Re: JRT2006's Madden Scouting Tool
Damn Rollo, that is some fine data you found there.
As I've already got consistency put into the tabs, I'd hate to let the findings you discovered go to waste. It shouldnt be too much wor to implement the idea you had at the end of your post.
I'm going to upload a test as soon as I change one of the tabs to reflect your findings.
See what you think. For such a minimal impact in game, it will take some work, but again, so will removing the consistency additions I've already put in.
Thanks for this
It looks like for 6 hour QB, we have a total change of +13/+10 between lowest and highest plateau. Likewise, normal to superstar for 6 hour game prep is a difference of 180 points. In this instance, total consistency is 6.4% of normal to superstar. 10 hour QB training looks like a +30/+24 total change from low to high consistency. That gives a 6% value when compared to normal to superstar boost. I could either do some more research with other positions, or we can call the 6% good and I can concentrate on coach trait experience boost.
If we call the 6% good, then I would say 0-25 consistency should get 0% boost, 25-41 gets 1.33%, 42-49 gets 2%, 50-74 gets 3.33%, 75-84 gets 4.67%, 85+ gets 6%.
Someone with slow and 85 consistency would have a (10)(1.06)= 10.6 potential modifier. Someone with quick and 50 would get (12.87)(1.0333)= 13.3 potential modifier. Someone with superstar and 25 would get (14.987)(1.0133)= 15.19 potential modifier. Add in coaching trait modifier and I think we're golden.Comment

Re: JRT2006's Madden Scouting Tool
I feel as though I'm not doing my math right,
using a QB from your created roster eval sheet, Barry Marshall.
Barry Marshall is average development with 57 Consistency
Average development is 20 points, 57 Consistency puts him in the 3.33% range.
3.33% of the development points(20) = .666 points.
Add that to his modifier?
*the italics above are where I think I'm misunderstanding
**Have a look at the QB Tab on the attached file and let me know if this is what you were getting at? Keep in mind the age factor we have implace as wellAttached FilesLast edited by JRT2006; 10-07-2014, 10:19 AM.Comment

Re: JRT2006's Madden Scouting Tool
The more I think about it, with a less then 1 point addition to values, having consistency in the formulas is a lot of wasted effort. Rather than add add all the data and formulas to go with it, it would be much quicker to remove the consistency column and formula from the entire sheet.
Players values will only increase by a point or two...Comment

Cleaning up the Roster Evaluation Tool.
-Double Checking for errors
-Locking cells with formulas not so you cant see but so they don't get changed on accident. If you want the formula, I will gladly share it
-Removing Consistency Thank you Rollo for the effort in discovering that information. With a less than 2 point increase in value, I found it was best to leave it out of the sheet. Age and development make a much bigger impact and will likely be the deciding factor over who to keep on the roster, not their consistency
-Creating new buttons to clear board information
Should be posted by tonight (12:11pm here now). Then i will clean up the scouting tool and add age to it as well.Comment

As for coach trait. It's a pretty size able bonus. I'm at work right now, but iirc it was a 390-600ish boost for 2 coach trait bubbles on the 10 hour game prep.
Edit: on second thought, adding coach trait to the sheet won't separate one player from another since each player gets the exact same bonus. We should be good where we stand.Last edited by Rollo; 10-07-2014, 01:41 PM.Comment

Re: JRT2006's Madden Scouting Tool
Jrt has anyone asked about a team needs column in the big board section just for reference while you are drafting? just a thoughtMLB The Show Hybrid Roster ContributorComment

I agree. I'll keep it on mine just cuz I'm a tad OCD about that ****, but it's pretty pointless.

Re: JRT2006's Madden Scouting Tool
Need label has been added. On your Team Needs tab, where you input your desired weights for position, right beside it you may label the need (Low, medium, High - or whatever you want really) and it will appear on the Big Board when it is generated.Comment

Re: JRT2006's Madden Scouting Tool
Been following this thread since the beginning and I have to say JRT and company (you know who you are), your collaboration on this has been a pleasure to watch. You guys came together and produced 2 extremely useful tools that I think almost all Madden users would find most beneficial. The way you gathered information, and bounced it off each until finding the way to leverage it best, was awesome. It was great to see JRT put all this together and while doing it manage to listen too, answer and very often add just about every request or suggestion made. I will be using both tools extensively when I start my new CFM after the patch today. Thanks guys, very impressive!!!WHO DAT! | GEAUX TIGERS! | LET'S GO RANGERS!
