Thanks Bolts. 3 games into my lst 8 games and I have taken the 1st spot away from the Caps. Thompson is now tied with Selanne for the most points for a rookie. Very exciting.

Well the boys from Sunrise Florida sure had an excellent season. Not only did a few players break team records and league records, but the team its self broke many team best records.

For starters the Panthers had the most points (106pts), the most wins (48 wins), and the most goals scored (293 GF) then any previous Panthers team. They also finished 1st in the East, a franchise record.

On a player level, Thompson and Koistinen had record breaking seasons.

Nathan Thompson, a 1st round draft pick this year (Vokoun to Islanders for thier 1st round pick), broke the record for the most points scored by a rookie (formally held by Teemu Selanne) in the NHL. He also broke franshise records for the most points, the most goals, and the most assists in a season. He is also a shoe in for the Art Ross, Maurice Rocket Richard, and Calder trophies; as well a likely candidate for the Conn Smyth and Lester B Pearson Awards. He has been an outstanding player this year and is expected to lead the Panthers deep into the playoffs.

Ville Koistinen, an undrafted Finish defensemen, was nothing more then a 6th/7th D-man before this season. Moved up to the 1st pairing early in the season, he was anything but a mediocer defensemen. He managed to break the Panthers previous record (Held by Robert Sevhla) for the most points scored by a defensemen at 74 and finished the 2009-2010 on top of the scoring list for defensemen and is a likely candidate for the James Norris Trophy.

On another note Lukes and Booth also had personal best seasons with 86 and 79 pts each. And rookie D-man Smith also had a great season with 68 pts. While goalie tandum Clemmensen and Fedorov had the 3rd best in the league Goals Against Avergage.

Each and every player will be looked apon for thier best as the Panthers move to the 1st round with a date with Montreal.

Lets just say it was a no contest for the Panthers. It was like the habs didn't even show up. The Panthers outscored the Habs 20 to 10 to take the series in 4. Not exactly what the Habs wanted, but definately a great series for the Panthers.

Of course Thompson lead the team, just like he did in the season, and at this pass could break even more records then he already has.

Washington, a definate foe of the Panthers, beat Toronto 4 to 1 and will now be the next opponent for the high flying Panthers.

              Other Series:

              PHI beat TB 4-2

Nice job so far. I just don't like the fact that the Pens finished last in the East. Good job on taking out the Habs. Now go get the cup. Don't let the Caps win it.

I only play home games. For the playoffs I would play game 5 or game 6 or game 7 if it was necessary.

I play on default superstar, 5 min periods.

                                Capitals (4-1) VS Panthers (4-0)

Once again, like with the Canadians, these two teams have never met in playoff contention. During the season the Panthers lead the series 4 to 1 and outscored the Caps by a margin of 20 to 16.

The Panthers will be looking to Thompson to lead them forward again as the Caps hope Ovi can get started from a so far lackluster playoff.
