END OF THE YEAR TEAM REPORT

COACH STAFF STAYS INTACT

Clement and Brooks both stay. (In a sim they both left, sith Clement going to Miss State and Brooks becoming to the HC at Rice), so I was shocked that neither left when I finished out my season.

Miller turns down HC job offers at Toledo and Eastern Michigan as well a OC openings including Michigan.

Coach Miller
"I am excited that both Coach Clement and Coach Brooks have decided to stay. I believe we are building something special here at FIU and with the help of PittBull and several others from the 305 community I believe we can raise the funds to bring top talent to FIU and turn this program into a G5 Power"

OFFENSE LEADS NATION

I have to be completely honest. I knew we were putting up some huge #'s this season with multiple games over 50 points and multiple games with some huge passing/rushing #'s as well as 1st Downs, but I didn't realize it was by this big of margin.

FIU Offense #1 in the nation (7620 yds) 5205 yds Passing, 2352 yds Rushing 41.0 PPG, 43 PTD/25 RTD, 385 1st Downs

#2 BSU had 6930 yds, 4875 passing, 1920 rushing 34.8 PPG, 59/17 TD's 270 1st Downs

#3 TAMU #3 6503 yds, 4224 passing, 2175 rushing 36.8 PPG, 34/36 TD's 273 1st Downs

#4 Miami #4 6258 yds 4459 passing, 1591 rushing 34..0 PPG 40/24 TD's 230 1st Down

#5 Georgia #6 6220 yds 4321 passing, 1691 rusing 33.4 PPG, 40/27 TD's, 265 1st Downs

#6 ECU was #7 5698 yds 4024 passing, 1480 rushing, 33.6 PPG, 41/20 TD's 235 1st Downs

Saying Good Bye

QB K. Jenkins leaves with 11541 yds (in game) (he threw for 2422 yds as a FR IRL) with 96 TD's (+11 in 2023) 40 INT's (plus 11 in 2023) with 672 yds rushing and 8 TD's (he had 6 rushing TD's in 2023 IRL as a FR). It will be noted in the School Record section but yeah.. He was good, despite his last game.

WR Victor Jones Jr
The Liberty transfer played well in his lone season at FIU finishing with 72 rec for 991 yds 1nd 7 TD's.

RB Cash Jones
The Georgia/Wyoming transfer didn't get as many carries or yards as he probably would've liked behind Tabb, but he did finish with 83 carries for 389 yds and 4 TD this season but made his biggest impact on kick returns with 32 KR's for 740 yds including a pair of TD's.

OLB Percy Courtney Jr

A 2 year starter at OLB for Coach Miller, PC Jr finished with 54 tackles including 8 TFL and 7.0 sacks this season.

DT Steven Shannon
"Another 2 year starter, Shannon had 39 Tackles with 10 TFL and 3.5 sacks this season"

DT Clinton Mahoni
"Finished with just 14 Tackles but was tied for 2nd on the team in sacks with 7 including a pair in the playoff game vs TAMU"

Note Worthy
"7 Other players graduated including the starting RT,RG and C. but I have not been one to care much about Offensive line stats"

New School Records

Jenkins for now holds the new FIU Career Yards Record (11541) as well TD's (96). His 4910 yds this season is a new Season record as is his 39 TD's.. He also holds the record for Yards in a Game (556) and TD's (6)

FR TE Dominick Naanee added the school record for yards in a game (240) and added 3 new Season records with yards (1600) Reception (86) and TD's (14).

JR RB Cole Tabb now holds the new school record of yards in a season (1772), He finished with 15 TD's 1 shy of the school record of 16. (had I know I would pushed for him to 2 get 2 more TD's)

Well the playoff loss is disappointing, FIU still had it's best season in school history winning 11 games and the CUSA title.

Players leaving

RS SO Ryan Robinson Jr (81 Ovr) has decided to transfer for a 2nd time making his next team his 3rd in as many seasons. (He transfered in from Iowa State last season)

NFL DRAFT

QB Keyone Jenkins (87 ovr) does indeed get drafted (7th Round)

**Note Worthy, Boise State's Maddux Madsen (88) went in the 4th Round and RS SO RB Sire Gaines (88) declares early and goes in the 5th round.

RECRUITING

4* RB Cedric Hacker (#177 Overall/#17 FL/#18 RB) signs with Florida before the start of Week 1.

FIU goes into Week 1 with 11 players signed and just 2 players left on our original Recruiting Board.

3* John Dinapoli (#1582 Overall/#190 FL/#97 ATH)
3* Cortez Darby (#761 Overall/#7 OK/#46 ATH)

Coach Miller
"Both players are projected to end up on the Defense line. Dinapoli is listed at 6'3 285lbs and will most likely be a DT well Darby is 6'5 247lbs and will play DE"
With 13 Graduating Seniors, these 13 players represent those open scholarships. However with Robinson joining the Portal and the fact we went into the season with 73 scholarship players, Coach Miller will have 13 open scholarships for this year's transfer portal.

Also with the CUSA title and Playoff Appearance I am bumping up my ability to sign up to 6-4* Recruits. Last season ECU led A with 4-4* signings, this year Liberty has already signed 5.

Because I already have 2 early 4* signed, I will have the ability to sign up to 4-4* players in the Portal if there are any with interest in FIU.

Going into the Off-season FIU currently leads the CUSA at a ranked of #49 (2-4*,9-3*) with FAU ranked #62 (4-3*,15-2*), Appy State #92 (8-3*) Coastal Carolina #93 (3-3*,8-2*) Well Liberty despite (5-4*, their only signings) is #103 and ECU is #115 (they have signed 5-2* and 1-1*)

2026 TRANSFER PORTAL

QB

There were (5) 4* QB's available in the Portal but sadly non of them were interested in FIU.

#10 Overall Sam Leavitt (Arizona State) was the headliner. The JR led the Sun Devils to a Playoff spot in 2024 and back to back Big 12 titles but he is ready to move on with 2 years left.

(#20) Case McCollum (North Texas)
(#21) Pierce Clarkson (Louisville)
(#50) Cole Welliver (UConn)
(#56) Jaxon Potter (Washington State)

RB

(#8) Overall 4* Sedrick Alexander (Vanderbilt) and (#43) 4* Andre Devine (Jacksonville State) were the headliners at RB this season but again neither were interested in competing with Tabb next year at FIU.

WR[/TE/U]

There were (5) 4* Recruits available at WR and 1-4* TE

(#18) Jonathan Paylor (Tennesee), (#22) Brandon Hills (Washington State), (#48) Jonah Wilson (Houston) (#60) William Fowles (Florida) and (#68) Keonde Henry (Memphis).

Fowles a former Appalachian Mountaineer who had big #'s was a target last year by Coach Miller before he signed with Florida and once again he has FIU in his Top-3 (#3)

(#59) 4* TE Sam West (Indiana) head lines the TE group.

0-LINE

There were (11) 4* O-Line available in this year's portal led by (#7) Overall Charles Jaguash (Notre Dame), but out of those 4* only (#13 Overall) Lucas Simmons (Florida State) was interested in FIU (#2). Of course he became a instant top target for Coach Miller.

D-LINE

There were (14) 4* Recruits available on the D-Line with all 14 rated in the Top-50 available players, 4 of them in the Top-10 and 6 in the Top-15.

#3 Overall- Dylan Stewart (South Carolina), #4 Overall-Tyler Walton (Wake Forest), #5 Overall-Stephiylan Green (Clemson) and #6 Overall-Dakyus Brinkley (Kansas) were the headliners, but Coach Miller was super excited to see #12 Overall-Elias Williams (Missouri) with FIU as his #2 school.

Williams originally from New Port Richey FL is listed at 6'2 281lbs.

LINEBACKERS

There was (11) 4* Linebackers available including #57 Overall Wyatt Milkovic from Boise State who is originally from Fort Myers FL and the #1 Overall Recruit available (4* Jayr Johnson-South Carolina) but sadly none of them were interested in FIU.

SECONDARY

(18) 4* Recruits hit the portal led by #2 Overall SS Jaylen McClain (Ohio State), #9 Overall CB Cristian Conyer (Coastal Carolina) and #15 Overall FS Aaron Flowers (Oregon). But like many of the other 4* Recruits none of them were interested in FIU..

2026 NATIONAL SIGNING DAY

ALABAMA LANDS #1

The Alabama tide after another disappointing finish to the season have hope for the future as the Tide rolls in the #1 Class in the country landing 31 Recruits including a nation's Best (4) 5* Recruits.

This year's class had (4) QB's given a 5* Rating and Alabama landed 2 of them led by #4 Overall/#1 AL/#1 QB) Carlos Salmon from Opelika. Salmon will have some competition for the starting job though as #8 Overall/#2 GA/#2 QB Evan Shead also signs.

NATIONAL CHAMPS RELOAD

The Hurricanes turned the National Championship run into a successful National Signing day landing the #2 Class as they load up on 35 Recruits (2-5*,23-4*, 10-3*) including 5* QB Shakir Teague (#28 Overall/#3 FL/#4 QB) and 5* WR Enrique Mili (#13 Overall/#1 FL/#2 WR).

#1 BROWN GOING TO BE A BULLDOG

This years #1 Overall was none other then 5* Athlete Wayne Brown. Listed at 5'11 182 lbs from Mariettea GA, Brown played both RB and CB last season but appears set to make RB his future at Georgia. Brown helped Georgia land the #3 Overall Class as they also max out with 35 Recruits (2-5*,31-4*, 2-3*)

THE REST OF THE TOP-10

Despite a (6-6) finish in 2026, Notre Dame landed the #4 Class. The Irish signed 31 players in their rebuilding year including (1-5*,22-4*,8-3*)

LSU (#5) and Texas (#6) both had a disappointing year in SEC play missing the playoffs but they are reloading with all kinds of talent (LSU-28/1/21/6) and (Texas-30/2/22/6).

Clemson is #7. The Tigers landed 25 players including (3-5*, 13-4* and 9-3*) led by the Best O-linman in the country RT P. Aminu (#6 Overall)

Penn State #8 (24/1/18/5), Oregon #9 (29/0/27/2) and Texas A&M (22/1/15/6) round out your Top-10.

BOISE STATE LANDS TOP-25

Boise State's 3rd straight trip to the CFB Playoffs has helped them land another Top-25 class (#24) as they sign 27 players including 7-4* and 20-3* Recruits including 4* QB Donnie Sorensen from Delco ID.

FIU CLIMBS TO #35

Coach Matt Miller and the FIU Panther went into the off-season ranked #62 but came away with some top portal talent including the class's (3rd) 4* Recruit finishing with a Total Class of 21 players (3-4*, 18-3*).

4* LT Lucas Simmons (Florida State) was the #13 Overall Recruit in the Portal. The 6'8 308lb Tackle will have 2 years of eligibility left. He is slated to play LT as FIU's next starting QB appears to be Right handed.

Speaking of QB's Clayton Dee's will have some competition next year for QB1 as FIU lands 2 QB's out of the Portal.

3* Antwan Malveaux (South Carolina) was the #159 Overall Recruit in the Portal this year and the #10 Best QB.

3* Jamal Church (Syracuse) was the #170 Overall and the #11 Best QB..

Church is originally from Sebring FL well Malveaux hails from Fort Mill SC.

Both players are RS SO's and will have 3 years of eligibility left.

FIU miss's out on 4* William Fowles (Alabama) but signs 3* WR Brian Cheek (Alabama).

Coach Miller tried landing former Applalachian State Mountaineer William Fowles last year in the Portal but the 6'3 WR signed with Florida. Coach Miller went hard after him again this off-season but Fowles signs with Alabama, so Miller pivots and instead signs one of the guy's he is replacing.

3* WR Brian Cheek is a RS Freshman from Cape Coral Florida. Listed as the #87 Overall Recruit in the Portal and the #9 Best WR. Cheek can flat out fly (99 speed) providing the Panthers with the perfect replacement for Victor Jones Jr.

Coach Miller
"We really like our WR core. We liked them last year too but had the opportunity to land Jones Jr who produced almost 1000 yds for us. I think Cheek has the potential to do the same, the only difference is here we get him for 4 years vs 1."

Fowles wasn't the only Portal Recruit to turn down FIU's offer as 4* DE Elias Williams and 3* TE Landen Thomas are both headed to [UAuburn.

Coach Miller
"Losing out on Williams really hurt. He was actually the guy we wanted the most out of our entire Portal board."
Miller a TR SO from New Port Richey Florida was the #12 Overall Recruit in the class this year after spending last season @ Missouri.

Well Coach Brooks won't have Miller to help anchor the D-Line next season, he will have 3* Daniel Nduke (Indiana). Ranked the #138 Overall Recruit in the class, he was the #19 Best DE. He will joined 3* Athletes John Dinapoli and Cortez Darby who both signed in the off-season .

Coach Miller rounded out the off-season signings with a Trio of 3* Center recruits who will also provide the Panther with depth at Guard

TR FR David Okuayinonu (#120 Overall/#3 C) spent last season redshirting for South Carolina. well TR SO Tu'I Muti (#176 Overall/#6 C) stayed home to play for the Hawaii Warriors and TR FR Shareef Williams (#238 Overall/#10 C) redshirted for Southern Miss.

THE REST OF CUSA

Liberty jumped up and signing 11 players in the off-season to add to their 5-4* Recruits giving them the #50 Overall Class.

Coastal Carolina ended up with 21 players (1-4*,9-3*,10-2*) giving them the #75 Overall Class.

The rest of the schools were

Marshall-#90
FAU-#93
Appalachian State-#98
Charlotte-#99
East Carolina-#102
James Madison-#119
Old Dominion-#132

LOBOS LAND #134

Despite a 9 win season and making the MWC Championship game, New Mexico came away signing just 5 players (all 2*) as they land the worst ranked class of 2026.

Instate rival New Mexico State wasn't much better landing #130 signing 21 players (8-2*,13-*)

(Overall/Offense/Defense)
The 2027 Pre-Season Top-25 poll doesn't look very different the the Final poll of 2026 in terms of the teams in it just the order is different

ouch what a rough way to end the season. Reminds me of the loss I had to Georgia with USC. Threw like 8 interceptions that game iirc

it will be interesting to see how the offense fairs without Jenkins. Do you have a QB in mind so far, or too early to tell? And any thoughts on turning into a power running program until the QBs come around or get replaced?

CONFERENCE USA 2027 PREIVIEW

On Paper, most experts expect either #19 FIU or #23 ECU to compete for the title once again. Both teams have question marks as they both start new QB's. But

ECU hands the reigns off to SR Rahiem Jeter (82 ovr) for now but RS FR Zach Adcock (79 Ovr) is waiting in the wings and is ready. SR RB London Montgomery (86 Ovr) is back after rushing for 1213 yds with 13 TD's last season and whoever is throwing the ball will have SR WR Trenton Cloud (82 Ovr) who finished with 84 rec for 1334 yds and 14 TD's last year.

FIU. The Defending Champs have a huge ?? at QB, but the Panthers return SR RB Cole Tabb who led the nation in rushing with over 1700 yds and 15 TD's and will have SO TE Dominick Naanee who will look to improve on school records of 86 rec 1600 yds and 14 TD's he set last season.

APPALACHIAN STATE (84/84/84)- The Mountaineers played in the CUSA title game in 2025 but then struggled last season. Their roster is loaded with upperclassman who are looking to prove 2024 was a fluke and that they are better then 2026

Liberty (83/82/84) "The 2025 CUSA Champs struggled in 26 winning just 4 games, after losing their star QB and their HC. JR QB Jayden Bradford (77 Ovr) actually was pretty solid last year throwing for 3016 yds with 31 TD and 15 INT. He will be helped by SR RB Vaughn Blue (90 Ovr) who is a future NFL draft pick. Blue ran for 833 yds (5.4 avg) with 6 TD's last year.

Coastal Carolina (81/81/82)- QB Ethan Vasko is graduated and in the NFL (4th round pick), as CCU turns to JR QB Tad Hudson (81 ovr) to take his his place. The Chanticleers have won 7 games and gone to 2 straight bowl games. Now they are looking to make it #3.

Marshall (81/81/81)- The Trend continues as the Herd will have a new man under center in SO Anthony Kane (79 ovr). They were hit hard with graduation but will look to push to finish toward the Top after playing in the CUSA title game in 2024.

Charlotte (81/80/82)-Like most of the rest of CUSA, the 49er's will start a new QB. JR Deshawn Purdie (79 Ovr) but he will have one of the fastest and most feared WR in the Conference in former South Carolina/Maryland transfer Nyck Harbor (82 Ovr) to throw the ball too.. JR RB Rod Gainey Jr only had 155 yds last season on 43 carries but 9 of those went for TD's.

Old Dominion (81/81/81)-The Monarchs have struggle the past 2 years winning just 2 and 3 games. But unlike most of the teams in CUSA, they will have 4th year starter Colton Joseph (83 Ovr) behind center. Joseph has 8247 yds with 57 TD's and 23 INT's in his career over 3 seasons.. He also has almost 900 yds rushing with 7 TD's.

James Madison (80/79/82) The Dukes won just 1 game in 2025 but rebounded to win 7 last year. After 2 seasons with JC Evans (74 Ovr) at the helm (4915 yds 32 TD's and 31 INT's) it looks like they are going to start JR Larry Colon (78 ovr) under Center. The Dukes have 1 of the best Defense units in the conference with 5 players voted 1st Team CSU All-American led by SR DE Marcellus Nash (88 ovr), JR SS Phillip Harris (85 Ovr) and JR OLB Lamarcus Wooside (83 Ovr)

Florida Atlantic (80/80/81) The Owls will look to make it 3 straight years with a Bowling party. SO QB Barry Pappoe (78 Ovr) was pretty amazing last season (3526 yds 36 TD's and 16 INT) and the Owls return SR RB Gemari Sands (90 Ovr) 752 yds and 10 TD's who should be a future NFL pick.. Their WR core is inexperienced and led by former Utah Utes SR Daidren Zipperer (82 Ovr).

It was a tough way to end it. I landed 2 QB's in the Portal but honestly nobody is jumping out and screaming at me that they are #1. I am going to lean heavily on Todd this coming year and probably try and land a 4* QB in recruiting. For now Dees has the inside track only cause I have played with him. Malveaux has the best speed of the group if I wanted to try and run more with my QB and has the best THP (95) but one of the worst Deep Ball accuracy (74) of the group.

FIU will start the season with 79 Players (15 Seniors, 17 Juniors, 18 Soph's and a combined 29 Freshman (True-(T), Already Redshirted (RS) and those Redshirting this season (R).

Of the 79 players 64 hail from the Sunshine State (Florida) and 14 are local Miami players.

Coach Miller "
We are blessed to be in Florida and even more so to be in Miami. We have the Hurricanes just down the street as well as Florida, FSU, UCF, USF and FAU to compete against as well as pretty much every school in the nation trying to poach Florida kids to their programs, but I feel like we have done a pretty good job of building this program through instate kids and keeping local talent local"
With 15 Seniors and 6 Open scholarship available, Coach Miller will have 21 scholarships available to start the season plus any potential players who might hit the Portal.

Coach Miller
"We will likely commit to trying to scout and recruit around 25 players. Our success the past 2 seasons especially the CUSA Championship and Playoff Berth has opened up the doors to some recruits outside of Florida a bit more this season and also the level of interest in the school from a higher caliber of players. We have already heard from several 4* rated Recruits that they have FIU in their Top-3 schools to start the year. Our goal this season is a Top-25 recruiting class, and I believe we can do it"

INSIDE LOOK AT DEPTH CHART

QB

Coach Miller will have to replace 4 year starter Keyone Jenkins one of the best players to ever put on a Panther uniform.

Miller has plenty of options with 5 Quarterbacks listed on the active roster. RS JR Clayton Dees (11/24 (45% 146 yds 1 TD 1 INT) is the only player who has seen the field so far in his career.

The Transfer Portal saw Coach Miller land 2 QB's (A. Malveaux and J. Church) from Power 4 programs to try and push Dees for QB1 duties, but the 1 player to watch in the ealy going could be RS FR Tavaris Maijeh. A 3* in the 2025 Class, Maijeh redshirted last season but had a great spring and looks ready to push all 3 for some PT this season.

RB

Former Stanford transfer Cole Tabb came in and took CUSA and the Nation by storm last season rushing 346 times for a nation leading 1772 yds well also scoring 15 TD's. With questions at QB this season, one would think Tabb could see a increase in workload and potentially carry the ball 400 times this season.

Despite landing 4* Recruit Tavon Logan in this year's class, reports are Coach Miller plans to redshirt his next future RB star well rolling with SR TJ Snowden and RS FR Titus Thompkins as the team's #2/#3 RB. After posting 84 carries for 303 yds and 5 TD's as Shomari Lawrence's backup in 2025, Snowden's production dropped last season as he finished with just 12 carries for 48 yds and 1 TD moving to #3 on the depth chart behind Cash Jones who graduated.

The Panthers also will have RS SO's Jalen Haslam and and Major Benshaw active this year. Both players played a big role on Special teams a True Freshman before redshirting last season.

The Panthers also will look to continue to find ways to utilize FB's Antonio Ferguson (5 TD's last year) as well as RS FR Isaiah Dennis who could look to take care of some goal line carries this season.

WR

Last season Coach Miller landed former Liberty WR Victor Jones Jr in the Portal and struck gold. Miller might have done it again as former Alabama Tide Brian Cheek joins the WR room. Cheek isn't just the fastest WR on the team but could be one of the fastest in the country. (99 SPD,96 ACC/95 AGI/91 COD) with 86 Catch.

The Panthers WR room goes 5 deep this season with players who could be a #1 target for whoever is throwing the ball.

RS SR Kyle McNeal is the leader of this group with 137 career receptions for 2309 yds and 15 TD's the past 2 seasons. Fellow SR Juju Lewis had just 8 rec for 93 yds last season after posting 63 for 937 and a school record 11 TD's in 2025. Former 4* Recruit Tyler Cisco joins the active roster this year, and many think he has more talent then RS SO Enrique Cortez who posted 63 rec for 964 yds and 4 TD's last season as a RS Freshman.

Because of the depth Coach Miller is redshirting his prize recruit from this year's class 4* Ryan Kunaszky (#177 Overall) and word on the street is former 3* Faitele Okwara is joining him after playing the past 2 years. Okwara played a huge role in 2025 catching 57 balls for 749 yds and 9 TD's but like Lewis saw his production slip with the addition of Jones Jr and Cortez finishing with just 8 rec for 189 yds and 4 TD's.

Coach Miller
"I personally love F.O. I think he is a beast. We talked with with McNeal and Juju set to graduate, that will open up more reps and targets his way next season as he and Ryan will continue to give us 5 Top-tier talent at WR"

TE

Last season Dominick Naanee posted one of the best season's ever produced by a College Freshman setting FIU school records for Rec (86) Yards (1600) and TD's (14). The former 4* has NFL pedigree and at 6'6 238lbs already looks NLF ready.

3* Jose Malik was recruited in the same class and spent most of last season as the team's #3 TE recording just 3 rec for 20 yds, but Malik had a huge spring and word on the street is he has surpassed JR Wayne Gutierrez on the depth chart. Gutierrez had 10 rec for 179 yds and 3 TD last year.

Coach Miller
We were very impressed with Malik's training and progression this spring. It is our hope to make the #2 TE have a bigger role in our offense moving forward, as Coach Clement and myself look to take advantage of the talent we have"
0-LINE

Last year we saw the O-Line lose 3 starters to graduation, but Coach Miller and the staff went out and signed 2 new starters out of the Transfer Portal including former 4* Lucas Simmons (Florida State) who takes over at LT with last year's LT starter Daniel Michel moving to RT and 3* David Okuayinou is taking over at Center.

D-LINE

Last year Germanie Carter moved from DT to DE because of Depth issues, but Carter registered just 23 Tackles (5 TFL) and 1 Sack. Now Carter is moving back to DT where he hopes to improve on those #'s and prove he is a NFL caliber player. (87 Overall highest rated on the team).

Taking Carter's spot at DE will either be Indiana transfer Daniel Ndukwe or former FAU/Wake Forest transfer Wilky DeNaud, with RS JR Robert Williams (4 sacks) set to start on the opposite side.

LB's

SR Josiah Taylor returns for his 3rd year as a starter. Taylor has been the team leader the past 2 seasons in sacks posting 10.5 in 2025 and 10.0 last season.

JR Ronnie McRae (58 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 1 INT) is set to join him on the opposite side after being a key reserve last season.

RS FR Tevaughn Stewart takes over at MLB. The former 3* has impressed his team so much this spring that they elected him as the only non-senior Team Captain on the team.

SO Xaiver Mattison will be the key backup at all 3 spots. A former 1* in the 2025 class. Mattison was voted most improved by his teammates. Mattison as a True Freshman last season posted 48 Tackles with 1.5 sacks.

SECONDARY

The Panthers lost former Iowa State transfer Ryan Robinson to the Portal but return their starting 5 DB's from last season, including #1 CB Mister Clark who posted a team high 4 INT's and SS Jaden Williams who had a team high 86 Tackles.

SPECIAL TEAMS

After hitting 22/25 FG's as a True Freshman, Issac Glennon connected on 25/30 FG's last season, finally connecting on a 50+ yard kick hitting from 56 yds in the Panthers win over Marshall. Glennon so far is perfect going 117/117 over the last 2 seasons.

JR Louis Myers returns for his 3rd season as the Panthers Punter. After posting 55 punts for 2322 yds (42.2 Avg, 35.6 Net), Myers improved those #'s last year with 57 punts for 2484 yds (43.6 Avg, 38.2 net) connecting on a new career long of 63 well pinning 8 kicks inside the 20 yd line.

KJ said he is going to be the next Tom Brady. I think is Over rating and probably his showing in the playoffs didn't help his draft stock. East Carolina's QB however was a similar rating and went 4th round as did Boise States Maddux Madsen.

If I remember correctly I saw you post you have other projects going on. If I had a college hoops I could play that wasn't on my Xbox 360, I would be playing it alongside this and be posting at a slower rate. Hoping Hoops makes a return soon

GAME RECAP

For a 2nd straight year, FIU has lost it's Week 0 season opener to a ACC team this year falling to Florida State in the worst defeat of Coach Miller's time at FIU.

Coach Miller
"Last year's loss to Miami by 1 point hurt but it gave us the belief we could compete with anyone in the nation and we did the rest of the season winning a school record 11 games. This game hurts worst because honestly it has planted some doubt on if we are ready to succeed without KJ"

The "Post" Keyone Jenkins era didn't look good for the Panthers as Panther fans got watched RS JR Clayton Dees start the game and South Carolina transfer Antwan Malveaux finish it.

FSU wasted little time scoring as the Seminoles used just 2 plays to find the endzone as SR QB Brock Glenn (82) hits JR WR Lawayne McCoy (84) on a 68 yd bomb to make it (7-0).

Dees actually looked pretty solid in his debut completing 4/7 pass's before Cole Tabb punches in the 2 yd TD run to tie the game (7-7).

Dees 2nd series however would not go as well as FR FS Marquise Sills (78) picks off the QB for his first INT of the season. FSU would turn the turnover into points and then after a quick 3 and out, the Seminoles were in the endzone yet again to take a early (21-7) lead.

FIU would cut the lead to (21-14) as FR FB Isaiah Dennis punches in a 1 yd run for his firt career touchdown, but FSU answers right back with another score to extend the lead to (28-14). FIU was then forced to settle for a Glennon FG to make it (28-17) before FSU would tack on another score as SR RB Kam Davis breaks a 30 yd run to make it (35-17). Another forced Punt with 2 minutes to play in the half led to a FSU FG as time expires making it (38-17) at the half.

FIU opened up the 2nd half with the ball as Dees leads a 9 play drive ending with a 23 yd TD pass to Kyle McNeal to make it (38-24) FIU then forced a punt and Alabama transfer FR Brian Cheek showed off his sub 4.20 40 speed with a 86 yd punt return for a score as FIU closes the gap to (38-31) but that's as close as it would get.

FSU answer back as Brock Glenn throws his 3rd TD of the day hitting McCoy for another score to make it (45-31) heading into the 4th.

FSU would extend the lead to (52-31) as McCoy adds a rushing score with a 5 yd Jet Sweep.

Down (52-31), Coach Miller decided to pulls Dees after his 2nd INT of the day and get a look at South Carolina transfer Antwan Malveaux. Like Dees Malveaux looked pretty decent his first 2 series ending on of them with 59 yd TD pass to Cheek who shows off is speed once again to make it (52-37). FIU would lead the offense on the field for the 2pt play but FSU knocks the ball away.

FSU would then use just 8 plays before finding the endzone yet again as SO WR Andres Portilla (88) takes a Jet Sweep 33 yds for a score to make it (59-37). After a turnover on downs FSU takes over and settles for a 33 yd FG to make it (62-37). Malveaux feeling the pressure to make a play ends up with a bad read throwing a INT leading to another FSU score as the Seminoles get their 5th rushing TD of the day.

Because there wasn't very many games in Week 0, FIU retains their #19 ranking going into Week 1 as they will hit the road to take on the UCF Knights.

Wish there was something better the the practice mode to try and figure it out. I just got done playing the uCF game and went with Church.. He played well and right now is the front runner for sure, but still want to give Dees and Malveaux a chance at redemption plus not opposed to give the RS FR a shot either. Dees/Malveaux/Church are have Scrambling as their Tendency well Maijeh has Field General. Generally speaking Field Generals seem to improve to a higher overall for me in the past but we will see. Church is loaded with alot of solid traits as well. Not sure how much you know about the game but each player has Physical and Mental traits that help them. Church is loaded with 4 Physcial traits and 3 Mental. Dee's has 4 Physcial but no Mental, Malveauk has 2 of each, well Maijeh has 2 Mental but no Physical.

GAME RECAP

Well most Christian followers attend Church on Sunday's, FIU fan's were treated to a little Church on Saturday and it was a good thing.

Syracuse transfer Jamall Church grew up about and 1 hr and 30 minutes south of Orlando in Sebring and had a huge part of his family in attendance for the game vs UCF as the RS SO makes his FIU debut starting against the Knights.

UCF opened up the game with the ball and quickly scored as SR QB Dylan Rizk (81) throws the first of 3 TD's on the day hitting JR WR Bredell Richardson on a 62 yd bomb to make it (7-0), but FIU comes back with 2 straight scores as Church throws 1 TD (E. Cortez 30 yds) and runs for another (18 yds) to give the Panthers the (14-7) lead.

UCF would tie th game (14-14) midway through the 2nd Quarter as Rizk throws TD #2 to SO TE David Ihedigo (27 yds) but Church wasn't done as the QB runs in his 2nd rushing TD of the game to give FIU the (21-14) lead at the half.

FIU opened up the 2nd half with the ball and Cole Tabb went to work with 5 carries on the drive including a 29 yd TD run to extend the lead (28-14).

UCF would then be forced to settle for a 46 yd FG by JR Logan Teller making it (28-17). FIU leading by 11 stuck with short pass's and a ground game that couldn't be stopped as as Tabb continues to run over defenders, and with 1:13 to play in the 3rd, the Panthers found the endzone yet again as Tabb takes a 12 yd Screen pass from Church in for the score to make it (35-17).

UCF would attempt another FG early in the 4th but Teller this time does not connect giving the Panthers solid field position as the rushing attack goes back to work going over 200 yds on the day including a 28 yd TD run by TJ Snowden to make it (42-17).

UCF would find the endzone 2 more times making the game look closer then it was as Ritk throws TD #3 and JR RB Stacy Gage adds a 12 yd score with less then a minute to play. UCF would attempt a onside kick, but FIU would run out the clock as they continue to add to their rushing total ending the day with 240 yds on the ground.

Rizk finished the game 25/42 (59%) for 366 yds with 3 TD in the loss.
