There were many times Ovi looked liked he was going to lead the Caps to a win, but Thompson came back with a vengance. Easily the hardest opponent so far for the Panthers, it took 6 games to find the winner. And that winner was the Panthers, 4 to 2.

Flyers (8-4) VS Panthers (8-2)
Should be an interesting series as the Flyers come into town. During the season the two teams split the series 2-2 and the Flyers out scored the Panthers marginally 11 to 10. The Flyers also out managed the Panthers for the 2nd spot in goals against during the season.
Both teams will be looking to thier superstars, Thompson for the Panthers and Briere for the Flyers, to continue to contribute and bring thier A game.

The Flyers had no drive and seemed very tired. Definately not the team the Panthers faced during the season. The Panther's offense ran circles around them and never looked back.
27 goals were scored in this series, with the Panthers accounting for 70% of them. It was an easy finish for the Panthers, as they took the conference final 4 games to none.

Stanley Cup Finals
Coyotes (12-6) VS Panthers (12-2)
Well here we have it ladies and gentlemen. The final series of the season, between two teams that no one ever thought would be here.
The Coyotes near death and the Panthers changing management, who would know that the best from the west and east would be these two teams. But in thier right, they have played very well.
The Coyotes have faced Colorado, St Louis, and Calgary (This years President Trophy winners) and have played 18 hard fought games. Leading them is Doan with 19 points and you can expect the team will be heavily relying on him.
The Panthers (best team this year in the East) faced Montreal, Washington (A big season foe, were fighting for the 1st spot in the East), and Philadelphia and swept 2 out of the 3 teams faced. Like during the season, the Panthers have been looking to Thompson to lead them and they haven't been let down. Thompson has 39 points this offseason and has been promoted to Captian for his success.
It should be a great series.

Wow bthomp!!! Nice franchise! I just got caught up with it. That first round pick of yours really panned out for you, eh? That was quite a dominating performance by Thompson in both the regular season and post. Are you going to continue this into the next season? I certainly hope so!
You really got me with your, "beat Robert Svehla in points," what a blast from the past! He was one of my favorite Panthers. I haven't heard his name in forever! I probably would have brought him back in my Caps franschise if I had thought of it...LOL!

Thanks Bure. It was alot of fun. Thompson was a beast and I hope this year he will again. Going for that scoring title of Gretzkys this year if I can. :-)
