Thats a good point maybe the scheme fit they could potential make that where the AI goes after those people 1st or at least in a future game

It took me like 5 madden draft classes to find the 6'9 WR. However if that's still in the game with 4K people obviously going to be easier to find. Typically the 370 lb NT was like a 3/4th round type of guy.

You just can't manage to get him to see you as #1. He's going to run more than he throws and be mediocre if you can't sign him and a potential Heisman candidate if you can sign him.

Has Height and Weight really mattered in Madden? I can see weight having an impact due to the calculations the game makes for interactions. But, I never felt like Height made a huge impact in games. I say that because in NBA2K, Height and wingspan makes a huge impact in games. I traded for a couple 5'10 PGs who in theory should've been good players, but wasn't because they were too short and easily contested and not tall enough to make a good contest.

I asked that because it's easy to think, " I only want 6'0+ CBs", but does it really matter compared to 5'10-5'11 CBs in this game

I really like the idea of recruits you miss out on will remember you recruiting them if they transfer.

Yea height matters in certain positions with CB's being the #1 if I was ranking them. If your able to land the 6'2 CB's with speed that will make up for the lack of cover ability. You could find one 6'4 CB in just about every draft class.

I will have to keep a notebook of who I recruited so if they are in the portal I can go back and look

I definitely will have a strategy about it, especially starting out as a 1 star school. In the past, it was easy to bow out of a recruiting race once it got to a certain point. I'm definitely going to prioritize guys I can get. But, I wil have a "Layaway" program for 4 star and 5 star players. Those would be the players I invest time into for future transfer purposes. I might cap that at 2-4 players to start then expand when my recruiting pitches are better. I will only do that for 4 and 5 star players, not 3 stars unless I know they are Gems

In Madden, height definitely matters in WR and DB matchups. I've tested this in the last few releases, and when you put a 6'7" WR vs a 5'9" corner and then a 6'7" corner, all with the same ratings, the tall WR definitely wins his matchups a lot more vs the short corner than he does the equal height corner. It's mostly evident on any jump balls with high throws, but last time I tested it, the WR was like 30% more effective.

For my 1* small school I think my top priority will be finding 6'2+ CB's that can run. In madden they topped out at 6'4 and very rarely you would see one 6'5. The best player I ever drafted in madden this past year was a 6'2 mid 90s speed with coverage and he locks everything down.

Then the overweight NT with elite strength if those are in. Even with low ratings that's going to be my strategy bc I think those types of players can make up the gap.

I'm going to have a Zone Heavy 4-2-5. I want to target some Richard Shermans. I do hope they have a good sort system for recruits. I just want to be able to sort positions by height and weight. For my defense, give me HWS guys with high awareness.

I plan on turning some 6'5 athletes/WR into corners and usering them to make up for their lack of attributes. The best part about College Football games is the sheer absurdity you can pull off when it comes to position changes and making a player be what you want them to be.

My recruiting plan will be to go after attributes and physicals over positions. If a player fits the physicals I want, I'll find a position for them. Most likely will focus on 2 and 3 star sleeper picks. Whole defense 6'3 with 90 speed and 45 awareness

Yea the athletes should make the tall rangy CB’s even easier to find. I know most people will want to put the 6’5 guy at WR, but if he has even decent coverage ability and speed I’ll go CB

I used to play with this guy in a ncaa 14 dynasty that was all about his tall big arm qb’s, and his tall lengthy wide receivers and power backs. The man had a type [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] he would have better overall recruits that he would not mess with if they didn’t fit what he was looking for. Always respected him for that.

On offense QB and O line are priorities. I'll go after WRs with good catch and CIT. RBs I can work with whoever.

On defense in the past I prioritized stopping the run, so good LBs were a must and I just user'd d linemen. Passing games are even more advanced and in focus nowadays though, so I'll likely look for good coverage corners and safeties first.

It would be a interesting summary to take a vote of where everyone would rank their priorities for recruiting positions. Because time will be limited so you will have make choices on who to go after and who not to. Also we wont 100% know the ratings like we did in 14.

Thats funny and the kind of stuff that makes OD fun. I also can relate because I find myself wanting a certain type of player. Even if it doesn't necessarily matter I still want the size for my NT to be 355 pounds not 325 lb

I prioritize players I don’t control if I have a limited amount of points/minutes to spend. I don’t control my offensive line nor CBs, so those need to do their job on their own. So I prioritize higher overall skills since I can’t reasonably sub out these guys depending on if it’s a run or pass (for linemen) or a man or zone play (for the corners). But I feel I can never get enough offensive linemen and corners.

For players I control, I look for attributes I can’t control such as speed or throw power. And I build my playbook around the skills I have. On defense I almost always control a d-lineman since that’s what I played in high school. I’m usually quite effective because I hone those moves and learn which players on my line are best with which move (swim, rip, spin, bull rush).
