Yeah idk what happened with the rankings but somehow a loss on the road to the #4 team dropped me completely out of the top 25! I guess if you're not in the playoff it doesn't really matter anyways, but sheesh.

      Lincoln Riley off to NFL

Los Angeles - It seems like every offseason the discussion has come up around Lincoln Riley, and the NFL. After an up, and down season at USC where the Trojans went 6-6 Riley has decided to leave the program in pursuit of a job in the league. Where the leaves the Trojans headed into year two in the Big Ten is now going to be a point of interest in the offseason as even with their recent struggles USC is still one of the premier jobs in college football, and the list of candidates will no doubt be filled with big names. Here are the other coaching moves that went down as the season wrapped up:

Marshall fired head coach Charles Huff
Stanford fired head coach Troy Taylor
California fired head coach Justin Wilcox
Virginia fired head coach Tony Elliott
Kent State fired head coach Kenni Burnes
BYU fired head coach Kalani Sitake
Arkansas fired head coach Sam Pittman
Western Kentucky fired head coach Tyson Helton
Vanderbilt fired head coach Clark Lea
Minnesota fired head coach P.J. Fleck
Ohio fired head coach Tim Albin
Michigan State fired head coach Jonathan Smith
North Carolina head coach Mack Brown retired

College Football Playoff, and Bowl Games Set

The first ever 12 team field for the College Football Playoff has been finalized after conference championships have been decided. The first round will feature games hosted by the higher seeded team in the bracket, while the four power conference champions have earned first round byes. Those teams are #1 Georgia (SEC), #2 Ohio State (B1G Ten) #3 Oklahoma State (Big XII) #4 Clemson (ACC). The other automatic spot goes to the highest ranked group of five champion which is Appalachian State (Sun Belt). Here's a look at the bracket, and final CFP rankings for the 2024 season.

        Will Howard Captures Heisman Trophy

Quarterback Will Howard out of Ohio State became the newest member of the exclusive Heisman trophy club on Saturday narrowly edging out QB Carson Beck of Georgia to win the award. He becomes Ohio State's eighth winner of the award tying them with USC for the most at 8. Howard will become the latest to try and follow up the honor with a national title. Which hasn't been done since Jameis Winston in 2016 with Florida State. Here's a look at the five finalists.

Two Huskies Take Home Postseason Awards

While the season for the Huskies as a team didn't end quite the way they would have liked, a couple of players were celebrated this week at the College Football Awards ceremony for their individual efforts on the field this season. Curley Reed III took home the honor for the nations top defensive back thanks to his dual threat ability in coverage, and getting after the quarterback. Giles Jackson was named as the nation's top return man for his efforts this season including two return touchdowns on the year. Here's a list of everyone who took home hardware at this years ceremony:

ugh sucks seeing Oregon in there knowing you could have played spoiler a few weeks ago.

GL against Mizzou, SEC teams are never slouches.

Sucks even more seeing how it's playing out. Might have had a shot.

                    College Football Playoff Quarterfinal Recap

Kansas State Pulls Off Monumental Upset in Sugar Bowl

New Orleans - After going undefeated, and winning the toughest conference in college football nearly everyone had Georgia easily cruising into the College Football Playoff Semi-finals. Nearly everyone except the Wildcats from Manhattan, Kansas. DJ Giddens rushed for 123 yards, and two touchdowns, while the Wildcat defense held Georgia's star RB to just 31 yards, on 16 carries as Kansas State pulled off one of the most stunning upsets in college football history taking down the #1 ranked, undefeated Georgia Bulldogs 38-24. Ultimately this playoff expansion was designed to make more teams feel like they have a chance to win a championship, and that feeling will only be strengthened by this result in just the first year. After coming up short in the Big XII title game the Wildcats are now just one win away from playing for a National Championship. Here's how all four quarterfinal games went down this week.

Jamey Chadwell Named New Head Coach at USC

Los Angeles - After Lincoln Riley's abrupt departure to pursue the NFL USC wasted little time in finding their new man. Jamey Chadwell was named the new head coach of the Trojans this week after leading Liberty to back-to-back 12 win seasons, and a New Year's six bowl appearance.

Huskies Season Comes to Disappointing End in Music City

Brady Cook was named MVP of the Music City Bowl after his three touchdown performance

Nashville - Brady Cook threw for three touchdowns, and the Husky offense was held to their lowest point total, and yardage output of the year as Washington's season came to an underwhelming end with a 31-10 defeat at the hands of the Missouri Tigers in the Transperfect Music City Bowl. On it's surface an 8-win season would be viewed by many as a successful season in the Huskies first year under head coach Jedd Fisch, and first year in a very tough B1G Ten conference, but the sour taste of the last two games may take all spring to wash out as the Huskies gear up for gear up for next season.

Ohio State Beats Oregon for Third Time to Advance to Championship

Miami - While not as dominant as their conference championship win, The Ohio State Buckeyes did enough on Saturday to beat the Oregon Ducks for the third time this season, and advance to the conference championship game. The Ducks will be left pondering what might have been if they could have gotten past the Buckeyes as all three of their losses on the season came at the hands of Ryan Day's Ohio State squad.

Kansas State's Cinderella Run Ends in Cotton Bowl

Arlington - Graham Mertz threw three touchdown passes as the Florida Gators defeated the Kansas State Wildcats 32-14 in the Cotton Bowl Classic on Saturday. The loss ended an improbable run by the Wildcats after losing the Big XII championship game. In the end it appeared as if they ran out of gas going up against a Florida team that has looked as impressive as anyone in this year's tournament.

Gators Complete Epic Comeback in Overtime to Win National Title

Atlanta - Coming into the season unranked, the Florida Gators had to overcome the odds just to get to this point, so when they went into the locker room at halftime 17-0 they were unfazed by the task ahead of them. The Gators stormed back in the second half led by National Championship MVP Montrell Johnson Jr., and were able to send the game into overtime where they ultimately prevailed. Upsetting the Ohio State Buckeyes, and claiming the fourth national championship in school history with a 30-27 win.
