Good to see ECU finally got a Big East invite, I guess. It should have happened five years ago.

I'm wondering if/when the Big East catholic basketball schools will pull out of the conference.

This is well, well overdue. ECU cares ten times more deeply about football than UNC does and it is only 1 hour from Raliegh if that far away. Plus they have the highest attendance in non-AQ teams behind BYU I believe. Congrats Pirates.

If Louisville or UCONN go the ACC, it probably happens in the next few weeks. However, there are rumors that the ACC may invite Navy over both then they won't have the votes to break up the Big East.

All indications say C-USA is the WAC now.

              Former WAC Teams in/joining C-USA:
              Rice
              Louisiana Tech
              UTSA
              Tulsa
              UTEP

And it wouldn't surprise me if Idaho and NMSU got invited before we were all done.

Great point. I totally forgot about New Mexico St. They may get an invite to be travel partners with UTEP. Idaho has no crack at anything at this point tho. Idaho is in the middle of nowhere and its impossible to get to as well. Idaho is screwed.

There's a problem with that line of thinking - it makes way too much sense. CFB has abandoned all pretense of sensibility at this point.

Sounds like the Big East is anticipating Boise and San Diego not joining, or is it already official that they're not?

I don't think that's happening yet. The Big East seems to be replacing Rutgers and finding the 14th team that they've been looking for for the past year now.

There is some sense if you can follow it and what leagues have done in the past.

Idaho is 1,500 miles away from the closest school in CUSA which is UTEP. Idaho has no tv market, an awful football program and doesn't have a following at all. CUSA has no interest in it. That is why CUSA already told them hell no before and the Mountain West did too. CUSA isn't above bringing new teams up from 1-AA such as Sam Houston State or Lamar before they get that needy. They will want a piece of the Houston market back.

ACC sues Maryland to collect that exit fee. This should get interesting.

I just read a rumor that UConn and Virginia to the B1G is a "done deal". Take it for what you wish.

I also read a rumor that UConn is going to go to the Big 12 and a rumor that UConn is going to go to the ACC (the most likely scenario, probably).

                              CUSA's projected 2014 lineup:

                              UAB
                              Marshall

                              UTEP
                              Tulsa
                              UNC Charlotte
                              FIU
                              La Tech
                              North Texas
                              Old Dominion
                              UTSA

The nBE may not be all that, but it's the SEC compared to what's going to be left in CUSA.

ACC Football schools need to merge with the Big 12 football schools (drop the bottom feeders from the existing conference). That conference, if ND comes along also, would be able to challenge the SEC. Maybe not the top 3, but the conference top to bottom would be equal with the SEC.
