Re: How is your dynasty going

Just suffered the biggest ***-kicking in the history of my dynasty.

After pulling off a thrilling double-overtime victory at UCF, Tulane lays a COMPLETE egg in their home opener. Losing to Syracuse, 45-6, the 39-pt loss is the single largest loss in the Kaelyn Willingham era. Willingham was reported to have said after the game:

"A**es will be kicked. That was an embarrassment."

Really? SYRACUSE??? At least the lowly Memphis Tigers come to town next week. We need a BIG rebound.

I was THIS close to restarting the game. I finished it, then played a "Play Now" game just to calm down. My favorite conference is the B1G, so I played Maryland-Nebraska. Played as the Terps & lost, so I played Purdue-Illinois. Played as Purdue and won easily, so I went to practice with them.

Now I'm tempted to start a Purdue dynasty. They fit my offense ("Powerball"), in the Midwest (never done a B1G dynasty before), and they're only average. Just a fun dynasty, for when Tulane makes me mad

Hey games like that happen! You need to stick with the Tulane dynasty. For all you know Syracuse goes on to win the national title. Games like this happen in real life and you wanted a realistic dynasty so keep it going.

I never said I was quitting. I was just frustrated. Did not expect to lose to Syracuse. Especially like that. Besides, I've been tempted to do a B1G dynasty for a long time now. I may just do the B1G one on the side. That's all.

Tulane will keep trucking, we'll just have to rally together. 11-1 could still get the BCS.

Why don't they have the Shrine game, Senior Bowl, ect. Some of your Dynaties are so real, I think they should have included those games.
By the way - does anyone know if the Senior Bowl will be re-aired on TV?

If they do re-air it it'll probably be on NFL Network. But idk.

Maybe someone'll post the game on YouTube.

Responding to the original question of this thread, my Dynasty is going great! My ps3 dyn has had 8-11 users since July, still going strong and just started 2027 season. Rags to riches dynasty, we all started at 3 stars or below, now all but two have moved on to big time jobs. Kentucky to USC, ASU to LSU, Central Michigan to Illinois to Cal to The U, Utah State to Stanford to FSU, Fresno State to Auburn, NIU to Washington, Hawaii to Duke to UCLA, Colorado has stayed the whole time as has Texas Tech. 12 of the 14 titles have been won by users. We schedule 2-3 user games per person each season. Are any other Dyn's this far along? If so, let me know, I'd like to compare Dyn's and see where we fit!

Re: How is your dynasty going

I don't normally post on these threads, but I felt the need to because I just had one of the best games on NCAA 14 I've ever played. I was 4 games into my UMass dynasty, one of the worst teams in the game that I'm building up into a powerhouse, and we were facing Vanderbilt at home. We were coming off a terrible 35-7 loss to #17 Kansas State in which my QB threw 4 picks.

Anyways, I put my backup in as my starter (who was originally the starter at the beginning of the season before getting benched) and he performs absolutely terribly, ending the game with 3 picks and no touchdowns. But the defense plays out of their mind and somehow the score is only 6-3 at halftime with a UMass lead.

My true freshman running back literally carries the team on his back, averaging about 5 yards per carry, the only bright spot in the game. He leads us all the way down to the 1 yard line in the 3rd quarter, and the backup back punches it in for a 13-3 lead at the beginning of the 4th. Meanwhile, my defense (something like 68 OVR) is dominating this Vanderbilt team.

But the momentum shifts the opposite way in the 4th quarter and Vanderbilt scores a field goal to make it 13-6 and then after we go 3-and-out, they score a touchdown to make it 13-13.

So UMass gets the ball left with about 5 minutes left and our run-heavy offense burns off clock as we methodically drive down to about the 30 yard line, just in range to hit a field goal. But on 1st and 10, the backup running back gets stuffed for a loss of yards and on 2nd down, a holding penalty backs us up even more. The next run also gets a loss.

So on 3rd and forever (something like 20-22) and out of field goal range, I have absolutely no faith in my quarterback (who has thrown 3 picks so far), so I hand the ball off to my true freshman running back. He goes absolutely beast-mode, breaks a tackle and runs for 25 yards on 3rd down and long!!! This then sets us up for a game-winning field goal.

                        UMass downs Vanderbilt 16-13

Sorry about the long post, but this was by far the best football game I've ever played and I felt the need to share.

Well We are now 5-2 in a 3 way tie in our side of the conf race. On a side note with all my play book struggles I made a switch and pretty sure I am staying with it. My last 10 or so games I have been running out of a spread type offense and have had no luck with any of my running backs. So I swapped to a playbook I have been wanting to try but never have. I used Stanford's playbook and I like it. I was able to run the ball for 200 yrds and about 150ish with my starting rb. Even had a 3 season long of 43 yrd rush. Felt damn good lol. So Ill be sending my OC to Stanford for a lil coaching clinic.

Well to be honest Power running game has always been my thing. I am a die hard Huskers fan. I was trying to be cute and playing with a spread type offense the 1st two seasons with not much luck. So that being said I had to try Stanford's PB. Well I like it lol. I have a good fast RB but he isn't to well at breaking tackles. I recruited him as an Athlete and he was a good running back so he made the switch. He was also a JUCO guy so I only have him another year.

As far as my plans with them the more I recruit guys to them Its tougher for me to leave. If I get an offer to be Head Ball coach at Houston I think Ill make the jump but that's the only School Ill switch too. Plan on making this SJSU into a Michigan State type of team. Wouldnt mind maybe making a jump to a bigger conference but not sure which I would go to. Only one that makes sense is Pac-12 so I dont know. Well Ill only make that choice if I win the M-West 2 years in a row.

Second season at Tulane sees us go 11-3, sadly we lost to Army in the conference championship but beat Eastern Michigan in the Little Caesar's bowl and were ranked 25 in the final poll.
