    Re: JRT2006's Madden Scouting Tool

Just a quick question for inputting the roster, and I apologize if this has been asked/answered already. I looked through the posts and couldn't find it ....
Is there one screen that shows all of the information needed to input a player into the spreadsheet. Or is the only way to get all the info (salary cap pen, development trait, etc...), to go back and forth between a few screens?

I haven't seen the final version, but it should be 1 tab per position, with the first tab being the big board or roster eval tab (can't remember why it is called) that will pull all the info generated into it. Are you seeing something different?

If you mean on the game, yes, you have to go through different screens. The game prep screen is where you see the dev. Trait (or atleast that's where I've always found it-the different stars for player). Team Road map Salaries is where i get salary information. Then just basic rosters is where I get age and attributes.
it's a real pain in the butt

Wow. I completely read his post wrong. Lol. I was getting dev trait from the upgrade player screens before realizing it was easier to access in the game prep screen.

Just fyi, no filled in dots under dev trait on game prep is "slow." 1 dot filled in is "Normal" (or average in the spreadsheet I think). 3 dots is quick. 5 dots is superstar.

I hate how thats done, wish they'd just list it at the end of the attributes

              Re: JRT2006's Madden Scouting Tool

was thinking of using a vlookup formula to pull values in from another sheet but am unclear as to how this impacts as there are two cells (one merged/hidden) in each column? If it is do-able can the pasted in formulae be copied down the rows using the drag handles in selected cells - or is this likely to mess up?

figured updating values could be easier this way?

I don't see how it would mess anything up as long as you are using the correct cells for input.

So I just used the latest (Final) draft tool. It's the first time I've used it since a few updates ago.

Quick question, did you get rid of the red/green weight distribution indicator? I really liked that as it made it easier to tell if you had even weights for each position.

                    Bug

RG tab - Future Value isn't coming out correct. Something is off with the formula.

I forgot to change it to multiply. Go to column BG and change the + to * on cell BG2. When that cell is highlighted, click the small square in the bottom right corner of the cell and drag it to BG40 to copy the formula to the entire column.

The red/green weight notifier was removed. it wasn't working properly at the time, so I removed it and focused on finishing everything.

Also, Tdawg brought up a good point.
Most of you using the roster tool likely have your entire roster already inputted, having to download a fixed tool is a hassle when you have to input your roster all over again.

The passwords to unlock the sheets are 1334. When you find an error, I will do my best to post instructions to fix and also include a fixed one on the original post.

Above, in response to tdawgs bug report is the correction for the RG tab.

Column BG holds the modifier with the error. It reads with addition(+) and should multiply(*). Replace the plus sign + with an asterisks * and it should fix the problem. each cell with the formula will need this change, you can either either do each one at a time, or do the first cell BG2 and click and hold the small square at the bottom right of the cell and drag it throughout the row (it will highlight the entire row) to copy the formula change to each cell

Just stopped in to say that this tool is AWESOME. You seriously gave me a reason to start playing my CFM again. Its really fun to visualize scouting like this, I like the numerical metrics, and I look forward to seeing the results I get using it (in week 10 in my Falcons CFM!!).

                          Thanks for your hard work

It's the double cell columns that concerned me, sometimes when I am pasting they un-merge and sometimes show different values - not sure what's behind pad the idea of having two columns for each attribute?

Don't copy the cell. Select it, then highlight the formula and copy that for pasting.

I merge calls because i find it easier/quicker than changing the width and height. The hidden cells were created because it's easier to write code to search for information when they're all in the same column. Like a few lines of code compared to 15. So I had to add a lot of empty columns to push the values to the same column, then hide the unused ones

Anyone else have issues with position ranking on the roster eval board? Mine seem all out of whack, and I can't seem to figuru out why.

Each tabs formula is correct, and the rankings are correct. When the board is generated to pull the data from the correct column of each sheet, the rankings are all miced up.

I'm wondering if the code for the board isn't sorting the rank column with the rest of the data when it generates
