Huskies Rally in Fourth Quarter to Escape With Win

Demond Williams Jr. celebrates after a fourth quarter touchdown.

College Park - Through three quarters on Saturday night it seemed like the Husky offense was shaking off the cobwebs of a possible let down after their huge win in Michigan, but the Defense held steady to keep Demond Williams Jr, and the Dawgs in the game, and the offense came alive in the final frame scoring seventeen unanswered points, as Washington improved to 6-0 on the season with a 24-10 win over the Maryland Terrapins. It was lowest offensive output on the year for the Huskies, who could not get on the same page in the passing game early on, and Maryland's defensive line came to play against the Huskies in one of their biggest on campus games in recent memory. Trailing 10-7 heading into the fourth quarter though Washington was finally able to break through, perhaps wearing down the Maryland onslaught, and finally putting their foots down late. Washington will now enter a much deserved bye week before five of their last six games are at home at Husky Stadium.

Kansas State Gets Back in Playoff Picture with Win over Texas Tech

Manhattan - DJ Giddens ran wild over the Red Raiders defense going for 172 yards, and Avery Johnson tossed two touchdowns as the Wildcats jumped back into the Big XII race after their early hiccup with a convincing 45-14 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Here's how the rest of the country fared in Week 6:

      On the Recruiting Trail

The Huskies secured their first commitment for the 2026 class this week when QB Kerry Brewer (343 NAT, 7 WA, 35 QB) out of Federal Way, WA chose to stay home and compete in a crowded QB room for the Huskies. Washington currently is carrying five QBs on their roster, and the addition of Brewer may turn some heads in the QB room, but coach Jedd Fisch will never back down at the chance to add talent to the team.

            Week 7 Recap

Baylor remains unbeaten with Thrashing of Utes

Waco - Freshman Quarterback Deontae Terrell had two touchdowns, and the Baylor Bears continued their impressive turnaround from a season ago, as they took down the previously unbeaten Utah Utes 28-10 in front of a raucous crowd in Waco. The now unbeaten Bears are currently in the drivers seat for a playoff spot after a disaster 2023 that saw them change coaches. Here's how the rest of the nation faired in Week 7:

I saw Washington get a big win in my USC dynasty a few days ago and realized I hadn't seen this get posted in a while.

Glad you're back, hopefully it'll be with a W over Purdue

Late Field Goal Pushes Huskies Past Purdue

Grady Gross knocks through the game winning kick on Saturday.

Seattle - The undefeated Huskies got off to a slow start on Saturday afternoon. Trailing 14-3 going into the break they knew they had to make some adjustments on both sides of the ball. Washington came out firing in the second half with the running game seemingly not working. Demond Williams Jr. threw for 293 yards, and two second half touchdowns, while also calmly leading the Huskies down the field in the final minutes to set up a game winning chip shot from Grady Gross as Washington defeated the #10 ranked Boilermakers 24-21 to remain unbeaten at 7-0. UW will now get another bye week before one of the biggest matchups in all of college football this season as the currently ranked #4 Ohio State Buckeyes will make their way to Husky Stadium in two weeks.

                      Week 8 Recap

Tigers Upset Georgia in 4 OT Thriller

Auburn - It took four quarters, and four overtimes to get it done but the #9 Auburn Tigers pulled off the biggest win for Auburn since Cam Newton was behind center as a 2 point conversion stop in the fourth overtime sent Jordan Hare stadium into a frenzy. The Tigers win was the first regular season defeat for Georgia since Oct 17th, 2020 when they lost to Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The Bulldogs have won two national titles since then, and their only losses had come in either the SEC Championship, or the College Football playoff, making this one of the bigger upsets in recent memory in College Football. Here's how the rest of the Top 25 fared as we pass the halfway point of the 2025 season.

                            Week 9 Recap

                            NC State Solidifies Playoff Position

The NC State Wolfpack made a convincing statement in their quest to return to the CFP for a second straight season as they defeated the visiting Virginia Tech Hokies 19-10 in Raleigh. The win places NC State at the top of the ACC, and sets up a probable ACC rematch with Clemson for the right to the automatic bye in the first round. Here's how the rest of the Top 25 fared this week including an upset of the #1 team in the country:

Huskies Land Whale as Number One Player in the Nation Commits

After seeing what pass rushers like Milton Hopkins Jr., and Russell Davis II have been able to do at Washington the past two seasons the #1 ranked recruit in the country Siaki Nye (1 NAT, 1 NV, 1 DE) out of Las Vegas verbally committed to joining the Huskies next fall. It's a massive get for head coach Jedd Fisch as he looks to bring the Huskies up among the nation's elite programs, and being able to land the top prospect in the nation shows he can recruit amongst the big boys in college football. Here's how the Huskies class currently stacks up:

Week 10 Preview vs. Ohio State

Seattle - In the 105 year history of Husky Stadium it has perhaps never seen a bigger game than what is on tap this weekend as the #2 Ohio State Buckeyes come into Montlake to take on the #3 Washington Huskies. The Huskies did not mince words about the disrespect they felt was shown by the playoff committee this week when the Buckeye's and Oregon jumped the undefeated Dawgs while on a bye week, but the Huskies will have a chance to prove their detractors wrong once, and for all if they can take down the defending B1G Ten champions. Kickoff is set for 3:00 PM, and College Gameday will be on site in the Red Square starting at 6:00 AM local time.

                              Committee Releases First Playoff Rankings

After #1 Alabama went down last Saturday in Tuscaloosa many assumed the #2, and last undefeated Power 5 team the Washington Huskies would ascend into the #1 spot. However the commitee, and AP voters still feel the Dawgs have something to prove, as they placed the Oregon Ducks, and Ohio State Buckeys ahead of them in the initial playoff rankings. While ultimately the Huskies will get the chance to prove the doubters wrong with both the Buckeys, and Ducks still on the schedule this season, the slight was not taken lightly in the UW locker room this week, and will make for an epic showdown this weekend at Husky Stadium. Here's how the rankings look for the first time in 2025:
