes coming off a huge win. Kickoff is set for 8:00 PM Thursday from Husky Stadium.

Salt Lake City - Gameday hits the road to Utah this week for a game that will go a long way in determining playoff spots, and conference championships as the top two teams in the Big XII go head to head when #10 Kansas State takes on #11 Utah. K-State is looking to head back to the college football playoff after their impressive run to the Semi-Finals last season while Utah tries to move closer to their first ever appearance in the tournament. Kickoff is set for 8:00 PM from Rice-Eccles stadium. Here's where the rest of the playoff contenders will be playing this week as we head down the home stretch of this season:

Committee, and Voters torn on #1 in this week's rankings

After Washington's statement win over Ohio State to remain unbeaten we seem to have a difference in opinion as to who the top team in the country is. The CFB playoff commitee still favors the Oregon Ducks as the #1 team in their playoff rankings, while the AP Voters have seen enough from Washington to make them the #1 ranked team in the land. Ultimately it will be decided on the field as the two rivals are set to face off in the coming weeks, but for now here's where they stand as we head into Week 11:

Huskies Pull Away in Fourth to Remain Unbeaten

Sam Adams II runs in for one of his two touchdowns on the night.

Seattle - As we get later on in the season, the Husky ground game has taken over as the focal point of the offense, and it was no different Thursday night. At a snow covered Husky Stadium Washington wore the Illinois defense down in the fourth quarter, and pulled away for a 31-21 win to move to 9-0 on the season. Sam Adams II rushed for two of the Huskies three rushing scores on the night, while Demond Williams Jr. rebounded from his three turnover game on Saturday to throw for 242 yards, while more importantly protecting the football as Washington had zero giveaways on the night. The Huskies will now a couple extra days off before their next game, the last road trip of the season to Wisconsin.

            Week 11 Recap

Kansas State Takes Control of Big XII With Dominant Defensive Performance

Salt Lake City - Dylan Edwards rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown after All-American DJ Giddens was injured early, and the K-State defense kept Utah out of the end zone, as the Wildcats took control of the Big XII regular season title race with a 17-6 win at Rice-Eccles stadium over the Utah Utes. Kansas State now sits alone at the top of the Big XII with a 5-1 conference record, and is in prime position to make it back to the college football playoff. Here's how the rest of the Top teams fared this week:

Huskies Recruiting Class Currently Sits in Top Ten

Picking up a couple more commitments after the #1 recruit in the nation Siaki Nye gave his verbal commitment to Washington the Huskies now currently sit with a top ten recruiting class heading into next year. Our rankings currently have the Huskies at 7th, and they are far from done, as they are in on many other blue chip players who have yet to make a decision. Here's how the class currently stacks up.

Slater Takes over Lead for Heisman

It seems to be a two man race for Heisman at the moment, as Kaidon Slater's big game through the air, and on the ground puts him slightly past Ben Gulbranson in our current Heisman rankings. Here's a look at the contenders:

                Week 12 Preview at Wisconsin

Madison - The Huskies hit the road for the final time in the regular season when they take on the Wisconsin Badgers Saturday. The Badgers are in the midst of a difficult, and disappointing season riddled with injuries that have them staring at another bowl less campaign. They face a healthy and rested Husky team coming off a couple extra days rest following a Thursday night game against Illinois, but Washington will not be taking the Badgers lightly, especially on the road in one of the more raucous venues in the B1G Ten. Kickoff is set for 5:00 PM from Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.

Gameday Heads to College Station for SEC Matchup

The SEC leading Auburn Tigers will face a major road test this week as they head to College Station to take on the 12th man, and the Texas A&M Aggies. Auburn remains undefeated in SEC play, and with Georgia, and Alabama set to face off this week a win would virtually guarantee a spot in the SEC championship. Meanwhile the Aggies are currently sitting at 19th in the CFP rankings, and are fighting for an at large bid, and a win over the Tigers would do wonders for their resume, while a loss would surely eliminate them from playoff discussion. There's a ton on the line in this one Saturday and it will kickoff at 12:00 PM from Kyle Field. Here's the rest of the Top 25 schedule for Week 12:

Little Movement in Rankings as Teams Make Final Push for Playoff

There was not a lot of movement amongst the top teams in the College Football Playoff rankings this week, as all contenders held serve. The only major change sees Kansas State now in control of the automatic bye from the Big XII after knocking off Utah in Salt Lake City. Here's how the rankings project the field this week:

Camp Randall is tough to play at. I just played Wisconsin in Randall with USC and after getting sacked on 1st down my sophomore quarterback forgot how to play and went ice cold. Another sack then a fumble trying to break containment lol

                  GL keeping the streak going!

Huskies Cruise Past Badgers to Reach 10-0

Jordan Washington takes a punt back 86 yards for a score during the Huskies win.

Madison - After a string of nail biting performances the Huskies were able to have a relatively stress free Saturday as they went into Camp Randall, and bullied the depleted Badgers 30-10. The Husky defense dominated the matchup pitching a first half shut out, and keeping Wisconsin out of the red zone for the entire game. Wisconsin was able to get some things going on the ground between the twenties, but when it came time to convert and keep drives alive, the Washington defense held up, allowing only one third down conversion in the entire contest. After taking a 17-0 halftime lead the Huskies allowed their only touchdown of the day on the first drive of the second half, and things felt tight for a moment as the teams traded punts, but Jordan Washington was able to break a return 86 yards to push the lead back to 17, and end any hopes of a Wisconsin rally. Next on deck for the Huskies will be the Oregon Ducks Saturday at Husky Stadium.

a lot of sacks by Wisconsin, but aside from that Williams Jr was efficient throughout the game.

Looks like you and Oregon are on a collision course for the Big Ten title game

Auburn Stays Unbeaten in SEC With Win Over A&M

College Station - The Auburn Tigers continued their unlikely run through the SEC on Saturday by marching into one of the most hostile environments in the country, and easily handling the Texas A&M Aggies 28-10 at Kyle Field. With Alabama's loss to Georgia on Thursday night the Aggies can now clinch a trip to the SEC title game next week when they take on the Oklahoma Sooners in Norman. Here's how the Top 25 shook out this week:

                            Week 13 Preview vs. Oregon

Seattle - It should be one of the most intense atmosphere's we've ever seen at Husky Stadium this Saturday as the top ranked Huskies welcome in their arch rivals the Oregon Ducks, with a spot in the B1G Ten championship on the line. Having already beaten Ohio State earlier in the season, and holding the tie breaker, the Huskies would wrap up a spot if they can knock off the Ducks this week, while Oregon needs to win and then look to other games in the country before their showdown next week in Happy Valley with Penn State. Kickoff for this massive showdown is set for 3:30 PM from Husky Stadium.

Commitee, and Polls Finally Agree Washington are Top Dawgs

After putting a couple one loss teams in their own conference ahead of them the playoff commitee had finally seen enough after the Huskies went to a hostile road environment, and came out with an easy win. The CFP Rankings have Washington as their #1 seed this week, finally coming into lockstep with the AP Poll which has had UW there for a couple weeks now. Here's how this weeks rankings shake out:

                              Ducks Run Over Huskies 37-14

Seattle - Noah Whittington had a monster day on the ground for the Ducks rushing for 213 yards, and two touchdowns, and QB Dante Moore threw for two as well as the Huskies undefeated streak came to an end at ten games at the hands of their hated rivals 37-14 at Husky Stadium. Washington had zero answer for the Ducks rushing attack in the first half, and after the run game opened the defense up, then Dante Moore went to work carving up the Huskies. Meanwhile on the other side of the ball, the game script got away from Washington forcing them to throw the ball much more than they would have liked resulting in two turnovers for quarterback Demond Williams Jr. The Huskies only offensive touchdown came in the third quarter when Oregon lost halfback Jordan Washington on a swing pass that he took to the house, but the game was mostly out of hand at that point. The good news for Washington is that all of their goals are still in front of them. A win this week over Rutgers, paired with a win by Oregon over Penn State will put them in the B1G Ten title game, and a rematch with the Ducks. Either way a win would most definitely have them in the college football playoff. First the Huskies must take care of business against the Scarlet Knights next Saturday.

                                Week 13 Recap

Purdue’s Upset Clinches B1G Ten Spot for Oregon

West Lafayette - The Purdue Boilermakers magical season continued on Saturday night when they took down the Ohio State Buckeyes at home at Ross-Ade Stadium. The win puts Purdue squarely in the mix for the college football playoff, and sets up what is effectively an elimination game next Saturday between Ohio State and Michigan where the winner will likely receive, an at large bid, while the loser will be on the outside looking in at the CFP. As far as title implications the result clinched a spot in the title game for Oregon, while a Penn State win over the Ducks will have the two set for a rematch for the championship. An Oregon win over Penn State will vault Washington into the title game if they can take care of business against Rutgers next week. Here’s how the Top 25 shook out for the penultimate week of 2025:
