Re: Madden 16: Is the new Aggressive Catch overpowered?
I agree, except don't forget a lot of people play no switch. It would be nice for AI DBs to be a little more away in regards to playing man vs ball"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Someone with the game could do this test. Play now and throw bombs to Johnson against a cb1 without manually catching.? And see if they can score?

Check out the video I posted in the "Teach Me How" thread. "play WR" is far from the only way to stop it.

Don't make the A.I. play in the same way that glory hound Users play.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: Madden 16: Is the new Aggressive Catch overpowered?
I think people have different definitions of "OP". In my opinion, it's not that aggressive catching is OP (I do see the balance as far as the defense being able to get their fair share of breakups, deflections, INT's, etc..) it's the fact that too many receivers are able to trigger one handed / spectacular catches that should only be triggered by elite receivers. Far too often I'm seeing average receivers going up & pulling down catches with 2 or 3 defenders draped all over them. I'm seeing defenders in perfect position to get INT's only to see the receiver magically come down with the ball (almost as if the animation is predetermined in the receivers favor). How often do we see this IRL? I'm seeing catches that you would only see about 3 to 4 times a year in the NFL happen about 3 to 4 times a game in Madden smh.
So in my humble opinion, do think aggressive catching needs to be toned down. Rex is so caught up with people calling it "OP" when maybe that's the wrong terminology. The question we should be asking is how often do we see these types of catches IRL? I understand that if you have an elite receiver he should be able to come down with most of these aggressive catches if not defended properly, but I shouldn't be seeing average receivers being able to do the same with regularity.Alabama Crimson Tide | Jacksonville Jaguars

With an elite receiver, it probably is a little OP, but I played a game with the Vikings the other night, and I didn't complete a single one and I ran about 5 or 6 "shot" plays. Twice the ball was popped up and intercepted. Those hurt.Comment

If AI controlled DL is tuned to get more pressure .. that will help.
Also I feel once we get comfy with controls (playing WR instead of ball etc..).. it will be fine.
Just falls into the realm of more "realism" hopefully doesn't cause more complaining instead of more strategy thinking..
Using double teams, spotlighting etc... as strategies will be a fun experience now since they are needed.
Granted I haven't played the game yet but just seeing the vids etc.. I believe we are in a good spot.Joshua:

Re: Is The New Aggressive Catch Overpowered? (Possible Tweak Coming In Tuning Update?
I would like to see in game. There is a practice video on Calvin against a 77 ovr cb. He won 5 out of 6. And I stopped counting.
Now please read what I'm going to say. I know some would say it's Calvin against a 77ovr. But this is a video game. AI doesn't adjust and double your elite wr. There are some game design you have to take because the AI is not real. So there will be many many downs your wr will be one on one with a CB and if the wr get 5 out of 6 you will not need to do nothing else than go deep and throw bombs to the wr.
With a elite wr a decent ration would be 3 out of 10 for a game.. And 1 out of 10 for a mediocre. 1 out of 4 downs the AI leave your wr one on one minimum. .
By videos, I think it's overpowered. But again I would love to see a game were the user just go deep every down and see how that works.

No please. Knowing EA this will bring the sack fest we had last year.

And from my experience on 15.. it was the user controlled DL getting too many sacks that was an issue.. Not the User AI players.
User controlled DL in 16 look fine IMO. The AI controlled players are a "tad" weak from the vids.
Either way... looking forward to grabbing the game now...

And practice mode, which is tuned the same way as in game, is the best way to do it because you can control coverages.
