    Week 14 Preview vs. Rutgers

Seattle - While eyes will be on the action in Happy Valley later on the Huskies must first take care of business of their own Saturday when they welcome the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers to Seattle. The Huskies need a win, and then need Oregon to take care of Penn State later on in the evening to secure a rematch with the Ducks for the B1G Ten Championship. Either way Washington needs to win to most likely wrap up at least an at large bid into the college football playoff as back to back losses might doom them in the eyes of a committee that has seemed to look down on the Huskies all season. Kickoff is set for 4:00 PM from Husky Stadium.

Gameday Heads to Happy Valley with B1G Ten Title Shot on the Line

University Park - College Gameday heads to one of the best settings in College Football this Saturday where the crowd should be in full throttle with a B1G Ten Title opportunity on the line as (9) Penn State hosts the (1) Oregon Ducks in Happy Valley. A win by the Nittany Lions will clinch them a spot in the championship game, while a loss combined with a win by Washington will eliminate them from the contest, and perhaps the college football playoff altogether. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM from Beaver Stadium. Here’s where the rest of the Top 25 will be doing battle on the final main weekend of the regular season:

Oregon Vaults Back to Top After Win at Washington

The Oregon Ducks reclaimed the top spot in both the CFP rankings, and the AP Poll this week after dismantling the previously top ranked Huskies on the road. Oregon has clinched a spot in the B1G Ten Championship game, and no doubt a spot at the table for this year’s college football playoff. ouch that was a tough loss to Oregon, but if you beat Rutgers you should make the title game I'd assume.

Huskies Blast Rutgers, but Miss Out on B1G Ten Title

Ephesians Prysock leaps towards the end zone during the Huskies win on Saturday.

Seattle - The Washington Huskies took out their frustrations from last week on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Jordan Washington scored three of the Huskies seven touchdowns, including six on the ground as they pounded Rutgers into submission at a snowy Husky Stadium 52-14. The win puts Washington at 11-1 on the year, and an almost certain home date in the college football playoff. The bad news came later on in the evening however as Penn State was able to knock off Oregon at Happy Valley, and via tiebreakers secure their spot in the B1G Ten title game in a rematch against the Ducks. While no conference championship is on the table for the Dawgs, the time off should do them some good as they wait to see who they will face in the first round of the CFP.

          Week 14 Recap

Penn State Earns Rematch with Oregon in B1G Ten Championship

University Park - Penn State knew the task at hand. Win against the #1 team in the country, and punch your ticket to the B1G Ten championship game, and that’s exactly what they did on Saturday. Nick Singleton rushed for 131 yards, and Drew Allar was able to outduel Dante Moore as the Nittany Lions defeated the Ducks 33-26. The result meant three teams finished the season at 8-1 in B1G Ten play, but thanks to tie breakers the two teams that faced off in Happy Valley will do so again in a couple of weeks in Indianapolis as the Washington Huskies are left out of the title game. Here’s how the rest of the country fared in the final weekend of the regular season:

Yeah I'm not sure how the tiebreakers work, there were some other conferences like the SEC that had the same thing happen. Gave me an extra week off before the playoff I guess so that's nice haha.

Playoff Committee Finalizes Playoff Field. Bowl Game Invites Handed Out

The College Football Playoff committee released their final rankings, and the 12 team bracket has been set for the 2025 Playoff. This year will feature the first G5 team to earn a bye in the bracket as Nevada from the Mountain West claimed the four seed over ACC Champion Stanford. The other first round byes went to the Big XII Champions #2 Kansas State, SEC Champions #3 Oklahoma, and the B1G Ten Champions #6 Penn State. In a strange turn of events given how conference championship tiebreakers played out, the #1 team in the CFP's final rankings the Georgia Bulldogs did not earn a bye and had to settle for the #5 seed, and a date with the ACC Champion Stanford Cardinal in the first round. The B1G Ten dominates this year's field with five teams in the bracket (Penn State, Purdue, Washington, Oregon, Michigan) followed by three from the SEC (Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas), two ACC teams (Stanford, Clemson). The Big XII becomes the first power conference with only one bid. Here's how the bracket shapes up, along with the final CFP Rankings, and bowl invites for teams who did not make the cut for this years playoff:

Kaidon Slater Beats the Odds to Capture Heisman

Kaidon Slater beat out four other quarterbacks by a slim margin to become the first player since Ty Detmer in 1990 from a none power conference to capture the Heisman trophy. Many thought Liberty's failure to stay ranked and make a push for the playoff would turn away voters, but in the end his numbers were simply too much to be ignored by voters as he took home the coveted award. Here's the final voting results from the downtown athletic club in Manhattan:

Milton Hopkins Jr. Captures Lombardi Trophy at College Football Awards Ceremony

It was another year for a Husky in Jedd Fisch's program to take home some hardware. A year after two huskies were honored with awards this year Milton Hopkins Jr. was recognized as the best defensive lineman in college football this season with the Lombardi award. Here's a list of this year's winners:

College Football Playoff Preview vs. Oregon

Seattle - The Washington Huskies will get the chance to avenge their only loss of the season, and this time the stakes are much higher, as another big time game in the history of the Oregon vs. Washington rivalry is set for this Saturday when the Huskes welcome in the Ducks to Husky Stadium for the first round of this year's college football playoff. It was only 28 days ago when the Ducks came to Seattle and handed the Dawgs their lone defeat of the season in dominating fashion with a 37-14 win. Noah Whittington ran wild on the Huskies defense that day for 236 yards, and stopping that from happening again will be priority #1 for the Huskies if they want to advance in this year's tournament. Another key will be taking care of the ball, something Demond Williams Jr. was not able to do the last time these two teams met, turning it over three times in the loss. Kickoff is set for 8:00 PM from Husky Stadium.

Huskies Get Revenge by Blasting Ducks 48-17

Curley Reed III blocks a field goal right before halftime

Seattle - The Washington Huskies avenged their only loss of the season in the first round of the college football playoff by dismantling the Oregon Ducks in all three phases of the game en route to a 48-17 win at Husky Stadium. Demond Williams Jr. made up for his three turnovers in the first matchup by throwing for three touchdowns in what may have been his most complete effort of the season. Meanwhile the Huskies special teams came up huge accounting for two scores on a punt return touchdown, and blocking a FG right before halftime and returning it for six, which put the nail in the coffin of Oregon. The Huskies jumped all over Oregon right away in this one getting out to a 21-0 lead before Dante Moore was able to find Evan Stewart for a huge 86 yard score that brought the Ducks back to life momentarily, but the UW defense clamped down, and Washington was able to stretch it back out to a 31-10 lead just before halftime. Oregon drove the field at the end of the half, and set up for a field goal that would have cut the deficit right before the gun, but Curley Reed III came off the edge to block the attempt, and Kordell Little scooped it up, and returned it for a score which all but sealed Oregon's fate. The Huskies now advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament, and a date in familiar territory as they'll head to the Rose Bowl to take on the B1G Ten champion Penn State Nitanny Lions.

                            College Football Playoff Quarterfinal Preview

Pasadena - The Washington Huskies head back to the Rose Bowl for the first time since 2019 in what has turned out to be somewhat of a traditional matchup for the game as they take on the B1G Ten champion Penn State Nittany Lions. Penn State won a tie breaker over Washington to get to the B1G Ten title game, and took advantage by knocking off Oregon, and earning the first round bye. Meanwhile Washington was denied a chance to play for the championship despite an equal conference record, and will be looking to show that they should have truly been crowned champions of the B1G Ten. The two teams did not play each other during conference play this season, but Penn State won their previous matchup last season in Happy Valley. Kickoff is set for 8:00 PM from Rose Bowl Stadium.

                              nice revenge game against Oregon.

Penn State's defense is tough hopefully you guys can make enough big plays to hold them at bay

First half was wild. Never had that much go right for me in a game except maybe the Rutgers game last season. On to the tournament of roses!
